FALLCLAN:
The night was quite lovely. Stars danced and twinkled in the sky like snowy white kittens and the moon shone brightly, bathing the ground in silver. The air sung of crickets and bats waking up and smelled of fresh grass and flowers. Spring was truly one of the most beautiful seasons. Calamitystar peered into the Gathering area, bummed to see that Fallclan was the first to arrive. Many would be proud being the leader of the pack, but he really wanted to start socializing with the other clans RIGHT THEN. Ughhhhhh. Plus, he was just an-itchin' to see Stormyblizzard, a.k.a his main boo, his gurl, his dime of a partner. He picked his way across the clearing to where the leaders usually sat (when they remembered to meet like this) and began shuffling his paws excitedly, eyes flicking between each little opening or crevice in the clearing in hopes that another clan would soon arrive. "Hysterrriiccplaguuueeeee, what's taking them so lonnnnggg? The Gathering was today right?" He sobbed to his deputy with an exasperated sniff.
Mythpaw walked alongside his siblings, amazed that they managed to beat the other clans there. Usually Calamitystar was late to everything... He silently wondered if the leader was a day late for the Gathering...
SPRINGCLAN The dusty pelted Springclan leader could hear the familiar whines of the Fallclan leader from the distance. He couldn't help but chuckle as he made he way through the forest followed by a group of Springclan cats. It had been far too long since the Springclan leader had seen the other mountain clans and particularly, Calamitystar who was pleasant enough company last time to leave a good impression on Thistlestar.
The leader was the first of the Springclan cats to step inoto the clearing, taking in the sight of a rather empty clearing before signaling to the rest of his clan to move forward with a simple flick of his tail. His long strides brought him to the Gathering's center rather quickly. "Calamitystar, it is good to see you again." He spoke, his deep voice thick with content. "I hope Fallclan has been thriving with the bounties of New-Leaf?"
Opalpaw followed closely to his mentor's side, careful to maintain a formal and calm image in front of the Fallclan cats. This was his first clan gathering and excitement boiled hot within him. It felt like a rite of passage. He straightened up more, his chest puffed with pride.
"Wow. Ya actually got 'ere first for once? If only you'd had that speed when markin' the treeline, Calamitystar..." A glimmer of playful antagonism shone in Ratstar's single eye as the lean tabby strode across the clearing, his clan following close behind him. The young tom was still as ragged as he always was, but carried himself with more pride and confidence than when he and Calamitystar last argued over their unreasonably long border, even despite this technically being his first gathering. He had the successful picnic and growing friendship with Springclan to thank for that. Of course, Swiftclan had been there too, completely uninvited, but they didn't seem like a bad crowd over all. His eye glanced up briefly at the moon full glowing brightly above them. He wondered if Chimerastar would be making an appearance tonight as well. He personally wouldn't be surprised. Taking a seat beside Thistlestar, the Summerclan leader gave him a toothy grin.
Seasparkleflash followed in behind his leader, looking around the clearing at the Fallclan warriors with interest. It had been a while since he was last at a gathering. He wondered what had been going on in Fallclan and Winterclan lately. A whimper caused the warrior to glance over his shoulder, where he spotted Largelight looking like a trapped rabbit ready to flee, wide eyes anxiously staring at the already large crowd of cats.
Largelight nearly jumped out of her fur when she felt a tail rest on her shoulder, though quickly relaxed when she saw it was just her clanmate. "Don't worry," Seasparkleflash reassured her. "This area's much larger than the Springclan border. There's more than enough space for everyone."
Technically they were not one of the mountain clans, but Chim had given up on technicalities a long time ago. The mountain clans had been helping look after his clan and he appreciated their (sometimes unwilling) efforts, so he decided they might as well blend in with the group and visit the gathering. Besides, he wanted to catch up on all the news, and if he was very lucky someone brought food to the gathering. That was unlikely, they never had before, but a leader could hope.
His entire clan in tow, Chim led the way down into the gathering place. They didn't have a good camp set up yet, so he'd just brought all of his small clan, including the little kits. Maybe that was a bad idea, but it was a tiny of peace, and Chim didn't give a damn. "Cal," he called warmly as SwiftClan entered the clearing, with an unrestrained grin. The gruff tom had discovered the other clans were a little more open to a cheerful leader than a cold one, and he was genuinely pleased to see the FallClan tom again. "Ratstar, Thistlestar, it's a pleasure to see you again," though his greeting remained as cheerful as he could manage, saying the words was worse than pulling out his teeth, and it was obvious.

Fallclan
"Thistlestarrrr!" Calamitystar purred gleefully as the Springclan leader arrived. He had always admired the calm, collected tom. If only he were that serene a fourth of the time... At least, he supposed Hystericplague wished that. "It's so good to see you! Yeah, Fallclan is doing great! The weather is nice, food is running, ya know, the works? What about Springclan? This is your season after all!" Before the other leader could respond, Ratstar and Chim's voice sounded in his ears and suddenly the whole clearing was full of a throng of cats ranging from old...to suspiciously young. "WOW the whole dang gang is here! My PALS." He threw his paws over the shoulders of whoever was nearest to him and tail over the third leader, casting a wink to Chim and a cheeky grin to the Summerclan leader. "Now all we need is Wintrystar to make her grand appearance and 'Cal and Pals' will be ready for fun!"
SPRINGCLAN The warm and happy welcome was infectious so much so that Thistlestar's usual, stern expression melted into a softer and happier one with a handsome side smirk. Gosh this Fallclan cat sure knew how to best him. As he opened his mouth to response, a pair of familiar voices spoke up, caughting both leaders to turn at the same time. The sight of the single-eyed leaders made Thistlestar clear his throat in an attempt to regain a more put together expression, but a small smirk remained. He followed the Fallclan leader. Unlike his counterpart, Thistlestar opted for a more composed and formal greeting, nodding respectfully to both Ratstar and Chimerastar, his gaze lingering longer on the Swiftclan leader. Though their clans shared time together in a picnic some time ago, there was still much to learn about the veteran leader, so much so Thistlestar still couldn't wholesomely trust the leader., but at this point in time, the Swiftclan leader had done nothing to jeopardize the little trust they built.
Thistlestar's deep green gaze trailed off to the complete clan that stood behind Chimerastar, noting even the smallest of kits. Thistlestar felt himself grow uneasy, his brows knitting slightly in a small moment of concern. He knew the rules of a Gathering and more than that, stood by it so to see the group of kits huddled around made the leader ponder "How has the hunt for a new camp gone?" Thistlestar remarked calmly, his gaze returning to Chimerastar.
Noticing Chimerastar appear almost as soon as he thought about Swiftclan, Ratstar gave the other one-eyed leader a friendly nod in greeting before Calamitystar had unexpectedly pulled him into an embrace. "You're in a good mood this evenin'," he remarked to the Fallclan leader with a purr of laughter. Honestly, he wasn't sure what he had been worried about to begin with regarding his neighbors; turns out he and Thistlestar got along great enough to plan a feast together, and while Calamitystar and him could butt heads at times, there was never any real malice behind it. Chimerastar he didn't know so well, but he was kin with several of his warriors, and he seemed to care about family enough not to jeopardize that. All of a sudden, the prospects for the coming Greenleaf seemed to be looking a bit brighter; plenty of prey an' nobody willing to fight over it.
Of course, Winterclan had yet to arrive. But he held out hope that there wouldn't be any need for conflict on that front.
"I keep tellin' ya, Thistlestar: they're vagabonds. I've seen similar stuff in twolegplace; gangs of cats that always keep on the move when food runs low. That's what ya goin' for, right Chimerastar?"
SWIFTCLAN Mistralpaw always felt a little awkward when her one-eyed leader had the group enter gatherings they weren't technically invited to, but enjoyed the company way too much to complain. She need some space from Firetooth, the cruel, unreasonable, foxhearted- She caught herself growling under her breath and forced a long inhale, closed her eyes, and let her temper simmer back down. Now was a time for peace and reunion. In fact, it was a great opportunity to meet with the other medicine cats and see if they were actually capable of teaching her something. She approached where the leaders, deputies, and medicine cats were seated with a self-assured strut that oozed confidence, ignoring the niggling in her chest that warned her this could be really embarrassing if she messed up. "Hi," she purred, waving her tail towards the group of cats that smelled most strongly of herbs, blindly hoping they were the medicine cats in question. "I'm Mistralpaw, medicine cat apprentice of SwiftClan. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Heathersong sprinted into the clearing behind Chimerastar, tail raised high in excitement. She would get to see her old clan so soon! Though her last visit had left a bad taste in her mouth - she would never get over her deep abiding hatred of Jayjack - she was glad to hear her old leader's jovial laugh and familiar antics. It seemed like FallClan was doing well - SpringClan and SummerClan too, for that matter.
FALLCLAN With slow, careful steps, Palestep entered the clearing, pelt gleaming in the pale moonlight. The most-blind she-cat moved like a wave rippling out from the center of a pond, slowly but with power. She had never been to a gathering, too shy and worried about making her clan look weak, but after some prodding from the kits she doted on, she decided to go. She was glad she went, too. Everyone seemed so happy, and the scent of all of the clans drew a smile to her face. Now she wondered where Suspendedillusion was - he was her companion during these things, after all.
SPRINGCLAN Cherrypaw's yip of excitement was heard before she broke from the treeline, her flame-red pelt streaking out into the middle of the clearing like a comet. "We're heeereeee!" she caterwauled, eyes bright. She was determined to make new friends and maybe even find a tom to fall madly in love with in some unrequited, cross-clan forbidden romance. "Psh," she laughed under her breath, "Yeah right, like that'll ever happen."
"It's... going," he replied to Thistlestar with a twitch of his ear. They had already chosen the location of their next camp, near the SpringClan border actually, but he didn't want to bring that up. He wasn't happy with his choice, but they had to stop and rest for a while before they moved on, and the neighboring clans had been generous with them so far. It wasn't a bad place, but he wasn't ready to settle down. "I suppose that is what we're doing now," he agreed tentatively, casting a curious side glance at the SummerClan leader. This wasn't the first time Ratstar had mentioned vagabonds, but he was seriously considering asking him more about it now. How did those cats travel so much but still remain healthy and happy?

FALLCLAN
Vagabonds. The word struck Calamitystar in a somewhat humorous way. Myabe instead of a rogue, he could have considered himself a vagabond. Nah, that sounded much too formal for his past...wanderings. "Heh. Vagabondclan. That sounds like a good name, huh? You should change it to that, Chim. Comeeee onnnn, you know you wannaaa." Cal teased, prodding the leader in the side where he could see. "Tell me, Ratstar, where did a cat...with your brains... come across a fancy shmancy word like vagabond?" There was a humorous, mischievous gleam in the ebony leader's eyes as he turned to wink at Ratstar.
