Even in a group that was meant to make her feel more at home, Pygmyprawn felt more alone than ever. She knew her kits were alive in Fallclan and she was able to live every day with her best friend, yet an ache still hollowed out a hole in her heart. As she rested in the shade of a sad, little half-dead sycamore, the mottled warrior knew she needed to take a walk and get whatever was bothering her out of her chest. Unfortunately, Chim seemed busy these days and she couldn't ask him. Maybe it was time to make another friend to keep her company when he couldn't...ugh. That just irritated her.
His paws audible against the ground, he approached from behind her and settled down by her right side. His legs stretched out comfortably to the side of him and he parted his jaws in a loose yawn. "What a cheery place you've found to sleep," he noted, flicking his tail back toward the pathetic tree shading them. "Having a good day?"
Sometimes Chim was still surprised she'd followed him all this way. There had been her little... confession... back in SummerClan, but that hardly explained her persistence to follow him from clan to clan even without her family. He was immensely grateful as always she was there at his side, but he wasn't the best at being a friend, especially now that he had so much of his own to worry about. Well, he always had a lot to deal with, so maybe he just wasn't a very good friend at all. He'd already lost Tuskblood in a situation like this, though, and he was determined not to lose Pygmyprawn the same way.

Pygmyprawn let out a snort and prodded him in the side with one slender mottled paw. "Yeah, well the new company kind of matches it, huh?" She teased with narrowed, humored eyes. Of course he would find her. She was silly to think that new friends were ever going to help. No, Chim was the only cat she needed around and the only one she had come to trust. Despite his business, there was no one that relaxed, yet troubled, her more than him. It was strange, but the ache was almost a drug for her now.
She blinked a few times and let out a yawn. "You know, I think I enjoy this nomad life. Don't like the tree you're resting under? Don't worry, in a few days you'll find a better one. Now I see why kits love to sneak out and explore all the time." Her musings were a poor excuse for casual conversation. However, she didn't feel the pressure to make good, thoughtful sentences around Chim...especially since that one day. Nope, she had sworn out any deep emotional conundrums for a while.
"I'll have you know I'm an optimist now," he retorted. "I think this nomadic life is going great. Like you said, new trees every day. No concerns or anything." The salt in his voice was strong enough to stop the oceans from freezing. They had only chosen to move because the clan was starving, and walking all the time wasn't making it any easier to find prey. Every location around them was unfamiliar and food was hard to find some nights. It was a hard life, stressful and difficult, bound for failure really...
... and yet. He enjoyed it. Chim sighed, letting his fears go as he raised his stern half-gaze to her. "I don't care how well you relate to them," he told her, giving her a push with his shoulder, "if you start leading all the clan's kits on fun expeditions to find gloomy trees, I will exile you. If I don't, Wildrain might kill you herself for getting her kits stolen again."
