Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Autumngossamer had just burst into camp like a rabbit fleeing from bloodhounds and since no one at first confronted her she had just begun making herself at home. Really at home... She was starting to make a nest and since she was Soothsayer of SunClan it was a bit of odd behavior for the pregnant she-cat. Glowstar considered going up to her, but wondered if maybe someone else should. Having the leader approach always made people feel uncomfortable at first. Glowstar leaned over to the cat closest to her, "Go talk to her and see what's up and then come back and tell me," Glowstar whispered in a whispery loud voice to the cat next to her.
Peachblush considered Glowstar’s order for a brief second, before giving her a tight-lipped nod and setting course for the Soothsayer. He didn’t like the fact that Glowstar apparently thought she could just boss him around however she liked, but he had very little energy to argue with her at the present moment.
“Autumngossamer,” he said, greeting the she-cat with a dip of the head. A fairly generic greeting among Clan cats, but one she’d hopefully recognise as deliberately un-antagonising. “I, uh—it’s...nice to see you. Do you need any help with...that thing you’re doing?” It was a supremely unconvincing attempt at casual conversation, which seemed to be par for the course for Peachblush lately. “...What are you doing, by the way?”
"I'm moving in for a moon or two if it's serious. I'm pregnant and I just don't want to be in SunClan when I give birth because I just kind of feel... Objectified and I don't want to feel that way when I'm having kits. That and we don't have a medicine cat and a leader, the leader is the medicine cat and that's just so embarrassing for the leader to give me commands and have seen me at my most vulnerable and embarrassing moment, I just can't handle that," Autumngossamer explained as she continued to make her nest, "My mates here too, he's just still grabbing us some prey in SunClan."
It was at that moment that Peachblush realised how out of touch he was with Clan culture these days. Was cats from other Clans moving in with their neighbours for moons at a time just a common thing, now? Glowstar had seemed surprised, at least. I suppose that's what I get from isolating myself for moons on end.
"Objectified...? he echoed, brow furrowing. He'd never given birth before - that was Poppyheart's job, praise whatever deity he was supposed to be believing in now - but he could understand not wanting to feel vulnerable in full view of her boss. "I mean, I'm sure you can stay here," he added hastily, "but I think you're supposed to, um, perhaps -- check in first. Did you...do that?"
"Yes Peachy, I checked in with my inner mind and decided I'm going to stay here. Glow, do you have the nerve to say no to me?" Autumngossamer asked in her typical whiny authoritative tone.
"Y-No. No." Glowstar said losing her confidence half way through and walked off in a sulky mood.
"Well okay then," Autumngossamer said as she continued to make the nest, "So, you're a warrior Peachy, would you be able to help me make this nest? Trust me, I like being treated like a literal queen, but I hate being this helpless where I can't make my own nest, but I kind of need some help at some angles. If you could just follow my paws so I can knot it into place while you hold it?" She asked and as she worked she continued talking, "Anyways yeah, I was objectified when the Sun God forcibly made it where my body doesn't function right and then without my consent made my body reject birth controlling herbs, didn't tell me he did that, and then when I did get pregnant is just treating me like I'm just this thing that is supposed to have kits so there's nothing wrong that he forced me to have them right?" She looked stressed out, her fur on end, tears welling up in her eyes, but beyond that scared. Her eyes were large with fear as the story unraveled and when she was done letting it all out it was only when the emptiness and sorrow filled her chest that she realized how much of herself she had clung onto just to keep herself together. Now feeling the void that was left after retelling everything she could feel everything the Sun God had taken from her. Security in her own body, her confidence and pride, her ability to trust her own clanmates. Autumngossamer leaned into Peachblush's chest, normally never exposing this side of herself, but she had also never felt this winded, there was no choice in this moment, "I'm sorry I'm a total wreck right now. I just. I'm really scared that the Sun God can do that to me and I just... I feel so ashamed allowing myself to be victimized like this. I thought I was stronger..."
