She ran up the slope, wondering how far she could get without running out of breath. A series of giggles escaped her muzzle as long grass tickled her nose and threatened to make her sneeze. Chaipaw had spent most of her days worrying about her sister eating something that could seriously harm her and floating through the clan aimlessly after her training sessions. She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling the wind whipping through her fur. However, she wasn't exactly looking where she was going...

The silent tom had his eyes closed as he sat upon the hill, his tail wrapped neatly across his paws. Silverspectre wasn't the kind of character who...socialized. The camp was always a little too loud for his ringing ears, there was always a little too many things going on, from kits rough-housing to the elders complaining to the apprentices about this or that or the coldness settling into their bones. The thought of having to sit there and pretend to be civil–or worse, having someone talk to him–made him shudder. Out in the territory though, he could find a bit of peace and quiet. Here, the bird didn't mind that he barely spoke, the trees didn't mind his wandering daydreams, and the rivers didn't mind his white pelt potentially alerting the prey to his presence.
He let out a comfortable sigh, the spring bringing the faint dampness that now smelled so familiar. What he didn't expect, however, was a body to come barreling his way, knocking him off his feet as he scrambled up, eyes wide at his attacker, a soft hiss leaving his mouth–oh, wait. He recognized the familiar face, even if he didn't know her by name. Forcing his fur flat, he gave the apprentice a cautious look, as if asking what in the world was she doing, running that fast with her eyes somewhere other than the path?

"Oh, hehe, sorry Silverspectre. I wasn't looking where I was going." Chaipaw meowed cheekily and gave a respectful dip of her head. "Silly me. I should have had my eyes open, but the wind felt so nice!"

Silverspectre blinked at the younger cat, before shaking his head to say that it was all right. At least no one was hurt. Well, he wasn't; the other cat wasn't big enough to bowl him over really. He blinked, gesturing towards her as if asking whether she was all right, before giving a light chuckle at her words. He could relate, at least. The wind wasn't too cold, it wasn't too hot, just a lovely breeze that reminded them that summer was on it's way. Not the cutting chill that would bite into their skin during the winter.
His tail lashed, a silent question as he looked to the other cat. While he didn't use his words, his body language was clear. Where was she heading anyway?

Chaipaw watched him carefully, trying to understand the best she could. While she was a serene cat, she wasn't always the brightest cat. "Hmmm what did I eat today? Uh... I think I had a mouse... Oh wait, you were asking where I was going, huh?" She gave a chuckle and shook her head. "To be honest, I was just trying to find a field of flowers to roll in but I got distracted. What about you?"

He chuckled; apprentices were always going a hundred miles an hour and really, he could relate, despite his rather calm demeanor. He blinked, before turning his head to look towards the lake, a gesture to the direction he had been heading towards. He had been planning on taking a look around, perhaps seeing whether there was any prey to hunt too. Glancing back towards Chaipaw, he tilted his head in a silent question: Did you want to come along?

"Oooh the lake..." She blinked over at the large, shimmering pool. "Yes, that sounds wonderful! I've only been there once with my mentor." The thought of walking along the shoreline made her heart flutter. It was always so wonderful to watch from afar, but being up close sounded even more amazing. The one time she had been, she found herself in so much awe that she completely missed her mentor's whole fishing lesson.

He smiled at the apprentice. The lake always seemed quite popular to the clan. It was beautiful and one of the places where everything seemed to slow down. He could remember the first time he had seen it after joining the clan; amazement had filled every fur in his pelt and he had wondered how much he hadn't seen yet, if there was a place that seemed almost endless with water. He chuckled quietly to himself; he really was sounding more and more like a grumpy old coot these days. He gave another gesture of his head, as if telling her to follow if she wanted to, claws slightly raking the ground as if eager to hunt.
He gave her a quizzical sound, to ask whether she had hunted around the lake that one time she had gone.
