Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Any amount of cats and members can join in at any time! ^-^)
Sweetiepeach led the patrol to White Tree, which was highly unusual behavior as DayClan didn’t typically send patrols out for many purposes other than to set their borders and not so much to scare off intruders. However, since two days ago NightClan had claimed ownership of the White Tree on the hill at the corner of their territory Glowstar had sent a patrol out to see if NightClan was still there and to see if they could safely and peacefully get them to leave.
“Do you think they’ll still be there? Our land is farthest from them than any other Forest Clan and since they’re nocturnal it would be odd… The whole thing is odd, we love White Tree because it stands for unity and love, but there’s nothing to hunt there, why do they want it?” Sweetiepeach wondered aloud to her patrol.
Sweetiepeach had an interesting design pattern with black long fur, marigold eyes and white bengal legs that stood out strongly against her black fur.
Badgerpounce followed after the leader of their patrol. She wouldn't admit it aloud, but the thought of conflict sent excitement prickling through her black and white pelt. She knew that Glowstar wanted a peaceful conclusion to be reached, but it was in the small warrior's nature to immediately jump to... Testier solutions. Keeping pace, Badgerpounce progressed over the orange forest floor below, keeping her attention directly ahead to see when the White Tree emerged. "Never thought Nightclan would have the bravery to lay claims to something that obviously doesn't belong to them. Hard to say, they strike me as the type to throw their weight around when they think they're in the right." Funny that Badgerpounce resided in a Clan that mainly focused on peace, considering she behaved as if she believed in anything but.
Windchaser had joined the patrol. She was one of Dayclan's fiercest warriors with moons of battle training under her belt, if cats had belts. She was strong and fearless but Glowstar should have known better than to send Windchaser along on this patrol. She had started the last battle between Dayclan and Nightclan but she was one of their best weapons against the nocturnal clan. "If you ask me, they are nothing but shady cowards. I heard they were starting up an alliance with Renegade Regime. Dayclan is allied with the Renegade as well but it isnt very sturdy. The last thing we need is for the Renefade to be our enemy. I fear if Nightclan were to join forces with them, they could do serious damage to us. We must show Nightclan we do not fear them. They must know that they may have won White Tree for now but they will never get further than that so long as I'm still breathing." As they neared the White Tree, she could see at least two specks atop the hill. The ginger and white warrior began to bristle. "Great. Speaking of the devils. Remember, Glowstar wants us to try and get White Tree back peacefully. We must do our best to refrain from attacking them. However, if they attack us, we will show them what Dayclan is really made of." The immortal council member mewed to her patrol.
Nightclan
Flamingstar had assigned guard shifts to protect White Tree all day and all night and today, it was Umbrahound and Echomelody on the guard. Echomelody had been keeping watch while Umbrahound fell asleep on his post. As the Dayclan patrol approached, she shook Umbrahound from his dozing. "Umbrahound. Theres a Dayclan patrol approaching." She whispered before turning to see the Dayclan patrol climbing the hill.
Umbrahound rose to his paws, shaking off the sleep that was dragging at his paws. He gave Echolmelody a quick glance before facing the patrol. He slid out his claws. They would try to figure this out peacefully but if things weren't to go that way, they would have to fight their way out. "Good day." Umbrahound called to them as they neared.
At Windchaser's words, Badgerpounce felt another electrifying surge of excitement course through her. As she followed the patrol, the small she-cat flexed her claws in anticipation, ready to feel the flesh and fur of opposing Nightclan-
But, of course. The solution was to be pacifistic. And what Glowstar wanted, they would carry out. Don't get ahead of yourself. It's just a talk. Just a nice little chit-chat with cats so cowardly they need to rely on darkness to do anything. Badgerpounce's train of thought slowed to a stop as Windchaser proceeded to point out two cats atop the hill. Well. It was time to come to that peaceful solution everyone claimed they wanted. She suspected she wasn't the only cat ready to fling into a fight; because, come on, really sticking it to those who deserved it just felt so satisfying. If you weren't a cat like Badgerpounce, who never seemed to quell the intense fire within her. Black and white ears pushed forward in response to the greeting. She remained silent, knowing one of the higher ranking cats would be better off in this conversation.
(Sorry for the delay! I'm graduating a few weeks from now so I'm trying to get some finishing touches done on my portfolio. I should be back into full gear on Wednesday)
Sweetiepeach nodded in agreement with Windchaser, "NightClan might see that we're easy on SunClan, but there's no way we would treat them the same way."
For being a cat named Sweetiepeach she had been born into Primal Instinct with the brutal dictator Vera E'tani as a mother. She was no stranger to violence and could tell that DayClan's kindness was making other clans test the waters with them. She had heard that NightClan had outnumbered the patrol last time, but since the cats of NightClan were nocturnal she was certain that there wouldn't be many cats around now. Even if they were they had to be tired, which they could certainly use as an advantage.
"Good morning sleepy heads," Sweetiepeach said, an elegant smile hung across her lips as pretty as diamonds, "We wanted to check up on your patrol, see if you were really still here. Must be dreadful staying up all night, but don't worry, we can keep you mmm. Company."
Her marigold eyes for a moment met with Windchaser and Badgerpounce in a knowing look. Since the NightClan cats were nocturnal and already tired they could keep theem awake until they couldn't stand it anymore. Then it would just be a matter of easily removing the patrol and reclaiming their rightful border.
Windchaser noticed how tired the guards looked. The sun must be a strain on their eyes, too, since they live in darkness all the time. It would be an easy battle if they tried to defend the tree. She gave Sweetiepeach a quick glance before returning her gaze back to the Nightclan guards. Sweetiepeach might beat around the bush but Windchaser was going to get down to business. "Glowstar has sent us here to claim White Tree back. We can settle this peacefully or...we can make it difficult for you."
Umbrahound stepped forward, his gaze hardening. "Is that a threat?" He growled, flexing his claws.
Echomelody rolled her eyes and placed her tail on Umbrahound's chest, forcing him back. The black and white she-cat was no more than the size of an apprentice and she had intense forest green eyes. When she spoke, her voice was soft and nonthreatening. "Take it." Though her eyes were bright, there was clear exhaustion in them.
From her place at Sweetiepeach's other side, the small bundle of rage seemed surprised. Said rage would need to be vented somewhere else, because from Echomelody's words, it was clear the problem was already solved. Almost bashfully, she sheathed her claws, feeling a twinge of disappointment for not getting the chance to tear some ears. Which was awful, because pointless bloodshed was never good. And Badgerpounce's conscious was scolding her for desiring such awful things. Looking at the state of the Nightclan warriors, it really wouldn't be much of a challenge. There was no fun in an easy victory, either. This is what Badgerpounce decided to find solace in; not the fact that the White Tree was given up so easily, but she wasn't missing out on much of a fight, should violence had happened.
"Wow... That was easy." She quietly said, mostly to herself, accompanied by a smirk.
"Do you have bees in your brain, Echomelody? Dont you know what Flamingstar would do if she found out we gave away White Tree? She would have our heads!" Umbrahound mewed, his eyes widening.
Echomelody met his gaze calmly. "And what do we need White Tree for? We have no use for it. It is only a strain on Nightclan - a piece of worthless territory we cant afford to patrol and guard." Her tired gaze travelled back to the patrol. "Flamingstar took White Tree to see if the alliance between you and Sunclan had truly broken. Now that the alliance is back, Kotori is alive, and Flamingstar is...well...preoccupied at the moment, White Tree is the least of our worries. Take it. We will tell Flamingstar that we were outnumbered and Dayclan took it back. I dont want anymore unnecessary bloodshed."
Dayclan
Windchaser was ultimately surprised. She had not expected a surrender so easily. "Very well." The immortal council member mewed. "We will take White Tree back. We thank you for your cooperation." At that, she watched the Nightclan guards retreat.
"Sounds like not everyone in NightClan is happy with Flamingstar's decisions," Sweetiepeach said as she began walking up the hill to reclaim the corner scent markers. It felt right to take it back, this was a place where DayClan cats and their allies in SunClan would often meet. Many DayClan and SunClan lovers had met and spent time beneath this tree, it would feel wrong for NightClan to have it. She was certain if a SunClan patrol had spotted them first that unlike DayClan's peaceful nature that the NightClan patrol would have been shredded. As she got to the top she could see the NightClan members pelts moving into the forest clan gathering and likely back to their own territory.
"Hey, that's a battle won, looks like you got one wish," Sweetiepeach purred to Windchaser knowing that the she-cat wanted to win some sort of battle. Even if this was winning by default. Her tail twitched slightly as an after thought came to her mind, "Maybe Echomelody someday could be a resourceful spy. Don't you think Badgerpounce? She's uncertain about the leadership, but gets assigned to big jobs, she would be perfect."
Badgerpounce moved to follow after Sweetiepeach, intending to help reclaim the border. She stopped, however, directly under the White Tree. Looking up into its beautiful alabaster foliage, the breeze blew, creating the soft sound of wind rustling flowers and leaves. Inhaling and exhaling, she felt a dull twinge of peace, which was new for the black and white warrior. Breaking from her trance, her gaze lowered to look at the she-cat who'd mentioned her name and asked her a question. "Spy?" Badgerpounce echoed, thinking it over for a moment. "Well... It's difficult to gauge a personality when they behave like they've never seen the sun before. But I guess that's expected of cats who live their lives at night. She does seem to be..." The little she-cat padded to Sweetiepeach's side, looking out in the direction the two Nightclan cats had gone.
"A little bit apathetic. But, again, it's hard to tell if she was tired due to being awake at this hour, or tired of her Clan." Glancing from Sweetiepeach to Windchaser, Badgerpounce's whiskers twitched. "Do you two know her?" Having not spent much time among the Clans yet, she was curious about what she didn't know, and most of what she didn't know about was outside Clans.
Windchaser heard the other two cats talking but her gaze was focused on the tree-line where the two guards had disappeared. "Y'know...Echomelody was there at the time of the attack when they first claimed White Tree...she hardly even fought. I know she was more skilled in battle than that. She fought like a newly apprentice. Goldenphantom is a strong opponent but I feel like when Echomelody attacked her, she let Goldenphantom win..." the ginger and white immortal council member rubbed her chin as her mind wondered. "She either wanted Dayclan to win the attack or she was just really off her game...I guess the only way we would know if she would do that is to ask her, ourselves." She turned back to her patrol. "She may have stopped trying but that doesn't mean she will betray her clan. She was once Nightclan's most loyal member. She may still be loyal to Nightclan but not to Flamingstar. We will have to be cautious when talking to her."
Sweetiepeach looked back at Badgerpounce with a dangerously mischievous glint in her marigold eyes, "You up for the challenge of questioning her? We could always go back home and resume our typical lives or we could try and enlist a spy. Either works for me as I do love sleep, but I also love trouble so my minds constantly at war with itself," She said with a shrug. That comment was no surprise though, her father was the lazy leader of WinterClan at one point and her mother had been the nemesis extreme war general of Primal Instinct. With those two things blended it felt impossible for her not to have some sort of conflicting personality.
"We could just offer her to report information that she personally finds too inhumane. It might not always be much, but it's better than knowing nothing on what Flamingstar is planning," Sweetiepeach supposed.
"Maybe...what if she doesnt know she's a spy? What if we befriend her? Shes bound to vent to us if she feels she can trust us first. We will come back tonight and see if we can find her." Windchaser responded with certainty.
(Do you want to time skip or make another thread?)
Windchaser sat in camp, waiting patiently for the sun to set. After a long day, the sun finally lowered in the sky. She rose to her paws and padded over to where Sweetiepeach and Badgerpounce was. "Its time" he mewed, leading the way.
She felt as if she had earned a little more trust from her fellow warriors. Excitement was so very obvious in Badgerpounce's gaze, but part of this was a result of feeling a little closer to being truly accepted within Dayclan. She wouldn't fail either of her Clanmates tonight. Stumpy tail flicking back and forth for a few moments, the small she-cat padded up to Windchaser, at attention and ready to go. "Understood." Her voice was quiet, but hoarse with anticipation. She'd never done anything like this before.
Sweetiepeach brushed up next to Badgerpounce with a smile softer than flower petals, "First risky mission?" She asked, a playful wittiness in her tone, "mine too."
She had been too young when all the action was happening. When she was in Primal Instinct she had tried to run her mouth to the nemesis when she was just a youngling and was punished for moons after. For a long time she learned to stay out of a trouble and keep her head down, but lately she was coming out of her shell more. She felt safer now that she was in DayClan with her grandmother while still having her family with her like Fuzzyheart, Peachblush, and Ianius. Plus with good cats like Windchaser as authority figures everything ran smoothly. Even as Windchaser led the way ahead she could picture her as being a great leader someday.
Windchaser nodded to each of her patrol members and turned to lead them out of camp. She hadn't cleared this with Glowstar, yet, but she figured the leader would trust her with this decision. Besides, it wasn't like she was recruiting anyone as an official spy. She was simply making a friend with one of Nightclan's warriors. It wasnt long before they reached the White Tree. As they stood atop the hill, she turned to her patrol. "Remember, we are here to befriend Echomelody. Do not mention the spying. She may not agree to spy on her own clan and we have one chance at this. The best way is to befriend her and let her come to us about the news. The more she trusts us, the more information we will recieve." Windchaser then turned and headed for the tree line, keeping to the shadows though her fur didnt easily blend. She had to crouch behind thick undergrowth to keep her bright fur hidden. "Let's hope she passes by" Windchaser whispered.
