(This would take a place probably a few days after the romance mate festival)
He had just finished talking with Littlestar and Bloodyrondo when he was assigned the task of being SunClan's ambassador to spread the Sun God faith to Renegade Regime. That should have been a deal breaker, but he wasn't about to refuse when Renegade Regime needed him. Not to mention that Littlestar was the one who requested this in exchange for leaving, he would never let her down. His paw moved uncomfortably down and up his arm as memories of two nights ago came into his mind. When he lost all feeling and asked if he should kill Littlestar for Bloodyrondo. When the darkness crept into him it wasn't like he shut down it was like a different part of him woke up, distorting his heart. His claws briefly pierced him waking him from the bad memory, it would be okay now. His family always told him that if he chose to neglect that violent side of himself it would be a long and treacherous road. But his family in Renegade Regime hardly ever broke, he knew it was because of their disciplined structure. If he went back and forth between Sun and Regime he would be ensuring nothing like that night would ever happen again.
"Lights," Duskslayer called to her from the warriors den, his head peering in for her brandishing the sapphire necklace she had given to him. He had no idea she had participated in the romance festival.

It had been several days since the mate choosing ceremony, the day she been so humiliated in front of everyone. She had ran with the other she-cat's but no one had come after her.... As she neared camp she wandered waiting on dusky, but he had never showed. She had waited and waited, until the sun had risen the next morning. No one had come after her... The only thing that had made it bearable was that there had been so much other drama during the ceremony that most of the clan hadn't noticed.
Since that day, she hadn't even seen him causing her to fall into a deep depression. She had truly thought that he was the one, and after dropping all those hints he had still not showed up. She laid tightly in a ball, her back to the entrance of the warrior's den refusing to even acknowledge his presence.
"I know you're not deaf," He said playfully, but his head tilted when her ebony body didn't move up. He walked up to her nest, "Hey, what's-"
His white paw raised her chin up, but he could already see her expression even in the dark. She held herself so tightly like she was about to crumble under the weight of the depression weighing down on her. He could see it even in her blind eyes, the distinct traces of betrayal. His paw was stiff beneath her chin before slowly withdrawing it away. "Who did this to you?" He whispered lowly, "Tell me. I'll never let them hurt you again."
This time there was less resentment on his side, an urge to compromise with the dark seeded rage in his heart to dominate, hurt, slash, unthinkable acts.

"You already know they answer to that" she finally replied after a few moments of silence between them laying her head back down on her paws lightly, not really offering any sort of real answer. Even though the words made her heart thrum in her chest she tried pushing it away. She was supposed to be angry with him, and she wasn't just going to let him strut in here after treating her like that and melt down her icy barrier with his sweet words and loving touches "You shouldn't make promises you can't keep"
"Why are you trying to make this into a riddle who-"
Duskslayer paused, his muzzle immediately closing shut. He shouldn't make promises he couldn't keep? This time he looked at her and thought. Every time he had been opening his mouth he had just been immediately reacting to what she said, how she looked. He wasn't paying attention to the bigger picture he needed to stop and listen and allow his mind to rewind time. What was he missing? He bit his lip and allowed his mind to take over as the observant persona of Ashfields. His mind went back to the start where they picked the sapphire together, he wanted to be close to her. Fas forward to the hunt he promised to be with her and he-
The background pieces of his mind began to catch up with him, the timing, the days aligning, the tradition of the mate choosing ceremony. Being together.

Silence fell over the den, as she just listened to the sound of his breathing as he tried to figure out what had happened and who it was that had hurt her. Unseenlight's eyes fluttered open as he finally spoke, putting it all together of why she was so down "and you didn't" she answered in barely more than a whisper as if it was painful for her to even say them. Today they should have been off celebrating, yet here they were hurting instead. Perhaps she had put to many expectations on him, they had only been on a few dates... But it had seemed so real, so intense that he had managed to pry his way into her heart. She had let him in.... and he had broken it.
Duskslayer smiled ear to ear not that Unseenlights could see, but she could hear it in his voice, "Unseenlights has the biggest, fattest crush on me, holy fire," He sounded like a teenager who just found out his all time crush liked him back. Only in this case he knew they liked each other, but becoming mates was a major step up from boyfriend. He lied down beside her this time, "Lights, I promise you on my soul and on my faith, I'm madly insanely in love with you," He begged with her, "And you better believe that if I was there I'd catch you in my arms. I'm not playing and I'm serious about us. I just want to take our time and I won't be one of those guys who means a year or more later," He lifted her paw kissing it, "You're only my girlfriend once, let me treat you like a queen before I start treating you like a Goddess," His cheeks were blushing red and by the lightness in her tone it was too easy to tell how shy he was still flirting with her.

Unseenlights awaited his answer, expecting some sort of an apology or pleading from him, but what he said next was anything but. She felt the heat rising to her cheeks as he called her out for having a crush on him. Of course she did! How could she not? Not only was he kind, but he had treated her so well up until that point. It was the first time she had ever felt truly loved... Like someone cared.
As he continued you to speak, she forgot to breathe. Her heart beat heavily in he chest and she began to feel light headed. "I.." the anger that she had held so close to her heart melted away like butter in the sun, as she became flushed letting out the air that she didn't know she was holding "Dusky... my sweet dusky" she purred finally relenting and pressing her nose against his "just don't ever leaving me hanging like that again. I have never been so embarrassed" but she had already forgiven him.
Feeling her nose press up against his sent warm tingles as he whispered soothingly, "Hey, I meant what I said." He pressed into thee side of her face lovingly licking her cheek, "I'll never let whoever hurt you do that to you again so I won't." He stroked the back of her head with his paw, soft and light at first, but growing tenderly stronger with time as he threaded his claws light as gossamer through her dark silky black fur. He moved away from her knowing that if he stayed a second longer they or more accurately, he was never going to want to leave this den with her. "Lights, I came to ask you something important. I want you to come with me as ambassadors of SunClan to Renegade Regime. I spoke with Littlestar and she has given me her blessing. I have family in the Regime and they're starving, I need to support them, it's life or death. Will you come on this adventure with me?"

Unseenlights savored the moment, each time he touched her sending a shiver down her spine. A purr rumbled in her throat, until suddenly he pulled away from her, breaking the spell he had placed on her as she longed for more. Her paw tensed to reach out and pull him back, but then he started to speak.... The Regime? Everyone knew that he had family there, but she hadn't known that he was thinking about going there for more than a quick visit. Her heart thrummed in her chest. All she wanted was to be with him, but she had never been outside SunClan territory and she had to admit that it was rather scary for her. In sunClan she had no trouble finding her way around having a great mental image of the territory, but going into the unknown was rather scary "Of course I will go with you"
