Oakshade had had his shiny new Warrior name for a few days now yet Tinymutiny was still avoiding him. Not straight up ignoring him like before; if he caught her eye they might share a couple of words, but for the most part it was brief and reserved. Oakshade was a very patient tom but this she-cat was really putting him to the test. He'd never been much of a lady's man so he wasn't sure exactly what to do at this point. Just wait for the right moment? He sort of wished his friend the Sun God would show up and give him some advise, that guy sure knew how to win hearts, but he seemed preoccupied with more pressing drama lately.
"Kissy, do you have any advise?"
He had grown pretty fond of the WinterClan Initiate lately. Presently she was all sprawled out next to him with a couple of Mistyrose's - or maybe Toots's? - kits lounging at her side, enjoying the sunny weather, "Advise for what?" She asked with a yawn, turning her evergreen eyes on him.
"How to get a date with Tinymutiny."
"Oh, that's easy, just beg and beg and beg and eventually she'll let you cuddle with her, and sleep on top of her, and she'll even cook you delicious meals." The caramel cream she-cat responded without taking a breath. She drew her tongue across one of the kits that rested between her paws, "It's so easy. Works every time."
Oakshade wasn't sure why he was asking Kissy of all cats for advise but something about how easy she made it sound struck a cord with him. Almost as if it were fate, he saw movement out of the corner of his eyes and turned to see Tinymutiny exiting the Warrior's den. He felt claws dig into his shoulder and turned back to see Kissy looking at him mischievously, "TINYMUTINY! EMERGENCY! COME QUICK!!!"

Tinymuitany
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiany had been doing her best to avoid Oakshade since the mate choosing ceremony and his initation. The small she-cat had been so embarrassed and confused by the proceedings, and she just couldn't deal with all the emotions that lied underneath her icey exterior. It was by far easier to push him away than to open her heart and deal with the flood of emotions that would follow.
She had waited in the warrior's den until she though Oakshade would be busy before leaving, she had only put one paw outside the den when she heard him scream for her. Her muscles bunched to race over until she saw that it was just Kissy. She straightened, scoffing "Can't even handle one she-cat?"
How had Kissy done that!? She had been the one calling for Tinymuntiny, not him, but the words that left her mouth was undoubtedly a near perfect mimic of his voice. Oakshade looked at her with a dumbfounded expression but she just winked at him then went back to grooming the kit between her paws who, for the record, was giving her the same look that Oakshade was. He felt his face burn in embarrassment as various other SunClan cats poked their heads out of their dens to see what all the commotion was about. Great, now there was an audience... actually... maybe this could work...
He got to his paws and padded over to Tinymutiny, crouched down as he always was to be at her level, and looked at her with a serious expression. He then dramatically threw himself on the ground at her feet, exposing an expanse of fluffy white fur, and moaned loudly for all to hear, "Oh, the pain! Just the sight of your makes my heart stop! Cruel, cruel world!" He rolled around a bit then twisted his head at an awkward angle, making an even bigger fool of himself, if that was possible, "If only you could help me, but you must be exhausted, since you're been running through my mind all day..."

Tinymuitany
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiany stared down at him blinking, concerned for a moment until the last words that he uttered as she felt the heat rise to her cheeks "Oakshade get up and stop acting like a kit" she sighed. He was being absolutely ridiculous, she had never seen a warrior act like that... Even if it was kind of cute. She really didn't know what to make of it all, she stepped over him to go on her way.
Oakshade sort of wanted to grab her leg just then but it really would be fueling the whole 'acting like a kit' insult, so he abstained and rolled back to his paws at her command. It took him maybe two strides to catch up with the shorter she-cat but he was beaming because she hadn't told him he couldn't come with her.
"It's a beautiful day for... hunting," He purred, his flank lightly brushing against Tinymunity. Oakshade was being awfully direct today but the fair weather and a glimpse of this she-cat was all it took to add a spring to his step, "Where are we going?"

Tinymuitany
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiany didn't pull away as he walked by her side, fur brushing against his. She had to admit that it felt nice and even though her ever instinct was screaming to push him away she hesitated.... Then it was really to late to do so without admitting that she had made a mistake so she allowed him to stay. Oakshade drove her crazy. She wanted to be close to him, but not to close. Wanted to keep him safe, but being with him put him in more danger. The storm of emotions always left her reverting back to her standard cold shoulder, keeping everyone at a distance. She had opened up to him once and it had almost cost him his life.... If he had been killed during initiation... she never would have forgiven herself. If she cared for him this much now, how much would it hurt when they were officially mates?
"I'm going to the ceremony springs" she replied shortly keeping her gaze firmly ahead as to not reveal the inner workings of her thoughts "You?"
"Sounds nice. I haven't been there since Initiation," Oakshade replied, making no change in his pace, if it wasn't clear already he wouldn't be leaving her side. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath and then exhaled with a big, stupid grin on his face. He was with the girl of his dreams, on what was basically a date, and he couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. The sun shined brilliant and unopposed in the cloudless sky leaving a pleasant ambient warmth not only on his pelt but the sandstone beneath his paws. It wasn't too hot, though, there was a pleasant breeze in the air that teased his fur from time to time and brought with it budding scents of springtime. Flowers, running water, even a taste of distant wheat.
The world was just so much more vibrant and lively beneath the Sun God's skies than back in his home territory. Nocturnal life was beautiful, too, but it was infinitely more lonely. Cold and sleepy, the Moon held her followers in a chilling embrace that was harder won than that of her brother's. He still cared for the Moon Goddess as any proper MoonClan cat should but he had lost faith in her in her absence from the Clan. He had never met her once in his entire life yet the Sun God had greeted him within the first couple days of his arrival, "Speaking of Initiation, what are the odds that Maplest- I mean Mapledawn and I had the same flame? Do siblings always match like that? I felt kind of bad for Lazulilagoon, hers wasn't near as flashy as all the rest, although all of us were outshone by Bloodyrondo. He sort of deserved it after all those hoops the poor guy had to jump though. I really feel for him, " He gave Tinymunity and mischievous look and winked at her, "At least I knew your mom liked me from the start!"

Tinymuitany
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiany listened as Oakshade babbled on, her pace never faltering eyes forward trying to ignore Oakshade's near magnetic presence. She knew that if she slowed down and gave into the feelings that her self-control might crumble "Oh that" the tip of her tail twitched as she thought about his initiation. She had been to relieved that he had passed to pay much attention, and then all the drama with Bloodyrondo and being tossed at Oakshade... But now that she thought about it the flames had been odd
"Lapizlazuli's flames were average really... It is the rest of you that were odd. However, the flames having nothing to do with you being siblings... well I suppose it did play a part" she crossed over the bridge that led to the ceremony springs, only wide enough to allow one of them to cross at a time before spinning around "Those flames were special. It means that SunClan blood flows in your veins, and that you have returned home"
"You're joking, right?" Oakshade laughed as he bunched his muscles and jump clear over Tinymutiny leap-frog style. The bridge was slightly elevated which made it easy and, besides, it wasn't like he was going to push her aside to get past, "I'm MoonClan pureblood, born and raised. The idea that SunClan let a few kits escape them a couple dozen moons ago is ludicrous. The flames must mean something else."
Sure, his parents had died before he was old enough to remember them and yeah, no one would tell him their names, but MoonClan was secretive. He had assumed they must have committed some kind of crime or had requested to not be known to their children as to not affect their future. His breath caught for a minute as he really thought about his bloodlines and he realized that yeah, this wasn't impossible... but... it seemed like it was?

Tinymuitany
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymuitany was forced backwards a step as Oakshade landed in front of her now blocking her path "Im far more inclined to believe that SunClan made a mistake than the Sun God" she blinked, as if the answer had been rather obvious "He can see right into your soul, and know things that you have hidden away even from yourself. If he says you have SunClan blood running through your veins, than you do. Like it or not"
"The only way SunClan would have let you slip through their claws, is if they didn't know of your existence . Someone went through a lot of effort to hide you"
This was supposed to be a date. Foxbane's blessing or not he wanted to officially become mates today and start their lives together for real. This discussion about his lineage, about his very blood, it wasn't really welcome. He wasn't the kind of cat to get caught up in the past, yet Tinymutiny would know him well enough to see the concern etched on his face. The longer he thought about it the more his tail drooped.
He wanted to know who his parents were. Were they even still alive? But Tinymutiny made a good point - he and his siblings must have been hidden. Why? Oakshade shook his head, "This is too heavy for a beautiful day like today. It doesn't change anything. I still love you. So... uhh... let's just get back to hunting..."

Tinymuitany
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
"Look I..." she snapped her jaw shut, stopping herself from saying the words that were dancing on her tongue. She had almost returned the sentence but managed to stop herself. "I think that is a good idea" she looked down at the ground and glanced up at the rows of herbs that the janus tended so carefully "we just need to be careful. All the plants here are herbs, and if we damage them their will be consequences" it was a delicate blanace of keeping the ceremony springs free of pests and not treding on the herbs
"Oh yeah, I was already lectured about this." Oakshade appreciated how Tinymutiny had dropped the topic so quickly. He knew that if Mapledawn or Cypressblaze were here there was no way they would have stopped where he did. Oh, that's right... did this mean that he would need to fill them in on it too...? No, surely Stridesplash would tell Mapledawn, and there was no point in sharing it with Cypressblaze because she wouldn't believe him anyway. He continued to stall out for a couple more moments before he noticed Tinymutiny looking at him expectantly and he came back to earth, "That's right, we are hunting, let's do this."
Oakshade tasted the air for prey but as usual was overwhelmed by all of the unfamiliar herbs. The ones grown in MoonClan were not nearly this populated and many of them didn't even grow on the territory. It was overstimulating. Still, he had had practice here, and he quickly narrowed his attention slightly northward. Rabbits, it seemed.
"So, do you feel like chasing or catching?" He gave her another one of those smiles, "I'm pretty good at chasing, but I'll leave the decision up to you, princess."

Tinymuitany
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymuitany stared at him for a moment like he was out of his mind. She was used to hunting on her own, so she didn't understand what he meant by chase or catch. She shrugged "Both I suppose, or we will go home empty pawed, and stop calling me that. I'm not a princess" she insisted, turning her back to him and giving him the cold shoulder as she moved off towards the rabbits without waiting for him at a quickened pace. Shc circled round, positioning herself favorably with the wind blowing towards her. They were none the wiser as each step brought her closer and closer
"Sorry, sorry." Oakshade had always thought the pet name was cute, especially with the way it made the she-cat's whiskers twitch in distaste. Yet, the more he got to know her and her Clan, the more he began to realize that perhaps he really aught to drop that particular term of endearment. It was no secret that Tinymutiny and her mother were estranged and, due to her mother's status as a former High Priestess, it did kind of make Tinymutiny a princess. He frowned for just a second before following after the small gray she-cat as carefully as he could manage.
Oakshade almost always hunted in groups but it seemed Tinymutiny, like with most things, preferred to do this on her own. The trick to hunting rabbits and, really, the only way he knew how to hunt them, was to do this as a team. One cat flushed, one cat killed. Easy in theory but a very common test for apprentices because it was a great way to build teamworking skills. Oakshade was shoulder to shoulder with Tinymutiny now and gave her a playful nudge, "Let's try hunting my way, okay? If we're going to be mates we've got to be a team, and there's no better way to put that to the test than by really hunting together. If we can't do this much than we'll be hopeless raising kits someday!"

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiny had tensed, ready to launch herself towards the rabbit when suddenly Oakshade appeared at her shoulder as she fought to hold herself back. Impulse control wasn't exactly her strong suit, but there was something about the tone of his voice that he made her hesitate, but it was the words that he spoke that really stopped her in her tracks...mates?kits? He heart nearly bottomed out in her chest and stopped beating all together. Sure she really like him and wanted to perhaps become mates with him eventually, but where was all this talk of kits coming from?
She became flustered, dropping out of her crouch as heat rose to her face "Your way..." her fur bristled and it almost appeared that he was the one she was about to attack as her ears pinned against her head. Her lips turned out upwards, but instead of a hiss she let out a sigh "Fine, fine..."
That was a lot easier than he had expected, but he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth, "I'll flush the rabbits, then. You're a lot faster than me and catching them is usually the trickiest part... although if they do make it into one of their dens we may have to re-strategize." Oakshade looked ahead and could see a couple of large rabbits up ahead. They hadn't realized the two of them were there yet and, due to the sandstone cliffside, he should easily be able to go up a level and circle around them. He looked back to Tinymutiny, "I'm going to chase them into the more narrow part of the path, so you should hide over there. I'll make a lot of noise when I give chase so you will know when I'm coming. Good luck!" He touched his nose to hers and padded off abruptly.

Oakshade was in place. In front of him were two plump wild rabbits munching on what was sure to be some precious SunClan herbs. They had no idea he was there; the tom could be surprisingly stealthy when he was trying to show off for his girl. From this angle he couldn't see Tinymutiny but he knew where she was supposed to be and that was good enough. He watched, he waited, and then he sprung; the two rabbits immediately bolted in different directions so he picked one and herded it toward the path he had indicated earlier.

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
Tinymutiny shrugged moving into position along the path. The whole thing seemed really silly, if the clan needed two warriors to catch one rabbit than they would never get ahead on their hunting. But Oakshade wanted her to do this, so she went along with it. She had just settled in as his yowl reached her ears. She could see the rabbit coming toward her at top speed, seriously? Wouldn't have been easier to just jump on it while it wasn't moving? Luckily Tinymutiny was used to moving fast, as the rabbit neared it had been so focused on him that practically all she had to was hold out her paw and let the rabbit do the work as she quickly ended it
(I think it's so cute how she thinks it's stupid because it kind of is but she goes along with it anyway lol)
"Good job!" Oakshade caught up with Tinymutiny quickly. He was all out fo breath but he was happy to see that his mate hadn't been hurt or overworked. He rubbed his face against hers with a purr rumbling in his chest. He could tell that she wasn't so keen about this idea but it spoke volumes that she was willing to entertain it, "See? It's so easy when you work together. I saw where the other rabbit went and I think we can get it out of its burrow if you want to try. What do you think?"

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
(I have always thought it was stupid unless you had several warriors waiting to catch)
Tinymutiny shrugged trying not to offend him by saying that she could have caught the same rabbit in half the time had she not had to wait on him to circle around and to get into position "It gets the job done" She knew things here in SunClan were very different so if took running around like a mouse-brain to make him happy than so be it. As long as she didn't have to do it in front of the rest of the clan "What did you have in mind?"
