Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Takeshi, would you like to lead the next spar?" Constantine asked with a hint of a warning in his voice. He was certainly going to have a talking-to with his fellow Bishop about his training techniques later. To put it simply, his 'disciples' sparred too rough. He appreciated their fire but there was no reason to draw blood in a training exercise. Presently Ryoma sat at the sidelines seething for being told he lost his spar due to playing dirty; his opponent, Hollowpaw, had quietly excused himself to visit Yuki and get his bloodied nose treated.
Most of the students present were among Takeshi's disciples, though, and after that episode with Ryoma and Hollowpaw fresh in everyone's eyes, Constantine decided it best to let the other tom take the lead. He fully planned to critique the methods later but was smart enough to know that it was better to have solid evidence of a problem before bringing it into discussion. Besides, he was a professional long before he was a gossip and wasn't about to critique his fellow teacher in front of the class.
"Let me try again," Ryoma asserted boldly, his eyes on Takeshi. That student was probably the worst of them all when it came to aggression and Constantine for a moment felt pity for the other Bishop, "That last fight... I mean spar... wasn't fair at all! Takeshi, you really aren't going to let Constantine give the win to Hollowpaw, are you? That cat couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag! I was clearly the winner."

Takeshi moved forward, the moonlight glimmering upon the white patches of his pelt as he entered into the training circle. Ryoma had always been one of the more outgoing of his disciples, but this had crossed a line. Rules were in place for a reason, and this was a blatant disregard of the parameters set before the match "You did indeed loose your match Ryoma, but for our match I free you of the constraints set forth in the previous match. You may use your claws, teeth, and any method you can think of to defeat me" his eyes narrowed in on the young cat, knowing that this would please him greatly "First to draw blood wins. If you win, you will be declared the winner in your previous match... however... should you loose your punishment for breaking the rules shall be doubled. So tred carefully, once the match has started there will be no turning back"
This again. Constantine sighed and motioned for the other students to step back. Ryoma was always begging to spar with Takeshi and for whatever reason the other Bishop kept letting him. It ever ended well for the hot-blooded youth but it seemed to be the other form of discipline he would respect. When he truly believed he lost a fight, he really would listen to the cat who bested him. The problem? His wins greatly outweighed the losses. At least in this case Constantine could rest easy knowing that the winner was already certain.
"You're on," Ryoma's blue eyes shined with equal parts excitement and malice. Yes, this was another chance to try and defeat his master. He had yet to win a single fight against him but moments ago he hadn't had too hard of a time drawing blood. His claws were still ruby red in the moonlight from Hollowpaw's wound as he boldly stepped into the cricle, immediately dropping into a defensive crouch, "Let's do this, old man, I'll make your eat your words."

Takeshi didn't answer, just a single flick of his tail indicating that his disciple could begin when he was ready. Only fools sat around yapping their jaws when their was work to be done. Takeshi stood with his wight off center, relaxed and at ease instead of dropping into a defensive crouch. If Ryoma wanted to prove himself, then so be it. He would only prove once again that the young cat still had a long ways to go before he was even close to his mentor's level. The young tom was far to rash and reckless, and a vast majority of his moves were simply copies of his own. Instead of coming up with his own unique style. They few the tom had tried to design on his own were flimsy at best, and easily seen through.
Ryoma was smart enough to know that making the first move left him at a disadvantage. Yes, he really did know this, and yet he still did not waste any time sneaking toward Takeshi like a bolt of lightning. Despite his cute appearance, Ryoma was one of the most sure-footed cats in the entire Clan, and he made quite a show of it by darting around the circle at a nearly dizzying pace. He wanted to distract Takeshi, make him tense, force an opening. As always, though, Takeshi's defense was impregnable: The other tom did not move a muscle. Ryoma wasn't going to give up easily, though. He had been repeating a pattern this entire time, taking the exact same pawsteps as he circled in, closer and closer. By now Takeshi had certainly memorized it... which mean there was not better time than now to change it up. So he did. With unsheathed claws, the lynx point tom pivoted on his hind legs and flung himself at Takeshi's back.

Takeshi merely watched with a bored expression as the young cat circled round him. Even as the tom gave his fake lunges, Takeshi never budged. He remained lucid and relaxed even as the tom's format suddenly changed. He merely flowed to the side as easily as water parted before the stone leaving the young cat grasping at nothing but air "Try it again, but this time try not to be so predictable" he commented yawning sleepily "It''s always the same pattern with you"
Ryoma let out a frustrated yowl and this time lashed out blindly, no longer intelligently searching for an opening but instead just throwing punches until hopefully one landed. It was kind of pathetic but his blows were fast and strong. It may have worked on any other cat, but not Takeshi, and he knew this was the case. He was just in denial and embarrassed and really sick of losing. He was finally a full-fledged Follower now and still couldn't even touch a tuft of fur on Takeshi's stupid pelt.
Inui watched with unmasked disappointment as Ryoma lashed out sloppily. The odds of him actually landing a hit had drastically reduced with this pathetic display. Perhaps he wasn't hard enough on the tom. That or he wasn't taking enough of his medicine? That wasn't right but, he would come up with a better name for it later. It wouldn't hurt to change up his diet either. "Ryoma, do you need a pick me up?" he called out, his tail flicking irritably behind him.

"I said try it again, not blindly lash out at your target" he weaved back and forth like a serpent until an opportunity presented itself's and he leapt forward keeping his injured paw out of the frey with was and winning him down with pure weight and pressure in the right places. He had been working on learning to fight without the use of it, having been warned that he if he overdid he could loose his leg entirely "You hear the words that I speak, but not the meaning behind them" he gazed down upon the young disciple blinking as he waited on Ryoma to accept defeat
Ryoma knew when he was defeated. His body slackened, his blows ceased, and he felt his teacher's grip on on him lesson, too. The lynx point tom go back to his paws and shot a glare at Inui for offering him medicine. It was blatant bullying and normally he wouldn't tolerate it, but he was a little too soul sick to call him out on it at the moment. He forced his pelt to smooth out and turned his attention back to Takeshi, "You need to stop talking in riddles and just tell me what I need to do to get stronger."
To others gathered, Takeshi's lessons had been pretty direct. Stop repeating your attack pattern. Don't lash out blindly. Ryomna knew all that, it was obvious, really, but there was more to it that he just couldn't grasp. There must be a secret. And Takeshi was keeping it to himself - what else could explain that a wounded tom like him could best the much more fit Ryoma without breaking a sweat?
"... You won't answer me directly anyway so I don't know why I bothered asking. Thanks for the lesson, I guess."
