Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bird watching should be the most relaxing date, however WinterClan had massive birds of prey such as the eagles and other large hawks that could carry creatures far bigger than cats. The date was to follow the hiking trail and listen to the birds discovering new prey while also being wary of the sky predators that could be looming above.
(Never, I think it's funny that we did a thread with Rabbitfolly and Frostcloud and now we just got chosen to do a blind date with another of our characters!)
Cloudfur followed the hiking trail they were assigned to go on through Winterclan territory. He had agreed to go on this date because he felt he needed to find a mate. Besides, this was suppose to help bo the Dayclan and Winterclan gain more members. Though, that didn't stop him from feeling nervous and awkward. He didn't know this cat at all and now he was suppose to woo her in which he wasnt very good at. If he was good at it, he would have already had a mate. Pushing the uneasy thoughts out of his mind, he began to admire the breath taking scenery. "Wow. It's so pretty in Winterclan." He complimented, looking around the territory. The cooler air felt good to him too. He was usually uncomfortable in Dayclan with his thick fur. It was always so warm in Dayclan but he had joined them in honor of his brother, Lionspirit, who had died in a battle with Primal Instinct while trying to protect Dayclan. He felt he owed it to his dead brother to join his clan. The large, white main coon found it easy to walk through the snow and the rocky paths. Perhaps Winterclan was where he was suppose to be this whole time. However, he wasn't sure if he could leave Dayclan.

(I was going to say the same thing! We have a second chance xD)
Aurorashine had signed herself up in an attempt to 'socialize', though she didn't hold out ope. The she-cat was self-assured, confident, and a complete loner. The fact that she even stayed in a clan sometimes amazed her. Still, she'd been convinced to give this a shot and it certainly was a bonus that her mother was furious about it. So when the morning came to meet this DayClan cat she'd set out with only mild optimism, deciding early that this would most likely be a wash.
The hiking trail was a familiar one to her, one most known for the birds. Both prey and predator. If they were lucky they'd even find the hawk nest that was rumored to be close by. They'd made introductions easily, he was Cloudfur, a surprisingly handsome and almost WinterClan-looking tom. "Yes," she agreed easily, looking around with an attempt at a fresh perspective. "It must be very different from DayClan, I'm told your territory is very colorful."
He nodded with a warm smile. "It is. The colors are beautiful but Winterclan has amazing rock formations. Dayclan is mostly flat land. We have occasional hills but nothing like this." He mewed as he looked up in awe at a sheer cliff they were passing on one side of the trail. "Have you live in Winterclan your whole life?"

"All flat land? It must be easy to move around, sometimes hunting is a pain here because of the incline." The white and brown cat nodded at his question, "yes, I've always lived here. I can't remember a time when I wasn't a little bit chilly. My mother says my pelt is almost too thin for our clan." Not that her opinion mattered, but Aurorashine knew better than to unload her disdain for her mother on a cat she'd just met. Especially one that she was going on a blind date with. "How about you? Always been a DayClan cat?"
"It is easier to move around in Dayclan territory which I suppose is kind of a good thing." He answered, his deep voice rumbling. "Uh, actually, no. I wasn't always Dayclan. I was a loner for moons. It used to be just me and my brother but we were separated and when I heard he was in Dayclan, I went to look for him. Unfortunately, I hadn't found him soon enough. Dayclan informed me that he had passed away. I didnt have anywhere to go from there, no reason to keep going. Lionspirit was my only family. So, in his honor, I joined Dayclan and have lived and served with them ever since." He was surprised that he had just let the words flow from his mouth without really thinking it through, first. He had only just met her. Why was he telling her his whole life story? She probably didn't want to hear about that. He began to panic a little inside. What did females like? He thought back on all the females he talked to in the past. They all seemed to like to talk about themselves. Perhaps he should talk less and listen more. "But, enough about me. My stories are a bit sad" he chuckled nervously. "Tell me more about you. What's your favorite prey? Flower? What do you do in your free time?" Suddenly, he felt hot under his fur. Great. Now he was asking too many questions.

Aurorashine listened closely, surprised by the sympathy she felt for this near stranger. Her family was complicated, but she had them. That was still a comfort despite their issues. She opened her mouth to respond but paused we he kept talking, switching back to more arbitrary topics. Fine, if he felt more comfortable with silly, surface questions she could do that. Still, she brushed her tail along his side sympathetically before responding. "Um, I like snow hares, they are both delicious and fun to hunt. I don't really have a favorite flower, they aren't something I notice really. And I don't usually give myself free time, but I suppose I just hunt when unsure what to do, so that's probably my answer." She had to admit her answers made her sound dreadfully boring. The usually confident she-cat felt very plain as she hastily moved on, "do you have any favorite things? Birds, prey, place? That kinda thing."
He felt comforted by the she-cat's brush, yet, it made his fur burn. She was just so pretty and her touch was so gentle. He forced a purr down that was threatening to rise. "Wow..." He responded with his ears perked as he hung onto her ever word. "I've never tried hare before. I'll have to try it some time." He didn't really want to talk much about himself but he quickly began to realize that every question he asked her, she gave him the same amount back. He supposed he would have to talk about him a little bit to make it a conversation. Besides, she probably wanted to know more about him for her own safety, comfort, and curiosity. "I don't have a favorite bird but I think Cardinals are pretty. And I like the taste of squirrel. But my favorite place would probably have to be the White Tree on Dayclan territory. It blooms in these beautiful white flowers and it's so peaceful. You can see the whole valley from there. I...can show you some time...y'know...if you want" he mewed awkwardly, darting his eyes around to avoid any eye contact. He was mostly afraid that she would turn him down or look at him like he was crazy or something.

(awe, funny you mentioned the white tree, when i was leader of dayclan i created a tragic legend about that tree, it was my favorite part of the territory <3)
"That sounds beautiful," she assured him, charmed by his nervousness. She liked that he wasn't presumptuous. It comforted her to know that he expected nothing from her, she didn't see herself as the type to fall in love and to feel no pressure from a cat she had been sent to perhaps fall in love with was comforting. "And I've never seen a cardinal, perhaps if I'm ever in DayClan I might see one?" She knew they were red, but in WinterClan you saw most grey and brown birds, nothing spectacular.

(i was leader a very long time ago, like 2014/15. It was a cautionary tale to warn against cross-clan romances, basically two warriors meet up at the White Tree, though it wasn't yet called that. The warriors were from different clans and were soon discovered by the leader of SunClan. Because this was a fictional tale the SunClan leader was very evil and told his warrior to kill Littlerose, in order to regain trust. His warrior wanted so badly to earn that trust back that he agreed. Littlerose fought to defend herself and killed Rockfoot. She then died of her wounds. Her kits had witnessed the whole thing, Littlerose had brought them to meet their father. As the kits wept over the body of their mother white flowers rained gently down on them. They'd begged StarClan to allow their mother in despite her misdeeds and they noticed soon after that the flowers carried her scent. They took that as a sign that she'd been allowed into StarClan. The last lines were, "And every year, the tree still blooms as a reminder that tragedy awaits for those who fall for a cat not of DayClan. But it also reminds us that there is peace for those who do." I was very proud of it at the time xD it later became my favorite part of DayClan's territory. Wow that was a lot I'm sorry to have rambled on x.x) "Well," she meowed, happy to have something interesting to tell him, "we have the hot springs. Most of WinterClan is cold, but by the hotsprings it's very warm and pleasant. Earlybloom sends a lot of our elders there to relax." Aurorashine thought it probably didn't sound as lovely as a white tree, but it was quite a thing to see, "maybe I'll show you soon, you have fur so thick I doubt you're freezing, but it's still nice to see."
(no need to apologise! I asked lol! But that is a super cool story!! I love that!! I'm surprised it didn't stick!)
Cloudfur lit up with interest. "Wow! You have a hot springs? That must be so nice to have during leafbare. I may have thick fur but it's not that thick. I'm sure I'll freeze in a blizzard" he responded with an amused twitched of his whiskers "I would love to see these hot springs some time!" He was really starting to warm up to her. Even if they didn't become mates, Aurorashine would be a good friend to have.

(yeah I've noticed legends and myths don't usually last much passed a leadership, the values of the clan changes with new leadership and the legends become irrelevant.)
"I'll definitely take you," Aurorashine promised, surprising herself with the truth of her statement. As a general rule for her she didn't make friends, promises, or lie about anything. She kept to herself, treated the world with disinterest, and went about her life. Rarely did she feel any sparks for anything. But she got a good feeling about Cloudfur. It made her feel light. She opened her mouth to ask another question but a bird called out close by and she looked up, spotting a nest close by. "Those are waxwings," she meowed, gesturing with her tail at the birds. They were and grey and white with a peachy look around their face, one of Aurorashine's favorites.
"Waxwings?" He squinted, trying to get a better view of the nest. "Ive never heard of Waxwings! How do you think they got their name?" He asked with an amused twitched of his whiskers.

"They like cold weather," she explained, "so warmer clans probably don't see them much." Aurorashine looked up at the birds, trying to see some obvious reasoning for such a name, "you know, I have no idea why they are called that." It was a pretty stupid name, if she was being honest. A stupid name for a pretty bird.
"I often wonder why anything is called anything. Like grass...what kind of word is grass?" He mewed, going too far into thought as he rubbed his chin with his massive paw.

"I feel like that about names sometimes. Like... my mother really looked at my sister and named her 'Northkit'. Where did that come from?" She laughed as she spoke, both because of him and the thought of some of the more silly names she'd heard.
"How did you get your name? Aurorashine." He asked, not really caring why her sister's name was Northkit. He wanted to learn more about Aurorashine. That name was so pretty and it felt so smooth on his tongue.

"Oh," Aurorashine considered the question for a moment, surprised he'd cared enough about her name to ask, "well my mother, Stormsurge, isn't the most gentle cat. So I'm not sure exactly why she named me Aurorakit. My siblings have names like Polarblast and Tundrafreeze, strong names. I sometimes wonder if Aurorakit was given to me because she just assumed I'd be weak. A gentle name for a gentle cat, you know? I've never asked her though. We don't speak much. And Wintrystar gave me -shine for my warrior name because she said I was bright and powerful, like a ray of sunshine that melts the ice of leafbare."
"And your leader is absolutely right" he mewed, feeling warm under his fur. "I don't think your mother named you because she thought you would be soft. Perhaps she named you Aurora to match your beauty." Wait. Did that just come out? He gulped nervously. "Er...I mean...you know, since a mother sees beauty in her kits no matter what." Oof...that sounded even worse. Was he now calling her ugly? Implying that she had a face that only a mother could love? No! But she probably took it that way. He slapped a paw over his face, knowing he was a screw up when it came to romance.
