Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The feast was a massive undertaking and the Aurulent was not convinced it was strictly necessary. Yes, their clan was struggling for prey, and the others had offered to provide some... along with some much-needed company according to Calamitystar... but now they had many more mouths to feed with the same limited supply of food, and they were inviting trouble right into their Harvest Hall. He didn't trust the rumors about the other two clans and in his opinion, they had not brought enough prey with them to make it worth the journey, but at least one of the clans seemed to be worse afflicted than theirs. Those SwiftClan cats were nothing but trouble.
Jayjack growled low in his throat as he faced down the kit, his legs stiff and hackles raised. "So you thought you were going to steal another piece of prey and think nobody would notice, huh?" he seethed. "Don't you think the rest of us need to eat?! No! Because you're so SELFISH you can't see in front of your own nose!"
Luckykit cowered before him, the SwiftClan kit shaking his head frantically. "N-no, I was going to bring it t-to-"

"I believe that he did." A firm, female voice came from behind Jayjack, a growl rumbling in her chest. "And you'll do well to listen. Step back, Jayjack, and leave the kit alone." Heathersong had been overjoyed to be back in her old clan's camp, taking in the sights and sounds of FallClan she never thought she would get to experience again. The SwiftClan cat had been hesitant to leave FallClan for SwiftClan at first, but the change was a welcome one. Though she missed her old friends and family, she didn't regret her choice. Now, though, she was actually glad to be out of a clan where such a rude, bullying tom could hold the title of Aurulent.
"Luckykit, come here," she murmured, not taking her gaze from Jayjack. Her tail lashed angrily behind her, fire in her eyes. "You've done nothing wrong. Why don't you run off and find some nice FallClan kits to visit with? There are some really cool stories about FallClan I bet they could tell you." After taking in her own litter, the she-cat's protective instincts had kicked in full tilt. It took everything in her not to dash at Jayjack and give him a taste of her claws. Turning to the tom, she growled, "What kind of cat bullies a kitten, for StarClan's sake?"
Luckykit could have cried in relief to hear the familiar voice behind him. He scrambled backward to hide between her legs and leaned against her with a thin whine. He really didn't mean to upset anyone, he was just hungry and he'd given most of the last piece of prey to his friends. Comforted a little by Heathersong's righteous fury, he gave her a tiny nod and crept away from the pair.
His head snapped up sharply as he spun on her, his eyes narrowing as he steadily dissected her with his cruel gaze. "Come slinking back to us on your belly, Heathersong?" The kit was forgotten as he stared her down, his lips pulling back in a sneer. Jayjack didn't take kindly to cats interrupting him or questioning his discipline, especially when they were traitorous clan-changing scum. He stalked closer to her, lowering his muzzle close to hers. "What makes you think we'd ever take you back? That kid needs discipline before he grows up thinking he's entitled to our prey. He needs to learn some respect. But I suppose they don't teach that in this new clan of yours... that's why you're back here begging for help, right?"

Heathersong's gaze followed Luckykit until she was sure the tom was far enough away not to hear the explosive exchange. Whipping her head back to Jayjack, her eyes narrowed and her claws sank into the ground. "I didn't know Calamitystar allowed his warriors to question his decisions to openly, especially his most treasured Aurulent." She didn't step back when he got in her face, holding her ground despite her tiny stature. "We have come to visit, to strengthen our ties, and to offer companionship to a clan that's apparently devoid of anyone capable of saying a kind word."
Truth be told, it did burn a little to have to come back to FallClan, half-starving and in need, but she knew the majority of her old clan was kind-hearted and didn't see it as an imposition at all. Still, Jayjack couldn't be allowed to walk around intimidating their kits out of a misplaced anger. "You're insecure, Jayjack. You feel the need to build yourself up by tearing others down. It's sad, really, but I understand. What I don't understand - and won't tolerate - is your need to do so to kits. Are you really so small-minded that you aren't even confident in your ability to take on cats your own size?"
His confidence was unshakable. Jayjack wasn't a cat easily swayed from his opinions, and he had already decided this match would be in his favor. They were in his territory, he was in the right, and she was just another pathetic clan-crossing fleabag. "Why do you think he made me Aurulent, Heathersong? Cal values my opinion, and he knows I will always provide him the right feedback. Unlike your sort, we aren't offended by criticism." Victory in his eyes, he was rather proud of exposing her hypocrisy like that; she was just proving his point, that their clan was far too sheltered and coddled by their warriors with all these newfound ideas of 'positive reinforcement' and 'treating apprentices with respect.' Some cats needed a firm paw, but her snowflake warriors were too weak to accept healthy criticism, and they cried every time they were told they were wrong. He knew his leader was different, though, and Cal respected Jayjack's strength and wisdom.
"And you're blind, Heathersong, just like all the other corrupt cats in your clan!" His voice raised as he whipped around to face her again, addressing her in a firm condescending tone. "You think I'm tearing others down? I'm teaching him respect and manners! Kits that think they're entitled to prey grow up into thieving warriors that are too lazy to hunt so they just leech off everyone else. Weak cats, ones that won't defend their clan and ignore orders, cats that steal prey and break the warrior code for no reason! I AM SAVING THAT KIT FROM A LIFE OF CRIME!" he thundered.

"My sort?" she growled, raising an eyebrow at the comment. "My sort is the same as yours, no matter how much you wish it weren't true, Jayjack. The same blood that runs in your veins runs in mine. Don't delude yourself into thinking you're somehow superior to me in any way. Corrupt? Are you quite sure you're not projecting a bit?" She bit back the vitriol threatening to fill her voice, instead glaring at Jayjack with murderous intent before forcing herself to cool down.
"I'm not going to stand here and trade insults with one such as you when there is better company to be had in your clan." She didn't even mention his comment about saving Luckykit from a life a crime. The tom-kit was one of the sweetest she'd ever met and it was Jayjack's prediction of Luckykit's future that cemented Heathersong's opinion of the tom in her mind. "You shame the warrior code by attacking a kit in the way that you did. I hope StarClan punishes you for your actions accordingly."
