Lucistic had been tasked with kidnapping Duskslayer from the Regime by Kotori who in turn promised Lucistic that that if he followed through he could dive into the red ant farm for twenty minutes. Duskslayer had only met Lucistic once when he was a kit and he had presumed that it was the kit memories that distorted his view and made him remember Lucistic as a giant, but when he had come up and grabbed him by his throat and started dragging him away he had realized that Lucistic was as big as he remembered. Duskslayer had small traces of dried up blood on his hind leg and back of the neck from when he tried to fight back only for Lucistic to land two hard punishing blows onto him. They didn't wound bad, but Lucistic was good at knowing where people were most afraid of being hurt and easily could make the majority of cats submit to him. Lucistic dragged Duskslayer into Kotori and Zakiyyah's den space and placed him in the corner before walking away without saying anything, probably heading straight to the red ants.
"Dammit this is bad timing, Zak, can you please be my rock for the 90 millionth time and watch Duskslayer. I have to go, it's my first day running my own black market shop. I didn't think Lucistic would procrastinate for this many days and bring him in on today of all days. But I also can't have Lucistic be in my shop alone, please, pretty please? He looks damaged and you can take him if he tries to run," Kotori encouraged.

"...You can't push it back an hour or convince Senescence to watch him?" Zakiyyah asked, wiping a paw down her face as she gave a heavy sigh. Of course, she immediately contradicted her own question by waving him away with a paw. "Go, go. I'll keep him occupied. If somehow this backfires and I die some horrible death, just know that I'm haunting you." She was joking about the death part of course, but entirely serious about the haunting. The enforcer was a hundred percent blaming her littermate if their younger sibling murdered her.
Speaking of siblings, the tall feline turned to face him. Zakiyyah, for her part, was incredibly tall. Taller than Glowstar and Sean, even taller than Senescence, though by comparison, she was significantly more slim and pretty than the demonic Proxy. Too innocent china doll blue eyes peered at the younger tom, piercing and sharp despite the veil of naivety. "I'd ask you to introduce yourself, but I already know you well enough, Duskslayer. But that's fine. I'm more curious as to if you know who I am."
Kotori whispered out a thank-you before slipping out of the den.
Duskslayer looked up at Zakiyyah deciding to stay down and not pick a fight with her for the time being. Normally he would have to rack his name to remember an Eerie family member, but Kotori had given him a hint by calling her Zak and the rest of her name came naturally, "You're Zakiyyah, but I nick named you the golden shadow. You're a lot taller than I thought you would be, are you really from Kotori's litter?" Did she steal all of Kotori's height plus... The rest of the litter that she swallowed up wit her? Taking a breath he remembered the first step Glowstar told him in any situation, observe the environment around you and once you understand it you may run. They were in a building, it was dark and while typically he could see fine in the dark where Lucistic had placed him was further back in the corner while Zakiyyah blocked most of his view.
He tried to keep tabs of everyone in his family and take mental notes of everything he learned about them. There was a surprising wealth of information about every Eerie family member, but Zakiyyah was by far the most mysterious. He knew she was perfect, beloved, and an overall allstar Regime cat. But then she left the Regime for Primal Instinct and since then she had been off the radar. The only updated information he had was that she was often seen around Kotori, which in the moment was confirmed. However there were gaps in the story and everyone in the Eerie family one was or another seemed to leave a mark and the fact that everywhere she walked she never left a paw print was... Almost creepy

"Well, I gotta give you credit for paying attention in your 'dead to me' relatives class." She mused. Honestly, it was both surprising, yet not, that he'd recognized her. As far as appearances went, she certainly was striking. Ebony fur, with an auburn 'dress' of sorts around her middle and cut in a deep V shape down her chest, with two gloved white forepaws, a tiara of blood and a spray of rusted freckles across her cheeks. Not exactly the fade into the crowd type, and yet, somehow, she managed it. If she hadn't been caught by Innocentia, no one would probably have even known for certain she'd helped out the Shadow era cats.
Guess she was an amazing spy, after all. Not that she'd been all too busy. Mostly, she had been hanging around her littermate and little else, keeping her head down. So much for that, if Dusky now had a face to a name and history. "Yep, definitely his littermate, but you knew that. So, tell me, then, 'brother dearest'. Do dear old mom and dad talk about us, or are we just that taboo a topic? Oh, and how is life in the Regime compared to a cult?" It was hard to tell if she was genuinely interested in his life, or just sarcastic and searching for weaknesses to use against him in one way or other.
"If I were to have been raised by Sean and Shule I would have never knew about... Probably anyone, Glowstar always filled me in and just told me to never meet you or Kotori because she felt like you two would kill me. Super polite of you to wait for your brother before doing something horrible to me, I always admire that strong sibling bond," He said with a weak sheepish smile, half wondering if he should change personalities, but decided that this feeling was like being at the end of a plank, if he crowded the plank with too many personalities he would fall off.
"Any house rules?" Duskslayer asked, clearly avoiding the topic of SunClan and the Regime, after all SunClan had a rule about never talking about SunClan affairs... Which was hard because then they also wanted to spread the word about the Sun God, but it was hard to do when cats asked questions he wasn't allowed to answer and the suspicions only made cats turned off and gullible cats intrigued. But either way he wasn't allowed to spill so he stayed away from the topic hoping that Zakiyyah wasn't actually that interested. "Maybe the house rule is no killing cute impressionable little brothers?"

"Not surprising. If Shule and Sean had it their way, we'd be scrubbed from the family tree altogether. And, effectively, I guess we have, since no one sees fit to acknowledge us but the other side of the family. Mmm, pity. You didn't answer my question though, don't think I didn't notice. I'll get to rules and regulations in my own time, if I feel like it. A lot can happen in a few minutes and hours, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you." Zakiyyah was a hard cat to read, and a harder cat to distract. She spent her youth training to read cats in the Regime, and her life in the League trying to keep track of the Proxies, including the things they didn't want her to know, to make sure they were doing their jobs.
It felt like all of his interactions with his family were leading him up to this very moment. He couldn't read any of his family members to decide their intent or if they were good or evil and it was only in this moment that he realized the answer didn't matter. They were chaotic and whatever they felt was fleeting, their emotions on an entirely different timeline than the average feline. Whatever Zakiyyah felt or thought, might not last long because at the end of the day she was still an Eerie and like the rest her mind was always turning. "I'm not allowed to talk about SunClan and I shouldn't talk about the Regime either. Honestly I have a lot of questions for you too, but it's not really polite to ask a question when I'm refusing to answer one."
Duskslayer sat up and leaned to the right to try and peer over Zakiyyah's shoulder to see where he was even if it made his neck ache at the exertion. While Zakiyyah hadn't named any rules yet and thus, in his mind, meant he could just walk out the door he didn't try it yet. Mainly because he was in a conversation and it was rude to just walk away, especially when she hadn't done anything yet. "I did answer one of your questions though, so I guess I can ask you one question. Do you like being an Eerie?"

"Before I answer, I suppose I should have you clarify. What does it mean to be an Eerie?" Zakiyyah returned the question with one of her own, curious as to his definition of what it meant to be part of their particular family. It wasn't really something she herself had considered for too long, so she supposed she wanted his answer in turn to build her own answer off of his. Could she have refused to answer? Yes, of course. But she didn't particularly expect much trouble from Dusky. She was relatively confident that if not her, someone, would have him dead before he made it to the borders anyhow, if necessary. Not that she thought their mother would react well to the news of her having a part in his death.
"Oh, I think being an Eerie is just about being a part of the family," Duskslayer said without any hesitation. Most people on Sean's side were quick to say blood or hesitant on what their answer would be. But when you were raised by Glowstar answers about family life came naturally.

The enforcer dared to look amused by such an answer. Surprisingly simple, to be honest, albeit a bit surprising given which side of the family he had been born to. Then again, he'd been raised largely by Glowstar, in and out of SunClan from a young age. Perhaps it wasn't so strange that his perspective was unusual when compared to someone Regime born and raised, even if bearing the same parents.
She leaned back to consider it, her expression not shifting even a fraction as she simply watched him. Was she enjoying being part of the Eerie family? "There's pros and there's cons. It's not a question I've considered enough to give you much of an answer." Zakiyyah stated. "Certainly, the situation has far too much nuance for a simple yes or no. I suppose a concise, but not necessarily helpful, answer would be that I don't often feel like an Eerie." She knew she was part of the family, yes. But after leaving with Kotori, she'd sort of mentally separated herself from her family. Even knowing Lucistic and Senescence were her cousins, she wouldn't necessarily have considered herself 'part of the family' so how could she give an accurate answer when she had none?
"Must be nice, I always feel too much like one. Every SunClan cat dreams to fit in like me and they all want a boring family with lots of kits and i just don't. I know it's a cult and I really can't one hundred percent be behind it for that reason. Ignorance would be bliss though," Duskslayer admitted before tilting his head at her, "So any activities planned for this evening?"
He was considering leaving, but would wait. If what Zakiyyah said was right and she didn't feel like an Eerie she likeyl couldn't channel that same dark side of herself. She was numb, he could feel it, she had more grace than rage in her. Even if she could turn it on like a switch it would either take a moment or not last long, that was the price of being detached.
