Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

Smokeshadow had never been confronted with such a dilemma before. If Flamingstar is evil as Echomelody says, what should they do about it if anything? "So if she's so bad, what can any cat do about it? Not that I'm saying its right, but killing her would be extremely difficult because you'd have to do nine times. Once would be hard enough."
"Eight times" she corrected. "She lost a life in the battle between the Shadow Era cats and the rest of the clans. But your right. Eight is still a lot." She though for a moment. "Honestly, I don't even know. The only way we could dethrone her is if we get the entire clan against her but...there's some that actually believe she should be their leader. She's evil to me but to give her some credit, she does stand her ground. We haven't had an intrusion or another clan take over our territory since she has become leader." Echomelody sighed. "So even though she doesn't treat her 'subjects' right, she still offers protection and has helped us evolve but I still can't get over that she has killed cats and cheated her way to leadership...we just have to wait for her to screw up...and then we will get her."

The last few words alarmed Smokeshadow, 'and then we will get her.' Was Echomelody including him in the we? And how did he really feel about it? Right now he wasn't sure what side he'd fall in with. She was right though. Flamingstar had done some good since her ascension to leadership but did that outweigh the questionable things she'd done? And he didn't know until now she had already lost one life.
He knew one thing for sure though, he'd never betray Echomelody if he sided with Flamingstar. She had trusted him with her deep thoughts and might even persuade him to defect. He realized then there would be no middle of the road when the time would come to choose. He'd have to be either stand for or against Flamingstar. Perhaps Echomelody was right. "I'm still not sure what side to be on," he admitted. "But right now I want to wait and watch what happens."
Echomelody looked surprised for a moment that he would even consider siding with Flamingstar but a part of her understood. Echomelody was a good warrior and an even better friend. Even if her clan mate was unsure of where his loyalty should lay, Echomelody wouldn't blame him. Of course he should be loyal to his leader and his clan. It was the warrior code. "It's okay, Smokeshadow. I wouldn't blame you if you chose to side with Flamingstar. She is your leader, after all. But you promise you won't say anything about what I just told you?" Her expression turned from understanding to concerned.

"I won't say a thing," he said sincerely. "You can count on that. I would never betray a confidence." Smokeshadow understood her concern. An unscrupulousness cat could worm his way into favor by revealing what she had said. But he wasn't like that at all. "I want to do what is right for my clan. I just need to figure out just what that is. Going against a leader is a serious thing."
The black and white she-cat relaxed and let out a relieving sigh. "Thanks" she responded. "I know it's a serious thing and I don't expect you to go against her. I suppose I just needed to vent. I shouldn't have put pressure on you. Forgive me."

"There's nothing to forgive because you didn't pressure me. In fact I'm glad you confided in me," Smokeshadow said. "You've taught me that I've spent too much of my time not paying attention to what's happening around me. I need to be more alert about things like this. I'm going to keep my ears and eyes open from now on."

"Who wants to be caught up in drama?" he asked rhetorically. "Maybe that was my problem all along. I need to find a nice middle ground between the two extremes, living my life as I want and paying attention to whats going on around me." He stretched by arching his back. "So what's our next move?" He didn't want to become a DayClan spy like she had hinted she might do but there might be something he can do.

"I suppose you're right," Smokeshadow meowed. "But that could mean we're in for a long wait. Who knows when she might do something?" He looked up at the bright sunlit sky and wished he was sleepy. He hoped he wouldn't be assigned to a patrol tonight. He'd be dead on his paws if that happened. Maybe if he stayed out past sunset he could get out of being chosen. "I'm going to do some hunting then try to get some sleep before sunset. Hopefully I can get myself tired enough so I can."
"Yeah...me too..." Echomelody yawned, suddenly realizing how tired she was. "Oh well. I'm too tired to come up with a plan, anyway. One day she will mess up. And when she does, I'll be waiting." She stood and stretched. "Well, I should head back to camp. I'm going to try to get some rest. I'll talk to you later." She gave Smokeshadow a sleepy smile before turning and heading back to camp.
