Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Firetooth was sulking. To be fair, Swiftclan's first and only Medicine Cat was always sulking, preferring to keep to himself over interacting with his new 'clanmates' for any period of time. The ginger tabby tom frowned as he stepped out of his make-shift Medicine Den for the first time that day, even though it was nearly evening. The only reason he was leaving at all was because he was hungry, striding over to the fresh-kill pile and grabbing a random bird off of the top, settling down to vigorously tear at the meat. It didn't take a genius to figure out that this was a cat that didn't want to be bothered.
So, obviously, someone was going to choose that exact moment to bother him.

"Hi!" A small voice chirped, it belonged to Happykit. The small kit was almost apprentice-aged but thus far seemed unable to grow out his kitten fluff. He was also notoriously annoying and constantly under-paw. The warriors had already shooed him away today so the kit had looked around for someone else to 'help' today. Firetooth seemed like the perfect candidate. He was their only medicine cat, so Happykit was sure he was incredibly busy. Happykit bounced up to Firetooth, "hi," he said again, "I came to help you!"
"Unless you can somehow digest my prey for me, I don't think there's anything you can 'help' with," Firetooth immediately replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm. The tom not even bothering to look up from his meal, he violently tore off the dead bird's wing and began picking off feathers. Despite his blatant attempt to shoo the kit away, there wasn't any particular malice to it, he would just prefer to be left alone. Though, knowing Happykit, the Medicine Cat was already certain that regaining his peace and quiet wasn't going to be that easy.

Happykit had a favorite cat - Fuzzypeach. And the small kit acted a lot like the robust tom, sarcasm went over his head and he was always absolutely sure he was welcomed and needed wherever he went. So when Firetooth responded, Happykit was certain it was all in jest. "Ha, you know I can't do that! But I'm sure I'll help you some other way!" He circled the medicine cat excitedly, like a spastic little shark.
Firetooth finally caved, looking up at the beaming, happy-go-lucky kit who seemed to almost be vibrating in excitement, then back down to his half-eaten meal, and back again. "...Nope," he stated plainly. "I honestly can't see any other way you can possibly help me right now. I'm going to be eating until...whenever you get bored or fall asleep apparently."

"Hmm," Happykit mewed, not pausing in his circling, "how about I fix your nest? It's probably really flat and stinky, I can put feathers in it and fluff it up and put flowers in it to stop the stinkiness. How about it?" The kit stopped now, hopping a bit on his toes as he looked at the tom, all wide-eyed innocence and happy-squinty eyes.
Firetooth was silent for a brief moment, internally debating his options before finally exhaling slowly from his nose. "You're not gonna leave me be until I say 'yes' anyway, so fine." Tearing off one last chunk of meat to chew on, the Medicine Cat rose to his feet and stretched. "Come on, squirt. Let's go find some feathers and flowers. Luckily, because of my job, I know where all of the nicest-smelling ones grow." Not actually a big fan of feathers or flowers, he was hoping to give the materials for Happykit to use in the nursery instead.
