Ashfall's tail thumped irritably against the ground as she listened to another one of Goldenhind's overly-optimistic stories about "how to be a good neighbor" or "how to make your friends feel better when they're stressed." Honestly, she didn't really know what he was rambling on about now, only that she somehow got roped into it. Her eyes glanced pleadingly around to her clanmates, who she wasn't always the nicest to, to save her.
While he couldn't say anything to interrupt the conversation, Shadepaw did notice his clanmate looked like she needed a bit of help. The fluffy grey tabby was already making his way towards Ashfall. To get her attention, he nudged her leg with his paw and smiled up at her. He didn't have a mentor at the moment so maybe he could help if she made up something about either being told to train him or promising to. Either that or he could just try to ask her to help him with something if he could get her to understand.
(He is a mute just so you know why he's not talking cx)

Ashfall stared down at the apprentice in pure despair. Of course the only cat to come to her rescue was probably the only cat who couldn't interject and help her. It took her several long moments of staring angrily at the grey tabby before she came up with her own unique idea (her own, of course). "Oh, Shadepaw! That's right! I was supposed to train you today, wasn't I?" She meowed over-brightly and whisked away, leaving Goldenhind with an open jaw.
Once they were out of earshot, she gave a smirk to the apprentice. "Thanks for showing up, pup. My ears would have been talked right off my head. I hope you aren't expecting me to actually train you because I simply don't have the time or energy to do that."
( poor shadepaw found the most rude cat to help, but ya know, maybe he could be her only soft spot c; )
He shook his head to show that he didn't actually expect her to train him. He was just glad he could be of some use. There were a few in the clan that didn't think that a mute could be of much use. He didn't see why not when he didn't have any other disabilities, but he supposed he would just have to prove himself to them. He glanced back towards Goldenhind before looking back at Ashfall and tilting his head to the side as if to ask how she had gotten caught in such a one sided conversation.

Ashfall followed his gaze and rolled her eyes. "You mean how did I get stuck listening to blabberjaws all morning?" She let out a snort and shook her head. For some reason, she found it very easy to understand Shadepaw and his silent musings. Maybe it's because he couldn't actually say anything to annoy her, but she found herself taking a fondness to the apprentice, which was both annoying and oddly... nice? She had never been one to make any friends quick. In fact, she hardly had friends at all because of her snobbish attitude. Her eyes narrowed at Shadepaw for a moment as she pondered the new revelation of friendship. "Anyways, I simply stepped out of the den and he was there yabbering on like a parakeet in spring. We met eyes, and that was that. I was doomed. Not an interesting story, huh?"
