Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Poppyheart was like totally pregnant. Like, WAY too pregnant. She was due any day now and felt like if she so much stepped wrong she would burst. Brakewings couldn't give her a true estimate of the number of kittens she was carrying but the consensus was that it was at least six. That was a lot for a she-cat's first litter, especially given her young age. Poppyheart was of Warrior age now, to be totally fair, but she hadn't been when she got pregnant. She sighed dramatically and stretched out her limbs as far as she could manage before inelegantly rolling to her feet.
Another queen had just moved into the nursery... a SunClan cat. She hadn't had her kits yet, but there was also a bonus litter of kittens in here too, and nursery was getting very cramped. It had been Poppyheart's castle for the past couple of moons and, just when she really wanted the privacy, it was filling up exponentially, "UGH I have got to get some fresh air..." She said out loud and stormed out into the bright midday sun. She knew she aught to eat but she wasn't hungry; instead she approached the first cat she saw, "Hey so what's up? I'm like sooo bored, I've got nothing to do expect eat and sleep, it's hard work when you're as big as me. I can't wait to have these kits and get back to Warrior duties again," Not that she even once hunted in DayClan, even before she had been confirmed pregnant, "Doing anything fun today?"
When Poppyheart turned around she came face to face with the mythic diva herself, Autumngossamer. But in DayClan it was like she was seen behind a veil. Everything about her felt filtered, like for so long she had been an autumn leaf among spring leaves and suddenly she was put in an autumn forest and looked just as average as everyone else. Her orange tabby fur didn't pop the same way without her paint, but more than that she didn't carry her usual regal divine stance, but instead looked as normal as an expecting mom would. When her head turned she had a cute young face, it was still pudgy and even as her eyes narrowed slightly at the sudden conversation her face still remained youthful and too cute to truly look mad. However the moment her brown eyes met Poppyheart's there was a firestorm that flared up inside of her, a spark that sent the hell beast she was alive. Innocent cuties did that kind of a thing to her. Autumngossamer's eyes narrowed in false happiness and took a more authoritative poise, standing taller, her shoulders rolled back now. She batted her eyes and smiled once, "Oh, so you're the other queen and I thought you were just fat, good to know."
This was Autumn's playground, always has been, always will. She used to rule this clan with a pretty smile and words sharper than a tigers teeth. DayClan cats were naturally nice and she was as fox hearted as they came. After all she was raised by a fox, how else was she supposed to turn out?
"I was about to relentlessly mock some poor cat, maybe drive them out of DayClan, I don't know, is that your jam?" Autumngossamer asked passively.
"Umm, excuse me?" Poppyheart's words were delivered with a quiet, dangerous sort of anger that came from a deep, guttural part of her. She hadn't once been disrespected since moving into DayClan a couple of moons ago. In fact, she had been pampered like a Queen long before she actually was one, it was all part of her contract. Free housing, no Warrior duties, all you can eat food. Fuzzyheart and Peachblush were absolute gems who doted on her every beck and call. Or made other cats do it with their flashy Socialite rank. So she was used to getting whatever she wanted right when she wanted it. Although she wasn't so sure her desire to ring the ginger she-cat's neck would get approved. She took a deep breath and said with acidity in her voice, "I'm the other queen? What a joke! I've been here for moons now, I'm carrying actual DayClan kits. You're just some SunClan reject who is trying to project her own insecurities on someone else. Well, jokes on you, I've got nothing to hide and am proud of my fluff! It looks good on me. Too bad no one can say the same about you."
Sitting not too far off from the arguing queens, the small warrior of black and white crouched, trying to enjoy her midday lunch before going back out into the territory. This was difficult to do over the bickering of Dayclan's finest gossip girls. At first, Badgerpounce simply turned the other way, her back and stumpy tail facing the source of noise. Managing to succeed in a few more mouthfuls of very small squirrel, she stopped once more after hearing Poppyheart's retort. What a... Letting out a sigh, she finally sat up and watched Autumngossamer and Poppyheart. Completely and blissfully unaware of their reputations and opinions of themselves. Which, in a way, made Badgerpounce all the more bold when staring at the she-cats, waiting to see who would say what idiocy next. She dragged the remains of her squirrel back in front of her, though waited to finish it. Is this really how queens treated one another within this Clan...? Sheesh. Well... At least it was a form of entertainment.
"Ohh, actual? Come now, even I know that's not true, Peachy is SpringClan and Fuzzy is Primal. Lucky for you, I don't judge clan descendants though so I won't comment there. Now my kits, they'll be half DayClan, which is more than what yours will be able to say. That's fine though, super trendy, like honestly? Being an outsider is so in with DayClan, I mean seriously, who even is DayClan born in this clan? Windchaser and Illuminatedpath's family, but besides that, can't really say," Autumngossamer shrugged, amusement flashing like fire in her hellish she-devil gaze, "Aww you look so pouty," She said in a babying voice before grinning at the other queen, "You know what will help? Bossing someone around, we're queens so everyone has to tolerate us. Why don't you ask that she-cat over there to give you a good foot massage, that'll help those paw wrinkles you got," She purred, her tail almost too dangerously tickled against Poppyheart's chin before dashing away quickly as she gestured to Badgerpounce in the background.
Poppyheart knew that Autumngossamer was making fun of her but the fact that it was presented as a compliment was very puzzling for the cream-furred she-cat. By the time she finally had a retort in mind, the SunClan queen had already brushed against her chin and was out of sight. She blinked her eyes a couple times as she continued to process what just happened then turned around in the direction the other queen had padded off towards and changed gears slightly,"Oh yeah? Well jokes on you, Badgerpounce is great at massages, she gives me one all the time!" It was kind of a stupid way to fight back but that was just Poppyheart's way. She stuck her half-tail in the air and approached the black and white Warrior with purpose, hoping that she hadn't heard the exchange just now, "My feet are sore, and you are lower class than me, would you mind giving me a quick massage? My kits and I would really appreciate it."
The small she-cat was very obviously confused at first. The confusion quickly faded into shock, and finally annoyance. From her gaze alone, it was very obvious Badgerpounce had some choice words to share. Remaining where she sat, she lifted a brow. "Maybe. If I could get a please, I don't think I'd mind." She said with a bit of a snap. "After all, I am one of the cats making sure this territory its safe for you and your very appreciative kits." She wasn't about to put up with the bad attitude of a queen who had lost a social spat, regardless of how important she was. Poppyheart wasn't the leader, so the thought of being punished for disrespecting the higher social standing citizens didn't bother her. Just one of those charming Badgerpounce things. Her tone had yet to reach it's most intense point, however; honestly, this exchange was one of the more tamer ones Badgerpounce had been in as of late.
"Holy Sun God, Poppyheart, why don't you actually take that heart suffix of yours and use it. Like give the poor warrior chick a break, she probably works her butt of getting prey for you and you're just demanding foot rubs? How insensitive can you be?" Autumngossamer chastised in her more uppity preppy girl voice. She approached Badgerpounce and dipped her head to her, "Thank-you like, so much for your service, I would be totally honored if you ever felt like giving me a foot rub," She said seriously with respect in girlish her tone before rising her head back up.
Poppyheart's claws unsheathed when Autumngossamer butted her head into the conversation. Really, who did this SunClan good-for-nothing think that she was!? The very pregnant queen took a couple of deep breaths and forced herself to calm down. Violence was never the answer but it was taking more self control that Poppyheart realized to not dig her claws into Autumngossamer's ginger pelt.
"Don't listen to Autumngossamer, she's trash. All she wants to do is turn your against me so she can get the foot rubs. She's not near as pregnant or deserving as I am and besides she's ugly." Poppyheart threw herself on the ground in front of Badgerpounce and put her hind feet right up against the black-and-white she-cat. Laying on her back now, her stomach looked positively enormous, like seriously, how many kits were in there?
"Now Badgerpounce, please do as I say and get to work before Autumngossamer ruins my good mood."
