Gabriel sifted among his herbs with thoughtful calculation, deciding which ones would last to the end of spring and which ones from winter could be preserved. His snowy coat was littered with scraps of different herbs, making him smell like a crisp autumn evening. It was kind of interesting that he no longer noticed the scent. Once upon a time, it used to bother his nose and make him want to sneeze, but now it had become a permanent part of life.
Pawsteps approaching made his ears prick and Gabriel glanced up from his work for just a moment to take in the visitor. "Ah, Xuxa. How can I help you? Get into another quarrel?" A slight smirk appeared on his maw yet he did not look back up from his work to see if his words were true.
"I don't personally dislike you while most people here I find oblivious and focused on stupid things like not hurting feelings and being the better person. You don't seem to have that stance because you have an actual brain and I will also add, good genetics. I like your teeth, you have a smile that I can trust, but also teeth that can cut flesh. What I'm trying to say is, I could probably grow to have a crush on you, but right now the Regime needs tykes so what do you say, want to put that body to good use with me?"
Xuxa was never one to beat around the bush, she knew what was right and was dead set on justice. In this moment though the right thing to do was have tykes, not so she could love them or fulfill a maternal desire, but to give the Regime more military scouts. The only issue was that she was ugly, she had a gorgeous fox figure, but her fur was ragged and smelled awful due to the herbs she had apply on her bulging scars and her eyes couldn't even make up for it given the pinkness where the whites of the eyes should be. But today she built together all of her confidence and fury into this one moment of asking Gabriel out. Although if he made fun of her she was pretty certain that she would see red and kill him. She could handle rejection, but bullying was a tad above what she could handle in this vulnerable moment.

Gabriel had continued his sorting from the moment after he asked his initial question, but at her final words he paused and his ears pricked. His blue gaze was inquisitive, but not uninterested, as he looked back up at her. The words sat in his mind for a long moment as he picked them apart and thought of every possibility. The ivory tom had never considered having a family for the sake of just filling numbers, but given their bloodlines, he didn't feel like it was a bad idea. In fact, he could hardly find fault with the idea.
Not to mention, he found Xuxa quite intriguing and unlike many she-cat's that had padded after him in the past. That is why a small, half-smile crept on his muzzle and his whiskers twitched in amusement at the situation. "Well, Xuxa, I must admit you've caught me off guard with the request." He admitted with a laugh. It was one of those handsome, charming kind of laughs that came from cats too intelligent for their own good, but not one out of unfriendliness. No, Gabriel was actually a good-humored cat underneath his wits. "However, I don't see why not. It makes a lot of sense, actually." Before finishing and waiting for his response, he tilted his head slightly. "I am curious, is filling the ranks the only reason for this sudden revelation?"
Xuxa looked him sternly in the eyes, "Yes, of course it is."
But in truth there was a lot more, her grandparents were getting older, their bloodline dwindling day by day and knowing that what she did to Cadet Zion and Duskslayer would someday catch up to her. She wanted a lineage and she wanted to give more to the Regime. Every time she tried to do the right thing she failed, she wasn't a good spy and she wasn't good at fighting. If she could at least give the Regime more tykes it would be a blessing for everyone. Right now they only had three left.
"I'll be romantic and devoted though, or whatever else you look for in a mate, but beautiful will not be one of them for obvious reasons," Xuxa said before defensively saying, "But I promise I looked really pretty before my injury and so will our kits."

Gabriel listened, intrigued, for a moment before shaking his head with a soft smile. "You don't worry about all that. You don't have to convince me of anything." He responded coolly. "Besides, I don't know that I'm the most romantic of partners anyways." He suddenly grew shy at the thought of being all cheeky and soft like he saw most couples. His own parents hardly spoke to each other so it wasn't like he really knew what that looked like growing up. "I mean, I can try to be if you want." He glanced up more seriously and added, "But I will always be devoted. Not many are fortunate enough to have a family with an intelligent cat like you, Xuxa. I appreciate that part of you the most."
