Lionpride
SunClan Warrior
The Loveable
Lionpride slowly lowered aconite's body into the ground, gently upon the bed of roses he had made for her. They had always been her favorite, and he had spent countless hours fathering and weaving them into the nest that they shared in the nursery to make her smile. He swallowed hard knowing that this was the last nest her would ever make for her... He learned down licking her between the ears, his heart heavy like a stone in chest. Next he picked up the kit that hadn't made it, and cradled it against his cheek. Its small body was so frail, its silver tabby fur closely resembling his own "Go with Aconite little one, she will watch over you in StarClan... We didn't even get to name you" he nuzzled it's tiny cheek "I can't send you to the Isle without a name" he whispered.....
"Purekit" he murmured, "Purekit" he repeated a little louder, hoping that Aconite would hear and approve of the name as he settled the body down beside of hers on the roses, placing his mate's gently over the tiny kit before taking a step backwards so that the two could be buried and the seedling sunflowers he had chosen could be placed to mark their graves. He went silent, unable to talk during the proceedings... Even after the rest of the clan began to melt away he remained, staring dulled eyed at the two little sunflowers
Satinpaw stood beside her brother, her pelt pressed against him just enough so that the pressure didn't hurt her in anyway. She had sworn to herself that she'd stay by him through all this... It was the only thing she could do. She knew nothing could take away the heartache he was feeling and she didn't even want to imagine what he was feeling now. "That's a beautiful name" she purred softly as she watched him gently place the kit into the nest. Even as the other cats began to melt away she stayed put. She wanted to say something, anything but she couldn't find the right words. Maybe no words would ever be the right ones.
Bloodyrondo sat there awkwardly. He wanted to lean against Satinpaw's side but he was all too aware of her tiger-mom's gaze burning into his back. So, he kept his paws to himself, his tail wrapped tightly around them, and waited. He was not particularly close to Lionpride of Aconite but he wasn't about to leave Satinpaw alone when she was so clearly upset. Besides, he did not fully trust Lionpride at the moment, the wounds that he had inflicted on Satinpaw during his breakdown were unforgivable. Any deeper and there was a chance he could have taken away her chance at kits someday, too, if not her life as well. It was hard to stay angry at a tom so broken, though, so Bloodyrondo went back to counting the seconds. How much longer was this going to take?
"This was really hard to find, you know." Wait, Discordantpaw was still here? He had thought most the rest of the Clan had cleared off but, no, there his half-sister stood, a purple flower in her jaws. An aconite, "I wanted to give it to you in person..." Something about her words hung heavy for Bloodyrondo. That must have been the traditional SunClan gift she planned to give Aconite the day after her kitting. It made the burial a lot more real for the disgraced Priest Promised and he had to look away.
Seeing the Aconite flower brought tears to his eyes, he had been managing to barely hold it together through the burial ceremony but this.. The words caught in his throat as he reluctantly took the flower, stroking it's petals gently between his paws treating it like a delicate jewel. He hadn't even thought about it before this moment... But if she had lived they would have been celebrating now instead of mourning... Receiving gifts and announcing the new kit's names to the rest of the clan. Now the mere thought of it only brought him pain and suffering.
Discordantpaw nodded and brushed her cheek against Lionpride's shoulder, careful not to touch the scratches, and then padded away with another word. To be honest mourning wasn't really something she did. Her heart ached for Lionpride and his young family but it was more because she knew she should feel sad for them when turthfully she really didn't really feel anything. Perhaps it was because she just didn't know them well, but Dissy could not be too sure. Her emotions toward others had always been dulled, like there was an extra layer between her world and everyone else's. An inborn coldness. She scared herself sometimes.

Lionpride
SunClan Warrior
The Loveable
Lionpride nearly collapsed as the guards stepped forward to take him back to the prison. Even though he wasn't much of a danger to others now, in his current depressed state he was a big danger to himself. He felt paws gripping at him, pulling him back and it took all he had not to throw him self at them and rush back to the flowers that marked their graves.
Finally he relented, giving into the guards as the started to lead him away clinging to the Aconite refusing to let go as the led him away.
"Satinpaw, we should go, too," Bloodyrondo said quietly, putting himself in front of the view of Lionpride being led back to the prison. She did not need to see that, "We can come back later if you want, but you haven't eaten today. I'll have... I mean, Littlestar will have someone fetch you a rabbit. Sound good?" He cast a weak glare to Littlestar, as if begging her to challenge what he had said. The enemy of your enemy is your friend and both of them were fighting Satinpaw's sadness.
Satinpaw hadn't registered much of what was going on until she felt her brother's pelt leave hers. Fully she tore her eyes away from the grave to see where Lionpride was going but, her view was immediately blocked by Bloodyrondo. She blinked in momentary confusion when she looked up at him. What had he said? something about a rabbit? "O-oh, no thank you. I'm not hungry." She wasn't sure if her lack of hunger had to do with the feeling of sorrow that had settled in her stomach, or that she was afraid being full would some how reopen her fresh wounds, maybe it was both. "Can I go back with him?" she asked Bloody, then caught herself, turning her blue gaze to her mother. She really didn't want to leave Lionpride alone with his grief.

Littlestar walked forward nuzzling her daughter "I'll go with Lionpride. You need to take care of yourself first" she looked to Bloodyrondo giving him a silent warning. She trusted Satinpaw not to cross the line, but Bloodyrondo was another story entirely. However the mere fact that she was giving them any time together after recent events was proof enough that she was slowly relaxing her restrictions on the couple. Satinpaw was getting larger, becoming more of an adult in her own right every day. It was still way to early but at least at this point if she did manage to get pregnant, she at least had some hope of guiding her through it safely unlike before. A boom of thunder roared over head, the smell of rain on the breeze "You should get back to camp before the storm hits"
She opened her mouth to protest but no words came out. She closed it and gave her mother a curt but respectful nod. she should be both happy and grateful to be allowed any amount of time with Bloodyrondo, but in light of the circumstances joy wasn't exactly in her range of emotions today. She startled at the clap of thunder overhead, it seemed to wake her up just a bit. What a perfect day for a storm, it's not like today could get anymore deary. Getting to her paws she took two steps ready to head in the direction of camp, only stopping to make sure Bloodyrondo was actually going to follow her.
Seeing Littlestar yield, Bloodyrondo stepped closer to Satinpaw and allowed their pelts to brush. He had been robbed fo the sensation of her silky soft fur for far too long and it took more self control than he would admit to not bury his face in it and wrap his paws around her. He settled by giving her a sweet lick on the cheek, "I wish there was something more I could do for you... are you sure you don't want a rabbit? Maybe some lavender?"
Instinctively she pressed closer to the ginger tom, finding comfort in his warmth. She was glad to have him by her side even if it didn't show. Her heart went out to her brother who lost his mate, and deep down a selfish part of her was glad she didn't know what that felt like. She was grateful to her mother for looking after her and her siblings as well as she had, and knew Lionpride would be alright with her to soothe him. She let out the breath she hadn't known she had been holding before looking up at Bloodyrondo. "You do plenty just by being here" she purred softly. "Come on we'd better hurry before we get stuck out in the rain." she flicked her fluffy tail across his nose before leading the way back to camp.
