Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Satinpaw sat quietly in her mother's den. What could she do? Getting angry and wrecking the place wouldn't accomplish anything. She had already said what she had intended to say and to do anything more would just be overkill. So she just sat there calmly waiting for Littlestar to arrive and tell her how horrible she had been and how much trouble she was in. None of it would matter to her though. She was already forbidden from seeing her mate, nothing short of death would truly keep the two of them apart. Surely the high priestess had to know this. The young cat shook out her pelt trying to suppress the chill that crept up her spine. Despite how warm it was today she was cold even her own long fluffy fur did little to starve off the empty cold feeling that had claimed her.

SunClan High Priestess
The Peace Keeper
Several hours had passed, and only after Foxstar's interference and some alone time with Skipstep had managed to soothe the rage that had spilled over in such a dramatic fashion. On the way back she had even managed to catch a small rabbit to bring back to Satinpaw. She sat it down at her daughter's paws not saying a word and turning to settle into her nest giving her distance. She might be angry, but Satinpaw still need to eat. She closed her eyes simply listening to the sound of her own breathing. If Satinpaw wanted to talk, then they would talk. Otherwise she would give her daughters some space to sulk.
Satin stayed quiet for several moments longer, she hardly spared the rabbit so much as a glance. She was far from hungry. Even if she was she knew it wouldn't taste like anything anyway. All she had ever wanted was to make her parents proud by doing her best for SunClan and one day taking a mate and kits. Now it seemed like that was nearly impossible.
"Can you at least tell me why?" She asked softly, not even bothering to look at Littlestar. "And don't say it's because I broke the rules."
"love..." one simple word but it meant so much more than that. The weight of it felt heavy on her tongue, leaving the silence to float between them for a few more moments. "No matter what you might think of me right now, I did this because I love you Satinpaw.." rather than trying to hide from her emotions, she let the tears streak down her face.
"Let me tell you a story.. My story... Just stop and listen, and I swear to speak the truth, and you can draw your own conclusions" she hadn't spoke of this with this litter of kits, trying to leave her past behind her now that she and Skipstep had been officially married
"You already know this, but Skipstep wasn't my first love... Lionpride and Fernskips father... He was my first love. His name was Leatherstar. From the moment we were born we were destined to become mates. It had been decided by out parents, blessed by StarClan, then sealed by fate. A that time.. nothing was more important to me than him. I wanted nothing more than to carry his children, to make my father proud, and become the next leader of WinterClan. You already know how that ended.. How my parents killed each other in cold blood and I was brought to SunClan and chosen by the Sun God to become the Priestess Promised" she paused, squeezing her eyes shut as the memories became more and more painful
"Even then it seemed that the two of couldn't escape one another... He was soon promoted to WinterClan's deputy, and the two of use began to see one another in secret. Sneaking out late at night to steal away kisses in the moonlight, spending our night cuddled under the star. We thought it was harmless. After all it was true love... Who would stand in the way of that? Yet when I found out I was pregnant... it changed things. Where would the kits live? How would they be raised? How could they have one paw in each world? How would have two parents each a deputy in very opposite clans effect them? WinterClan needed him... SunClan needed me...
You might not understand this now, but the ONLY thing stronger than true love is a mother's love for their children. I did what I had to to protect my growing family, and put my love for Leatherstar aside. I pushed him away, doing everything in my power to break his heart and put an end to our relationship. But nothing I did could stop his love for me, even when he found out that I had taken a mate in SunClan.
But its what happened next that I want you to hear... to listen carefully. The day I gave birth to his kits, I almost DIED. I was far to young, my body far to small and frail. It took three healers working on me to keep death from claiming me. No one knew if or when I would recover, and when I had awakened only to find out that three of the kits I had carried within me had been lost. I insisted upon burying them myself, their loss nearly driving me to the verge of insanity. I wanted to end my life, to join them in the after life...
Satinpaw you have my genes, its rather clear to see. Your even smaller and younger than I was when I got pregnant. If you were to bear kits now with a tom Bloodyrondos size... There is little I could do to save you. They would tear you apart from the inside out while everyone that you love is forced to watch you fade away. I know that I over reacted in the ceremony... But seeing you with him, its like looking into my past. If you truly want to be with him, all I ask is that you wait... Wait until your body is mature enough to handle it. You think your mature enough to handle it, but your body isn't ready. I have always stood aside and allowed you to make your own mistakes to take whatever path you wished to tread... but don't do this... don't make stand by and watch you repeat the very mistake that I made... Don't make me bury another child when I can do something to stop it"
Sarinpaw listened carefully to her mother as she spoke of her first love, she knew that Fernskip and Lionpride were not her father's but it wasn't something that any of her family ever spoke about openly, not that it held any relevance now. They were still her siblings regardless. It was only went she got to the part about why she has forbid her and Bloodyrondo to become mates that her serious demeanor broke, and she started to laugh, quietly at first and then it be same hysterical. Soon the small she-cat was laughing so hard tears welled up in her blue eyes. After several moments of hysteric laughter was she able to take a couple deep breaths and was able to compose herself.
"I'm sorry.." she spoke finally fighting back another chuckle. "That's all?" She asked in mild disbelief. Still she shook her head and continued. "Mom I had no intentions of baring his kits right away or any time soon. I want to be one a Janus, if the Sun wills it. I just want to make you and dad proud, I can't do any if that if I have kits right now."

"You say that now.." she shook her head, almost not believing her ears. Had Satinpaw really laughed just now "I never intended on carrying his kits either... Look how about you and I work out a deal just between you and I. I trust you, its Bloodyrondo that worries me..." she trailed off looking out into the shared common space
"First, the sun god has already decided on a punishment for Bloodyrondo. Not for falling in love with you, as much probably believes that... but for his disobedience and questioning his High Priestess. For the duration of his punishment I will have to keep you here. My paws are tied. He is the Priest Promised and needs to learn if he is ever to take over the clan one day..
Secondly, I want you to start taking some herbs that I will prepare for you each morning. To ease my mind if nothing else. They won't harm you, but will keep you from getting pregnant on accident. When the time comes and you are ready, we can have a serious talk about stopping them. As soon as they are out of your system you will be able to conceive. I'm not saying that I never want you to have kits, you just need to give your body time to mature. This will prevent any accidents from occurring in the mean time, and give me some peace of mind. Once his punishment is over and you have taken the herbs I won't stand in your way of being with him.
Thirdly... I want you to come with me to a kitting. You have heard my words, but you have never seen it for yourself. I need to know that you are taking me seriously, and that you understand how much danger a pregnancy would place you in right now. Even if your not planning on kits right away, the experience will be good for you. When your old enough you will have an idea of what the process is like"
Satinpaw nodded, watching her mom closely to show that she really was listening. How had things gotten so bad? The only goal she strived for was to be a Janus like her father. It just so happened that she had also fallen for the priest promised. It seemed that she was destined to walk a similar path to her mother regardless of their different circumstances. Seeing the similarities of their situation helped the apprentice understand why her mother was so worried. No mother wants their kit to suffer through what they have.
"Yes, on all accounts. I'm sorry for laughing, and... for what I said during the ceremony..." the young cat's voice trailed off and her ears flattened against her head in shame. "I understand why you're concerned but, I'm not you mom..." her ears perked up and she was quick to continue before the high priestess could take her words the wrong way. "What I mean is, I can't learn from your mistakes, only my own. You just have to let me make them first." Her argument sounded weak to her own ears she just hoped that her mother would understand what she meant.
