Silverpaw stood near the High Priestess' den the scent of her sister clearly coming from within. She had heard what happened at the mate choosing ceremony, and couldn't help but feel in part responsible... If only she had distracted Bloodyrondo long enough, then perhaps Satinpaw wouldn't be locked up like that. Poor Bloodyrondo was even being punished, it all seemed really unfair... What if her mom found out that she had snuck into the ceremony to? Would she be locked away?
So far it seemed like no one had told the High Priestess of her own involvement, and she could only hope that it would stay that way. Ugh... She needed someone to talk to... That was when she spotted Articpaw out in camp on her own "Hey Articpaw, take a walk with me?"
Arcticpaw looked up at Silverpaw, her eyes lowered, then looked up to the sky, "Okay," She said, standing up and walking beside Silverpaw, this time looking at her, "Are you sad?" Arcticpaw asked.
Arcticpaw hadn't gone to the festival at all, she wasn't interested in watching and understood the rules that apprentices couldn't participate. To Arcticpaw the rules were just rules set and stone, the idea of bending a rule or finding a loophole was so out of the realms of possibility to her that she couldn't even think of such a thing. As a kit she had heard the story of the sun and moon and had made the mistake of saying she loved the moon. Until she found out it was bad to love the moon, she had felt so awful that she spent a whole hour apologizing to the sunny sky and had even made up her own action packed story of the Sun God as an apology gift to him. When she heard Satinpaw made a mistake she felt bad for her, she couldn't' imagine her sister intentionally breaking the rules and thought it must have been an accident she was being punished for.

"Not exactly" she replied glancing around to make sure that no one would over hear them "Its about Satinpaw" she nervously glanced over as a group of warriors had started to return "but we need to leave so that we can talk before mom gets back..." she trailed off fidgeting with her paws
Arcticpaw stared at her sister blankly as though for a moment she wasn't going to understand and turn the other way, but instead she nodded her head, "Okay."
She stood up and followed after Silverpaw, her olive gaze a bit more attentive than usual.
Silverpaw waited until she was confident that they wouldn't be overheard to start talking "Did you see what happened with Satinpaw and Bloodyrondo?" she looked down at her paws "I don't think I have ever seen mom that angry. I..." she stopped herself knowing that if she said anything about her involvement in it that Articpaw wouldn't be able to keep it a secret "I...we should do something to help her. All she wanted was to show mom how much she loves Bloodyrondo"
"No," Arcticpaw replied the moment her sister asked if she saw anything. She hadn't even gone to the romance festival, she did go on a blind date, but the tom, Romancefable she was paired with didn't show up. She had waited for an hour before deciding he wasn't coming. It was too bad because she had neatly groomed her tail for that date, but when the hour passed her tail was full of knots from her twisting her insecurities into her fur.
"I want to cheer Satinpaw up, but I don't want to make mom upset and Satinpaw also broke the rules," Arcticpaw said, simply, it was amazing how stoic she could look, it always held a certain graceful appearance, but her paws fidgeted against once another. It was hardly nerves and more so a visual of her mind at work being displayed by the quick movements of her paws.

"I'm not talking about cheering her up, I'm talking about helping her...." she swallowed hard looking down at her paws "It's my fault that she broke the rules... If I told mom do you think it would make a difference?"
"No," Arcticpaw said almost immediately, "Satinlights doesn't need help because moms there for her," She said with certainty.
She couldn't imagine her mom being mean to Satinlights, nor had her mom ever been anything, but kind to her. When she was a kit her mom only yelled at her when she didn't understand how unsafe she was being. So if her mom was punishing Satinlights it had to be to keep her safe. Faith in authority figures came naturally to her, but she understood why her sisters behaved this way, they were all born under the heart symbol. However Arcticpaw never felt she fit the heart zodiac, she was not charismatic nor was she impulsive or always open to new ideas. It was too bad because she liked to research and memorize the zodiacs. But when it came down to her own zodiac it never felt as fun because nothing about it matched her. Even when there were horoscopes they never seemed to fit her, like she was out of the cosmic loop.
