Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Fairytalekit had recently been away from his littermates for a full day while being checked out by Brakewings their medicine cat. He originally went in because he had gotten a large gash along his leg when he tumbled into a sharp rock, but now it was discovered that he had no nerves. Which meant he would have no idea if he was hurt or how high his pain tolerance was. Fairytalekit had always been a bit off though, he spoke normal, but his tics set him a part. The way his head jerked and neck twisted like something was stiff. But now it was hard to tell if that was a result of the inability to feel or something entirely different. However after a long day and night of being tested on Brakewings had promised him that he could grow up to be his medicine cat apprentice and wanted to share it with his siblings.
Fairytalekit walked back over to the nursery with his tail that had far too much hair held high, "Hey everyone," He greeted to his siblings. Bandaged up along the side of his injured leg were cobwebs, "They said I can still play, but not too roughly until at least a few days pass, but I'm okay now." In his kit mind he was more than okay. He had thought his weird tics would be a disadvantage, but finding out that he couldn't feel pain felt like a good thing.
Magickit lifted his head as his brother approached, yellow/amber eyes moving from his bandaged leg to his face with a smile. "I'm glad you're back and okay, you have to be bored after spending all day in the medicine cats den so what do you want to do?" The young tom was a bit oblivious to certain things and so he hadn't notice the lack of pain from his brothers injury, therefore he could see no issue.
"Welcome back, Fairytalekit," Divinekit said, gentling touching her nose to her brother's, which was actually a pretty big step for her as she usually avoided frivolous touch. She had a placid expression on her face when she pulled away and faced Fairytalekit directly, head slightly cocked in curiosity. Her eyes had very recently taken color to reveal two different gilded shades: one a honeyed amber, the other a silvered copper. She had always been difficult to read but now she was borderline mystifying. Unnerving. As she aught to be, given she was an Eerie. It was hard to guess what she was feeling presently but the corners of her lips were turned just slightly upward, hinting at a smile, and her cute little tail pointed straight up toward ceiling, "How was Brakewings? He sure kept you an awful long time."
"He never really let me rest, he just kept poking and prodding me so I guess Brakewings was just really curious about me. But guess what!? That all paid off because then this other cat said I could be really useful because it turns out I have this super power where I can't feel pain. That means you could hit me with a brick and I'd still be standing," Fairytalekit said proudly even though what he described was invulnerability, not numbed nerves like he had, "And so now they said I get to be medicine cat apprentice. Right now I'm young, but they said I can start helping out now and do official work when I'm an apprentice."
It looked like he should be puffing out his chest with pride in this moment, but instead he was sheathing and unsheathing his claws so quickly it almost looked like it must hurt. But of course it wouldn't. He was excited looking back and forth for his siblings reactions. It was so exciting to know that they would be in battle and he would be right there waiting for them to help out any wounds they might have.
Divinekit made a little bit of a pouty face, "What a waste, you'd think they'd put a cat who can't feel pain on the front lines, no one would be able to take you down! But I'm excited for you to be a medicine cat, that's cool too. You may even get to meet that Sun God everyone keeps talking about! Maybe you already did. Was he the other cat you mentioned? The one that wasn't Brakewings?" She took a step away from Fairytalekit to give him a little it more space, but her head was still cocked. Her expression returned to what it had been when he first approached.
"No," He said with annoyed disappointment, "I wish, that the Sun God guy sounds cool, although our new deities are pretty cool too. Did you hear that Pandora brought a kit back to life? I hope we get to keep all three deities so that way we're even cooler than SunClan! The cat I met though is named Yellowmoon, she used to work for WinterClan, she's a StarClan angel working with Brakewings. So I guess I also hope we also have StarClan. Wouldn't that be cool having all the heavens on our side? Maybe I can be the bridge between all three!"
"Now that sounds interesting! It probably really will take a special cat who can't feel any pain to do something like that. My ears are still ringing from last time Everlastingfire lectured me about throwing rocks," A habit she had picked up from her mother, of course. Seemed to be a sore subject for that pseudo-God, "But I've never heard of Yellowmoon. If she's a StarClan angel then that means she was alive at some point, right? We should try and find out what kind of cat she used to be!"
Divinekit was excited about the plan, but unfortunately she had no idea where to take it from here. DayClan had no elders committed to storytelling like other Clans did. She decided to let Fairytalekit take the lead from here on out. Medicine cats were supposed to be psychic or something, right?

"Ah, the feelings of pain. Once they riddled you with despair, now you get to cast those chains off. How fleeting." Princekit held a paw to her head, half blocking her face as she delivered her line in a voice oddly deep for a kit. Course, no one was really around to fond over the little cream kit who's big words always impressed the queens. Even if she just jotted them down from the stories Goldenphantom told them. Her siblings were used to her, quirks. Not that she even batted an eye as she approached Divinekit and Fairytalekit. "A bridge between the three, huh? How amazing. Tying the ties they had once severed. How beautiful. I could almost cry."
Fairytalekit went down into a play position, his tail wagging back and forth with excitement as he sprang up, "Yes! Divinekit, that's a brilliant idea, we should go discover Yellowmoon's past, it'll be a grea-"
His mouth suddenly opened a jar, beginning to drool slightly as his sister Princekit began to speak. Zoning out his thoughts blurred between actual conceptualized imagination to mind numbing nothingness. When Princekit finished his blue gaze brightened up again, "Yeah! All great points Princekit and I think what you're also trying to say is that we should definitely uncover the shrouded history of Yellowmoon. I heard she's from WaterClan so I think we should go sneak and explore the dead lands," He said with a wide excited smile.
Divinekit didn't really understand what Princekit was trying to say. She was a smart kit, sure, but erred closer to average than genius. While she understood the general concept of things like life and death, she was not quite at the developmental level to join that discussion, much less comment on the beauty of it all. It was a whole lot easier - and entertaining - to try and discover the secrets of Yellowmoon than to sit here and philosophize.
So, Divinekit returned Fairytalekit's playful downward dog, kind of. The ginger-and-white she-cat wasn't very playful in nature so it really just looked like she was stretching, "Yeah, let's go explore the dead lands, I think that is a fantastic idea. I don't think any patrols are out right now anyway so as long as we can get out of camp unnoticed we should be able to get there easily. Are you coming too, Princekit?"

Somewhere, Princekit knew she was mostly tuned out. A shame when she wasn't given her pats on the back or squeals from the others. Still, she didn't appear fazed by it, amber eyes as clear and confident as ever. She didn't crouch, preferring to stand straight where her gangly legs actually made her look pretty and not awkward. "Ah, of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world." She purred, ignoring Divinekit's error.
Fairytalekit led the way, immediately having no idea where he was going, but in stories like this the heroes just sort of found their way right? He unsheathed his tiny claws and cut down large strands of grass like they were moving through a jungle when in fact they were in a tall meadow. Although given DayClan's towering stalks of foliage it was quite the jungle for them when entire warriors could go missing behind the luscious green plants. He sniffed the air, not entirely sure what he was looking for, but when his paws felt like falling off he realized they had to be there.
Up ahead were dark rocky grounds, the life here looked devoid of any water. Even the river from DayClan going into this new land looked skinny and dry. This was the scary part before they found out the truth, of course! "Hey guys, I think this is it!" He cried.
(Sorry for skipping the walking scene, if you want more walking we can do it going forward xD)

Even in the bravado, it became clear the further they walked, the more unnerved Princekit got. Everything looked the same, each blade of tall grass. The sky above them didn't bother to change either. For all she knew, they were walking in circles. Least till the dirt beneath her paws began to loosen and she came up to Fairytalekit's side. The decrepit field in front of them was sad, with hardly a sign of life. Even at her brother's joy, she felt her heart sink a little. Course, if they could bring life back, it'd be beautiful. Fleeting. But as it was, and the idea of crossing it left her to swallow something that formed in her throat. "Ah, are you positive, Fairytalekit?" Her tiny voice wavered.
"I mean, if I had to call it something I'd call it dead lands, wouldn't you?" Divinekit replied, her tone even as always, calm. If anything, she was curious why it was so dry and decrepit even now, seasons after the disaster. It had rained for moons since then giving the dried out pools plenty of time to refill yet it seemed they were cursed and unable to hold water any longer. She dug her front paws into the brittle soil and it crumpled at her touch, almost like sand although not quite so fine. She turned her odd-eyed gaze back to Fairytalekit, "Any traces of WaterClan should be long destroyed, although maybe their camp isn't. I heard it used to be in caves. Maybe we should try looking for it next."

Caves? That sounds like it'll be even worse. They could at least be found out here, by their worried parents and hawks alive. Princekit was sure something flew over her, but the sky was clear when she looked up. "M-Maybe it'd be best to check out here, just in case." She couldn't stop her voice from shaking.
"It has to be up ahead, once you walk past the scary things then it clears up into something life changing. That's how all the stories go," He said, because how else could the world work? It wasn't like everything was random and no one had control of anything. He looked back at Divinekit, the caves could be it, but... The caves here kind of looked scary, nothing like the cave mouths back in DayClan's camp. They had light that filtered in and reflected color against the shimmery walls, here it was just dark...
"Well," Fairytalekit decided before looking up ahead, "Yeah I guess we can go into that cave over there, it's pretty narrow, but we're small, it won't be a problem."
Divinekit padded toward the narrow cave. She wasn't the leader type but she didn't care much for discussion. In other words, if a decision needed made, she was happy to make it, "If the cave leads to nowhere we can always back track. We just need to be careful. Make sure that your whiskers are always brushing the wall on the right side of the cave. That way we can follow that same wall back out and won't get lost." She slipped into the darkness without glancing back to see if the other two kits were following her.

"Just because it's in a story doesn't mean it's t-true though." Princekit stammered, not even considering the hypocrisy in her statement as her paws shook. This was only getting worse of an idea by the second, especially as Divinekit and Fairytalekit stepped into one of the caves. The last kit outside looked up at the top of it, unable to not see those rocks above her like teeth ready to crush her. She gulped, and by the time she looked down her siblings were almost out of sight. Maybe she could have left, but hearing the leaves rustle behind her, she leapt into the cave. "Okay, wait don't go ahead without me."
