Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He lifted his head, eyes to the sky, it was a bright day but as always it seemed so much duller to Hypnotictrance, as if the world once laced with vibrant colors had been shrouded in black and white. It was a rare occasion that the color bled through, small splatters here and there, it was so far and few though that he had all but stopped noticing; sleeping through the days, more attuned to seeing nothing rather than facing the lifelessness his eyes captured around him.
Even now, as he walked through the trees he closed his eyes, would his mind even allow the color to return to his life or was he destined to this. It wasn't until the strong scent of flowers hit his nose that his eyes fluttered open, the smell was stronger than normal, as if someone or something had disturbed the blooming plants. As he looked around it took no longer than the beat of a heart for him to spot Honeycream, surrounded by flowers, pulled from their dirt homes and placed delicately around him, any normal feline would just assume he was collecting them for some reason or another, of course he didn't come to that conclusion and instead of greeting his clanmate he questioned him.
Honeycream was startled by the other cat, far too focused on the flowers before him. His gaze settled on the flower around him, dandelions and morning glories. though he only plucked the ones he needed as he wove his latest creation. It was skill a kit taught him the last time he was babysitting them. Where they'd gotten it, he hadn't the faintest but he so loved the task. "Well. for a crown." He motioned towards his barely started project, it was messy but did look like something. Being as that it'd only been started he hadn't the chance to tighten it up and make it look nicer. "I only take the ones I need and allow the others to grow. But it helps to take a few here and there. It allows for more room for others." Sitting in his favorite spot out in the meadow just on the edge of the treeline, he motioned towards eth overcrowding flowers around them. For once his words came easily, spoken softly and with kindness. Honeycream didn't know what plagued the other tom but it was obvious that something was bothering him, and while he wouldn't pry he'd offer his shoulder to cry and his ears to listen. Just as he did for all cats that sought him out.
While his eyes drooped sleepily, his ears remained fully open, taking in the words spoken by Honeycream, he did not move forward or turn to leave as he stood pondering. It was still moments before he began to move, walking into the flowers but careful not to damage or flatten them. His eyes traveled, passing over the petals to the partly finished crown at the other toms paws, as long as he had been in Springclan he had never seen this done before and perhaps that was his own doing, he didn't notice much of anything on his bad days but for some reason unknown he was well aware of the soft spoken feline before him.
A strange thing indeed, because for a moment he could have sworn that as his gaze settle on Honeycream a wash of color flashed around him, it was such a sudden thing that he shook it away, blaming his mind for only playing a cruel trick on him. "Is it for someone?" The question was not sudden, spoken slowly with true curiosity. He st down watching as he worked, not thinking that maybe his presence would be uncomfortable for the other tom.
"Would you like it to be?" He'd merely been practicing and would have worn it for himself until the tom came upon him. But why not offer it to someone else? It'd look lovely on the other tom too. Bright colors conflicting with his darker fur. And...maybe it'd bring some joy to the tom's face. Looking away, so as to not pressure Hypnotictrance into a choice, Honeycream continued on his flower crown. Carefully folding and weaving the pieces together, he settled in for silence if that pleased the other cat. His gaze never once wavered from his flowers, but he stayed aware of the tom sitting and watching him work. Something itched in him to ask what was wrong or to offer the meanings behind the flowers he was working with, but he merely waited in silence for the other to speak first, to allow no pressure or tension to rise between them. He'd always be a safe cat to speak to, to enjoy the company of. It was his goal in life, his nature to be kind, sweet, and understanding. Like the flowers he oh so admires, he waits patiently for someone to come by and whisper their words or cry their tears, voicing their sorrows, dreams, and fears.
Hypnotictrances eyes opened a little wider at the question, why would Honeycream ask him what he wanted the fate of the flowers to be, they weren't his after all; he was simply trying to understand. "No, you should keep them, I think they would be safer with you." If he gave them to another would they be cared for and appreciated or would they be tossed aside, he didn't think it was a risk that should be taken.
The more he watched the more intrigued he became, how did he get the flowers to hold together so well, such a delicate touch to prevent them from breaking. He inched closer and lowered himself into a laying position so he could get better look. "Did you learn this yourself, Honeycream?" For the first time since he arrived, he spoke the other toms name, his body and voice seemed to be relaxing the longer he observed.
Honeycream smiled softly, "yes, I learned recently how to fold them into a crown to wear." Selecting some violets, he added them to the growing chain of daisies for some color. Glancing back over at the tom he thought of an idea, but wouldn't voice it until later. Maybe he'd make two crowns....one from himself and another for the tom beside him, or they could both make one. "Would you like to learn? I am not very good, but I'm sure I could teach you what I know. Or...if you don't feel comfortable making it I...I could make it for you and you could select the flowers?" His voice grew softer as he spoke, less confident with every word.
Hypnotictrance looked at the progress the Tom's flower crown, they looked nice and the thought of how it would look on Honeycream flitted through his mind suddenly; he shook it away and turned his brown gaze back to the feline just as his voice reached his ears. "I dont think I could make one like you, it would be a shame to waste the flowers..." he was curious to try but the doubt he had in himself was begining to bubble up. "Will you make sure I dont ruin it?" His ear twitched as he asked the question, not sure how he would feel if he was told no or why it bothered him so much just thinking about it.
At first, he was a little disappointed that the tom wouldn't try, but then he was surprised when he agreed. "Oh, course!" Honeycream set down his half-finished crown and stood up to begin selecting flowers. "We need to pick ones that have long stems, but others any one will work. Is there a certain one you like?" All around them were flowers of a range of colors. The meadow was full of them! It was part of the reason Honeycream also came out here, for the flowers, the scents, and because he loved the view. He'd even learned what each flower meant.
Hypnotictrance looked around the field of flowers, he had to pick a color, how could he do that when the world around him was so dull and shrouded in grey. Once upon a time he had been able to see the world in all its colorful glory, but not long after becoming a warrior he began to notice that certain colors had begun to fade away until at last everything was grey, leaving him utterly color blind. "I..." He stopped and looked back at Honeycream, not sure if the other tom knew of his situation or not, he knew what each color was, drawing them up from deep memories of his younger days, but after so long even those had started fading to darkness. "Purple, which ones are purple?" Not many knew of his colorless world but something was pushing him to make sure that this feline did, with his eyes now back on the flowers wondering which was purple, he withdrew into himself a little; unsure of what Honeycream would do with the information he was providing about himself.
Unaware of the inner crisis Hypnotictrance was having, Honeycream began selected little yellow wildflowers. But hearing him speak up, asking in a small, unsure tone, had the sweet tom glancing at him in confusion. "Purple?" Did he not know the color? Or...or could he be color blind? Honeycream hadn't heard of a cat that was, but he'd of the condition. "Well, there's purple violets over here, they're a little small for flower size but their stems are always long enough to work with." With an idea, glancing past the tom lounging beside him at the violets on his other side and back towards the little yellow ones before him, the tom grinned and erupted with excitement. "But they'd be perfect paired with these yellow wild flowers!" He practically pushed the small flowers he'd collected into the tom's muzzle, eyes bright with inspiration and amazement. But being so far in the cute tom's face caused him to realize that he sounded like a kit with a new toy and so Honeycream turned a scarlet color.
Hypnotictrance turned to face the flowers he was told were purple, tilting his head as he squinted his eyes, it was no use and so he turned back to Honeycream just in time for the other toms excited mew to be heard. His eyes widened and the next thing he knew, flower filled paws were pushing into his muzzle and nose. "I like yellow too." He mumbled, a flicker of a smile pulling at his lips. Hypnotictrance lifted a paw and placed it over Honeycreams, gently pushing them and the flowers away from his face so he could get a better look at what would soon be his very own crown. "Cute." It was a whisper.
He heard the whisper, and wanted to say it was at the crown, but his face darker in its red color. Honeycream was stuttering now, face a dark cherry red from blushing. “Umm..I-I d-do to-too. It’s..it’s a pr-prett-pretty c-color.” Gods he was a mess! A handsome tom and flowers and some words. Clearly that’s all it took to turn him into a puddle of feelings. Though he shouldn’t be surprised, Honeycream had always been more intune with his emotions and feelings than any cat and was seen as soft for it or the fact that he wasn’t a fighter but a lover. A flower child though and through. And currently a puddle of blushing red embarrassment for he’s now developed crush on the tom before him.
(So hypnotic is actually colorblind, but he hasn't quite come to terms with it and has put it in his mind that it isn't permanent. the flashes of color that he may "see" from time to time aren't real, its pretty much his memory recalling the colors he could once see even if they are wrong... Does that make sense?) xD
He was beginning to feel more at ease the longer he was here beside Honeycream, watching the shy tom react to small moments and hushed words. Hypnotictrance plucked a flower from the bunch Honeycream held and placed it on the ground in front of him to study, while he couldn't see the color of it he knew by the shape it was one of the yellow ones. "What other colors do you like?" He had formed an idea but didn't dare to reveal it in case it went horribly wrong.
(Yes. Yes it does! That’s gonna he cute with these two. Personally I love these three and their relationship. Do you have a thread going with ashes for hypnotic trance and faithful feather?)
“Co-colors..?” He didn’t really have a favorite as he loved all of them. Different combinations made more beauty and some blended better with ones. Personally when he thought of colors he thought of flowers. It was always flowers with him. Really his name should have been Honeyflower not Honeycream. But oh well. “I..all o-of th-them?” Was that an acceptable answer? He wasn’t sure.
Hypnotictrance tilted his head at the other toms answer, he new very well he couldn't use every flower for this, if that were to work he would need a rainbow flower. The large tom got to his paws, eyes focused on Honeycream as he moved closer to him; if only he could tell whar color his fur or eyes were, that would help. Would it be weird to ask... "Um.. What color are your eyes?" He felt a warm flush spread over his cheeks but he didn't turn his eyes away or retreat.
Seeing the other tom begin to blush too, causes his to deepen. His eyes? “Bl-blue I I th-think...” he wasn’t sure, hadn’t ever been asked that before but having looked in the river a few storms in his life, he knew they were at least blue in color. The exact shade escaped him. Honeycream wasn’t a vain cat and hardly cared about his appearance. Many a times, he’s come back to camp cover in dust and leaves. His cream fur was currently an example of that. Grass clung in some areas of his fur and a leaf from his earlier walk near his ear, pollen dusted his paws and pig enemy form the flowers stained his claws and paw pads. But his eyes didn’t leave the tom’s before him. They were locked on the ones gazing at him, mesmerized by them and the creature they belonged too.
