Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Flamingstar let out an insincere chuckle. "Yeah, maybe. I doubt it, though. They've been in an alliance forever and Dayclan doesnt care about Nightclan. They even called us Emoclan." She exhaled in a long sigh. "I feel like I'm failing my clan..."
"It's not your fault they've cheated. SunClan's a power house and Primal Instinct is as cruel as they come. I've been following the logic lately and I think Glowstar teams up with SunClan and Primal Instinct because no one can mess with her except for them. She puts up with them because she knows their every move, if she had us as a problem we wouldn't be as easy to predict. She literally chose her poison to drink and has built up a tolerance for it..." He looked at Flamingstar and could see the disappointment in her eyes. He bit the inside of his cheek as he tried to think.
"We can always try and kill Glowstar, but unfortunately that probably won't change your situation. DayClan's all nice and stuff, they would respect you if you started being nice," He seemed to be thinking hard and then let out a gasp, "Hey I actually know a few people that could probably curse DayClan. Maybe we could curse them until they apologize for how they've treated NightClan and then DayClan will learn their lesson and back down to you from then on. That way you get the apology and respect you deserve while also being fair because the curse could be lifted anytime so long as they give you a good apology. I mean it, I know people who can help with that, plus they'll probably learn to respect your clan more than SunClan who just makes DayClan suffer no matter how hard they plead."
Flamingstar thought long and hard about Kotori's proposal but as much as she was willing to go through with it, it would only make Dayclan hate Nightclan more. "I dont think so, love. As much as I want Nightclan to be respected, I don't want them to be hated. Besides, I'm losing more and more of my clan because of the useless battles I've been dragging them into. I have no respect from my own clan. How can I demand respect from others? The clan is worn out from all this drama. We need a blessing. Something that will make us strong again. We are increasing in numbers as more prisoners are becoming initiates but...having more members isnt going to gain the respect we crave from the other clans. At times like this, I wish we did have a greater being looking out for us."
Kotori placed his paw over Flamingstar, "You have StarClan and maybe they're not some some great being, but... When you as a leader rely on a great being, you're not a real leader anymore, that God is the leader. You're struggling to do a Gods work, that's what being a leader is, having no one to lean on. Gods have it easy, they have powers and can make others love them, you don't, but you can lean on me and when times are bad you can remember that it's just a time in your life and it will pass. Things are hard because it should be hard, I'm glad you're not like Winter, Sun, or Moon who just let a God do all the work for them. What you're doing, I have full respect for you. You love this clan and when you do earn their respect it'll be all yours and not shared by some higher being taking all the credit for your hard work."
Kotori licked her cheek comfortingly, "You're right about the drama though. Maybe all you need to do is to get acquainted with your warriors, spend time one on one so they can get to know you. Without a group of warriors signalling for that person to judge you. They'll be able to make up their own and you'll each be free to express yourselves. I'm certain if they got to know you outside of you leading all the time that they would be more likely to follow your leadership."
Flamingstar snorted. "Starclan. What have they done for Nightclan recently? Oh, right. They cursed this blasted territory in fog!" She took a deep breath to calm herself. "But your right. I dont want someone else running my clan. I worked hard to get where I am." She closed her eyes, feeling comforted by Kotori's lick. "A long time ago, I was once innocent. I had big dreams and high hopes. But...my 'friends' laughed at me because I couldnt hunt. I always fell into holes, ran into trees, fell from branches. I was a joke and they all laughed. And what's worse is that my dream had always been to be leader just like the great Moonstar where my bloodline comes from." She looked away. "But what was a leader if I couldnt provide for my clan? So, I tried harder. Instead of hunting, I learned to fight. My battling techniques were so advanced, it scared my mentor. Suspicions that I was training with the Dark Forest started spreading. No one trusted me, everyone was afraid of me." She looked into Kotori's eyes once more. "That's when I decided. If everyone was going to see me as shifty and untrustworthy, why try to be anything else? Friendship failed me, Kotori. My friends abandoned me when things got tough. I didnt become leader to make friends."
Kotori looked around as though he were just noticing the fog and seemed to carry an oh yeah, expression. He smiled softly, charmed by Flaming's emphasis of when she was innocent. She was still innocent to him, but what did he really have to compare it to? In the Regime every leader was strict and cracked down hard on their soldiers and in the league there were clear brutal dictators. To him Flamingstar was just being a good leader making tough calls. No one in the Revolution Groups would ever dare say she was cruel, but rather fair. In the clans it was an entirely different world though. "If your friends abandoned you than they were never your friends to begin with," He said placing his black paw over her fiery paw like the night sky encapsulating the sun, "Believe what you like, but you're honestly not that bad Flamingstar," He smirked before nuzzling into her playfully, "You're just overly stubborn and bad at listening to beautiful wisdom from handsome princes such as myself," He said with a princely gesture of his paw towards himself.
Flamingstar's ears lowered and her eyes rounded while a pretty smile played at her lips. Her smile only grew when he nuzzled her and she couldn't hold back the chuckle that slipped passed her jaws. "What would I do without you?" She purred, giving him a lick on the cheek. He always seemed to know what to say to make her feel better. She wasn't sure if she was actually being a good leader but she supposed that if he thought she was, that was good enough for her.
"I don't know what you would do without me, but I also don't know what I would do without you. Maybe it's a little cocky to say, but someday's I just feel like we saved each other," Kotori admitted with a shy sliver of a modest smile. Usually he always had an air of slyness about him, but in this moment there was a softer nature to him.
