Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
So in order to help our members get more involved with training threads, the staff thought it would be fun to a create a thread for all of the new mentor/apprentice pairs with a mission to break up the monotony of traditional training threads. You may still create a tradition training thread in addition to this one if you so desire. This is not required for promotion, but I do encourage you to have fun and use this thread as a basis to build a strong mentor/apprentice relationship between your characters. YOUR MISSION: Sunlesspaw[Phantom] and Swiftfire[pLuto] your two characters have been tasked with going into the desert whasteland and bringing back a sidewinder. A sidewinder is a VERY venomous snake that SunClan sometimes encounters on their eastern border. In order to create an antidote to it's bite, it is imperative that Littlerstar and the Janus are able to study the creature's venom closely. However much care must be taken, for if bitten you will only survive with immediate intervention of an experienced healer and a LOT of luck. So keep you witts about you, and tread lightly through the sands.
even your shadow leaves you when you're in the dark
Sunlesspaw was excited for the chance to be apart of such a dangerous mission, having been in a more then normal funk mood since her half brother was promoted to warrior without her and her guardian leaving Sunclan without a word to her just days before the initiates ceremony. Now though she would be able to prove she was more than capable, and that no matter how much she had relied on Epictetus she could think for herself; now it fell to her mentor, would Swiftfire be able to put up with her and possibly help her to become her own person or would she forever be reliant on those around her. "Swiftfire! When can we go?" Her voice was lighter than normal, it held no snarky attitude...yet.
A sidewinder, eh? Link taught me about those some time ago... Thinking back to past experiences he thought about how to best approach the mission. Although he knew it would be a difficult task, he was looking forward to it. Swiftfire's ear twitched at the sound of his name of his voice being called. Turning his head toward the source, he saw that it was Sunlesspaw. He gave her a friendly smile. "Ahh, Sunlesspawn, my apprentice. I assume you've heard about the mission we were tasked." He glanced back toward the camp entrance then back to her. "If you think you're ready to go, we can head out now!"
Sunlesspaw smirked when her mentor questioned her readiness, she may not know the full danger of their mission but she would figure out and get the job done. It wasnt news that the snake they were after was extremely poisonous, but she had never encountered one and wasnt quite sure how to catch it, but that was all part of learning, it just so happened this learning experience could also kill her. "I'm more than ready!" She said a little too loudly as she walked beside Swiftfire. "Have you ever run into a sidewinder before?"
Swiftfire nodded. "I have actually, yes, but only a handful of times," he meowed, thinking back to those experiences. Link's lessons on dealing with the serpents stuck with him ever since then. If it hadn't been for Link's teachings, he would have definitely been a goner. "They're extremely dangerous. Faster than anything else I've encountered during my time as a loner." He thought back to a memory of a close encounter and the lesson learned from it. "When we're out there, remember to keep your senses about you. "
