Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
As night fell, Earlybloom retreated to her moss bed, wishing the young Pupil her usual sweet dreams wishes. Chestnutpaw herself, settled into her own moss bed which was at the opposite end of the Witch's den. She laid quietly in her bed, watching as he mentor slowly doze off to sleep, her own lids heavy with hints of tiredness, but her mind remained sharp as her plan slowly began to take effect. For additional precaution, the speckled tortoise-shelled cat waited a tad bit longer, ensuring that her mentor was indeed in deep sleep before she slowly rose to her paws and tip toeing quietly until she was in the Winterclan camp clearing. There were no moving bodies anywhere in sight. As predicted, most everyone were resting in their dens. The only cats she knew that were still out were about to come back from the dusk patrols. She had just a sliver of time before anyone came back from the patrol and catch her so she launched forwards, her small strides were fast as she targeted the entrance of the camp.
And just like that she was free and carefully sneaking through the underbrush in the darkness, careful not to run into any of the cats on patrol. The night escape was exciting and fun. There wasn't a rule that limited the Pupil to the Witch's den, but her mentor was always against her going off by herself, especially at night. It made sense. Chestnutpaw was nearing her 12 moons, but she was abnormally small for her age. Her growth had stunted rather early leaving her as a small runt. She wasn't particularly strong either nor fast thanks to her short legs. If she were ever to run into danger, it would be difficult for the young cat to get out of it on her own. Despite the risks, the Pupil was uncommonly optimistic and knew that if she was careful enough, everything would work out well for her. Besides, who didn't enjoy a night time escapade?
Snowbunny walked in with a fat chickens net in his jaw as Chestnutpaw passed him by in a whirlwind of speed lifting up the bangs from his eyes to reveal his surprised lightning green eyes and orange freckles. Immediately he threw the chicken over the bushes, his back legs throwing back snow over it and then smiled knowing that there was no way she didn't just see him out in the middle of the night even with his white fur. What he could hide was the giant chicken he caught... And also stole from DayClan's farm. Sure it was a far trek, but everything was faster when he knew the tunnels so well thanks to having been in the Regime. There were tunnels under every territory, that was the part he never revealed to WinterClan and didn't plan on doing so. His plan was to drop the chicken in the freshkill pile and to take his scent off of it so when WinterClan woke up the next day they could eat and no one would know who got it. Nervously he waited for Chestnut paw to retrace her steps and approach him.
The pupil still pressed forward, deeply distracted by the panic of her attempted escape. It wasn't until she heard a loud thud in the snow did she jump up in surprise and shock. This was it, this is where she died. Chestnutpaw flipped quickly in the air, turning towards the direction of the sound only to find the sight of a familiar white pelt "Snowbunny?" She called out in surprise, her fur still standing high on end from the small heart attack she received. "What are you doing here-" She stopped herself, realizing too late that she had been caught, her pale green eye widening for a moment. Her mind raced to different excuses, reasons for her being out until it hit her. Snowbunny was recently inducted into Winterclan and probably wasn't aware of all the rules. If she played her cards right, she could turn this situation in her favor and play it off as normal night out.
(I was trying to reply in order with my threads, but screw it, I can't wait any longer, I've been dying to reply back to this xD)
"I'm um," Snowbunny began before remembering that he wasn't an cadet anymore. He could leave as he wished, although having a stolen piece of prey didn't help, "Stargazing." That was a clan thing... Usually. Maybe. He had literally lived under a rock most of his life he wasn't exactly the most cultural guy out there. Sure he had been to nearly every clan territory imaginable, but it wasn't like he stuck around to know much about him, he just knew their territory and ecosystem and not much else. "What are you doing out here. Hopefully not, okay I don't know, I'm not really the tough sort of person that throws accusations at people. Honestly I'm just enjoying the night in WinterClan, it's all very new to me. I think it's incredibly dangerous for you to be out, but I'm sure you do it all the time, everything's really new for me here," He admitted.
(Dude this is so weird, I thought I responded to this...)
Chestnutpaw found herself staring up aat the sky at the ex-cadet's words, her brow furrowed as she stared at the night sky which was bright thanks to a clear night. It wasn't an odd activity, but defitenly one that Chestnutpaw rarely heard of any Winterclan cat outwardly admitting it. Maybe it was a Regime thing?
The pupil watched calmly, a smile slowly growing as she listed to the Warrior nervously ramble on. The sight was endearing. "I sure it all is." She responded, her smile wide and bright at this point, unable to hold back her content. "I came out for a quick trip to get some cat mint." She said calmly, her heart racing at her lies. The ability to lie came surprisingly naturally for the pupil, but it made her nervous and anxious. "Plus, as you pointed out, the night is particularly pretty tonight."
"Wow, that's amazing of you," Snowbunny said, his eyes sparked with fascination as the wind just barely blew some of the long bangs from his lightning green gaze, "I bet you have to go out every night just to make ends meet, you're remarkable! In Renegade Regime we had dozens and sometimes dozens more of guiders who would collect all the herbs our medicine cat needed. You're doing this almost entirely by yourself, you're inspirational, I bet the guiders back home would be utterly blown away by this. Can I help you find some cat mint? Do warriors usually help, I feel they should, that's a lot-" He stopped himself short, "Apologies, I'm talking far too much. I would love to help you out if you would let me," He said, at first standing tall and alert before remembering once more WinterClan's sign of respect and instead dipped his head to her.
The on-slaughter of compliments made the pupil hot with embarrassment. She never really received this kind of attention, so her mind struggled to comprehend how to take the rain of compliments. A gentle breeze blew through the air, pushing away the snow-white cat's bangs revealing bright green eyes that almost glowed under the soft light the moon radiated above. Chestnutpaw found herself blinking away the shyness that grew in her to set aside a new intrigue and admiration for the pair of unique colored eyes.
The tortise-shelled she-cat listened on with interest. She had almost forgetten that Snowbunny was a Regime cat. He had been within Winterclan's care for so many moons and even assumed a Knight position. It made her curiosity for the warrior's past to grow as he spoke on.
Chestnupaw giggled outloud, her paw reaching out to her muzzle in attempt to muffle the growing laughter "No don't be sorry!" She meowed cheerfully "I like to hear what you have to say, even if it at the pace of a mad rabbit." She joked, her fluffy tail whisking around behind her in visible content. At his offer to join her, she felt herself laughter harder internally. Guess she was going to go herb hunting tonight! "I would really appreciate the company, if you really want to Snowbunny." Her words were softer, tinged with a sudden shyness.
Hearing the tinge in her voice transform into a shy nature made the heat rise in his cheeks all the way up to his tail tip. The feeling was so hot he wondered if it showed and rubbed the corner edge of his lip as though to make the sensation disappear, but it only grew, "Of course! Now that I'm not a captive in WinterClan anymore I can openly say that my dad used to be the commander of the Regime. I always felt like I had to be as perfect as him so I tried to help as much as possible and eventually it turned into a habit. I've never tried herb hunting, so it'll be a nice change of pace from what the medicine cats back at home usually gave me to help out. Plus you already seem like you'll be more fun to be around," Snowbunny purred lightly.
It felt nice to release that weight from his shoulders. For a while he had felt a bit empty being unable to talk about his family. In Renegade Regime family was such a main part of his life. Being unable to talk about his parents out of fear that they would use it to his disadvantage was disheartening, but now it finally felt like he could settle in. So long as Frostcloud would eventually stop hazing him.
