Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
If there were ever a good time to make herself scarce, this was probably the time. It was probably the time to get as far away from the groups as absolutely possible, but she wasn't the type who enjoyed self-preservation. If she would die, dammit, she would die. If she would be thrown back into that prison, she would go in proudly, her chin up and her shoulders back. That's how she had always been taught. Anyone who did anything else, anyone who sought to save their own skin in the face of danger, well, they were little more than cowards to her. Only cowards ran. Of course, perhaps you could argue that she was running. The fact that she didn't stay in the city probably meant that she was a coward. Yet, she hadn't made the trail very hard to find. After all, she had left her calling card right under the shaman's body, a single strand of lavender. If they wanted to find her, all they had to do was look for the feline who smelled so unmistakably of the sweet fragrance.
Now, what on earth could make a feline like her resort to the murder of a powerful cat? The long-furred white - with - grey splotched she-cat didn't look like one to take another life into her paws. However, Avette was just doing the work of those that had come before her. She was simply taking an eye for an eye. Nyiradessa had killed her father, it was only natural that she would have to kill Nyiradessa. Of course, Avette had taken her sweet time with it. There had been years since the murder of Jynx E'tan. But, that was all part of the game. Av had always been in it for the long haul, anyways.
She licked the final speck of blood off of her paw before pulling herself into a fully comfortable position. Based on her sense of the world, she must be in the forest clans by now. She sighed deeply, before rolling to her side. They were always boring to her, almost as boring as the lineages in which she was supposedly heralded from. But, at least it beat the city, and at least someone would provide her for at least a little amusement when they found her.
Whether it be luck or misfortune, it really depended on who you asked. For Levee he would of considered himself lucky in the current circumstances. Being a wanderer for nearly his whole life he was never one to settle down in one place and state a family but boy oh boy did Selene have other plans in mind for him. He went from a wanderer with no family aside from his mate and litter-mate to the leader of a clan in what felt like literally over night. It was nothing the black and white tom couldn't handle of course, and if he ever needed it he had his sister and mate to lean on when things became too much. However, on nights like tonight he couldn't bring himself to unload his burdens onto them, or anyone else for that matter. Tonight he intended to shove his problems into the far recesses of his mind. Tonight Leviathan's sole focus would be on his hunt.
Or it would of been if he hadn't of been distracted by the overwhelming scent of lavender the very moment he opened his mouth to taste the air. As sweet as it was he had never much cared for the scent at all, and now all it did was leave a bad taste on his tongue and cause his amber eyes to water. He wrinkled his velvet nose in disgust as he turned his head in the direction the scent was coming from. He hadn't yet had the chance to explore every inch of his territory but he was certain that the purple flower didn't grow in mass enough in this area to cause a scent that strong to reach him. No this had to be intentional.
Hunt forgitten he turned his paws in the direction of the flowery essence that wafted towards him. The moon's light illuminated his white fur giving him a glowing appearance, and turning the black patches of his pelt almost gray. He hadn't been expecting to find the source of this perfume just loafing about on his territory but as always his curious nature got the better of him ans he strolled right up to the she-cat. "And here I thought I knew every cat inside MoonClan's boarders but, it would appear as though I have overlooked one" he purred in amusement.
She didn't seem too bothered by the fact that he had come up to her, at least, not nearly as bothered as she should have been. It was dangerous, to sit on the territory of someone else. She should have cared more. However, there was a part of her that knew that she was in no real danger. She would walk out of this unharmed, just as she always did. Well, even if it wasn't unharmed, she would be alright when she stood on her paws the next day to move on to the next destination. Because of this, it was almost too slow the way that she turned her head in his direction. She blinked once, before finding herself in a slightly more... put together position. Although she experienced no fear of the tom, that didn't mean she needed to be laying down. She at least needed to be able to move to the defensive if that was what was necessary. She tilted her head and let out a soft laugh at his words.
The sound of her laugh was light and soft as her gaze found their way to his. Despite the... situation she had been in hours before, her gaze was soft and warm. Her baby blue eyes showed no hint of bloodlust or malice, no hint of aggression. These things were unlike the she-cat. Even when she was doing the parts of her job that were... unpleasant... she did them with grace and kindness. After all, everything she did she did to restore order, to right the wrongs of the world, to calm her sense of duty... Her thoughts trailed slightly, before she pulled her focus back to him. She offered a slight twitch of her tail, before opening her mouth to speak.
"MoonClan, is that where I ended up?" Her voice was charming and interested as she looked at him, tail flicking contentedly. Her muscles, though, were tensed. Always prepared. "If it wasn't for my intrusion, I'm sure that you would," she then clarified. "Although," she purred softly, "I am one that folks often overlook." This was a semi-truth. Cats who were ignorant overlooked her. Those who had any sense of intuition knew that that was a bad idea. "My name is Avette, and I was just passing through. Something drew me to stop here, but I can be on my way if you'd like."
Levee tilted his head, his amber eyes catching the moonlight. He regarded Avette with veiled curiosity. As always his tail waved to and fro calmly behind him as though it had a mind of it's own. Standinding still was never easy for the cardinal. How he ever managed to sleep at all was beyond him. While the other clans, save their northern nocturnal neighbors, MoonClan was very much awake and going about their business as usually. It was lucky for her that Levee had been the one to find her here, he doubted one of his patrols would of been this friendly towards an interloper. He looked around, getting his bearings towards their surroundings. If he had to guess she had to of either come here from the western clans or from Primal Instinct in the south. he knew more than likely she had probably come from Primal given the fact that the cats in the other clans were too wary to stray onto his territory, at least when he was awake that is.
Normally he wasn't too fond of outsiders himself, too many unknowns. Trust was something he valued, and those who had not earned his often met their willing, yet still untimely death. He had no qualms when it came to murder, understanding that while it was unpleasant for most it was a necessary evil that at times could not be avoided. Yet something about this she cat made him want to trust her, not wholly mind you but, perhaps enough to let her linger. She had a story to tell, and he knew it. Why else would this sweet smelling she cat just happen to end up on his territory on a night like this? The only thing he had to do was get her to tell it.
"It is indeed." he purred, sitting and wrapping his fluffy tail neatly over his paws. Now that his paws were still, his claws moved, kneading into the grass beneath them idly. His claws tearing up the blades from the earth. The sensation of sinking his claws into something only made the purr in his throat grow louder, the only indication of his delight as he watched the she-cat with his usual calm expression. "Greetings Avette, my name is Leviathan. Might I ask how exactly you ended up here?"
Leviathan, she tilted her head in interest, was she speaking to the MoonClan leader? A soft hint of amusement shown through her gaze; what an interesting development of her night. The leaders of groups were always interesting to her. They were all so bizarre to her; what drew them to lead gangs of wild housecats? It was a question she'd always wanted to ask, but, alas, the creature of the night never had the opportunity. This didn't seem like the opportunity, either, at least not yet. Maybe, maybe if she spent long enough here, if she gathered his trust, she'd be able to ask him one day. She blinked at herself; that was a strange thought. For a moment, she had actually considered settling down here. Now that was bizzare; Avette had been a rogue since her father stepped down as League leader, and that was years ago. Why, then, would she be suddenly interested now? She didn't have an answer.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Leviathan, Cardinal of MoonClan," she meowed, offering him a dip of her head. She wanted to show him off the bat that she was a learned fellow. She might not be a clan cat, may not be settled down, but she kept careful check on those who lead the groups, mostly to save her own tail. After all, with some of these leaders in the forest, it was important to make yourself scarce before they found you and caused trouble. She smiled again, before letting out a soft laugh at his next word. "What a question," she hummed, her voice both amused and soft. "What a question indeed." Of course, she wouldn't be able to tell him the full story. It didn't look like he smelled blood, which meant that admitting her escapades would not be an intelligent move.
"It's mostly a long, boring story. I was out paying a family friend a visit," she didn't stumble over the words, but there was a momentary passing glance in her eyes that suggested that she didn't like referring to the cat that she 'visited' a family friend. "And, well, afterwords I just let myself walk. I wasn't really sure where I would end up, but there's something peaceful about the night. I could have stayed walking all night, but something told me that I needed to stay here. Perhaps the fates decided that we needed to meet, hmm?"
