Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Eveningkit poked her little white muzzle out of the nursery. Just as she did, a rain drop fell from the clouded skies and landed on her heart-shaped pink nose. Shocked, she withdrew back into the den. She was now old enough to be exploring the camp but the weather wasn't exactly in her favor. As much as she wanted to go out, she was unsure about the gentle rain fall.
She leaped into the air and then ducked down into the nest as a soft rumble of thunder rolled across the sky. She peaked back over the nest to the den entrance, one hear forward and the other sideways. She was looking to see what that sound was with wide blue eyes. The cats that were out in the camp seemed unfazed by the sound and by the rain. She glanced over her shoulder to see her siblings were still asleep though their mother was somewhere out of the den.
Gathering up her courage, she climbed back out of the nest and made her way over to the den entrance once more. After a moment of hesitation, she placed a paw out of the den. The soft ground felt squishy and slimy under-paw. She cautiously exited the den, feeling the spitting rain drops take turns dripping onto her ginger and white fur. She scurried forward a few steps before halting and crouching in fear as another rumble vibrated the ground and the air around them. Her wide eyes looked toward the sky. She had to blink to avoid rain drops getting into her eyes. She didn't realize the world was this big!
She decided she didn't want to be out there anymore and turned to run back to the safety and dryness of the nursery. Just as she turned, she came into contact with something soft and fuzzy letting out a muffled "Oof".
"Mph," Lostkit let out a small grunt as Eveningkit him and wiped his chest fur with his paw as though Eveningkit was dirty. Him and Aster were the biggest in the den about ready to become apprentices, but Lostkit was definitely the fluffiest DayClan cat there was looking more like a snow leopard than a bengal. He didn't come from DayClan, a cat had come in and give him to Pyremortality and since then it had just been him and her, but despite this they didn't seem to hangout much.
"Hey pest, where are you off to?" He asked with an uninterested expression, but his tone was friendly and playful despite the name calling. He was dripping wet and had likely been outside for sometime, but like her was headed back into the nursery.
When she hit Lostkit, she had bounced back and landed on her rump. Rising to her paws, she turned to look at her rump and found when she saw that it was covered in wet, sticky mud. She let out a groan at the thought of having to wash off all that mud. She turned back to Lostkit, her eyes round with apology. "I-Im sorry" she mewed in a small voice, barely audible against the light pattering of rain. "I was just going back to the nursery. I didnt mean to bump into you." She lowered her ears and tucked her tail between her legs. She looked utterly pathetic and helpless.
Lostkit's expression resentfully softened, his burning blue eyes turned to the horizon to avoid her dorky stare, "Yeah, well. Whatever," He said sharply before more gently adding, "Just be more careful, would you?" He turned back to face her, this time recomposing himself to not appear so fierce, but not exactly happy either. If the kits the nursery got the idea he was actually friendly they would want to hangout with him all the time, he was looking forward to escape all of that when he would become an apprentice. "What's wrong with you anyways, you're completely covered in mud?"
His tail wagged slowly, maybe he shouldn't be so harsh, he was getting mad that she was acting like a baby when she really was one. He was a lot older than her and even if they were close in age there were plenty of things he could do and knew that she couldn't do or know yet.
"T-this is my first time out of the nursery" she explained, her ears and tail still lowered. "I wish it were a little nicer out. I would love to have a look around the camp but...well, as you can see, it's all muddy. M-maybe you could show me around sometime. It would help having someone who already knew the camp show me where everything was."
"Are you serious, how much nicer to have to be today?" Lostkit asked with a groan as he rubbed his paws down his eyelids before sighing and taking a look at Eveningkit's cute kitten eye expression and the way her adorable accent came stuttering out past her lips and the stupid way she looked up at him. He scoffed, "Listen angel eyes, I'm not going to show you around camp cause I have important things to do like training for competitive moss ball leagues next moon and working up some muscle, I'm not gonna focus on whatev-"
"So over there is Airheadstar's den. She's our leader, dreams a lot, not sleeping, but unfortunately while she's awake. She's a cool leader, let's us do whatever, let's anyone do whatever I guess, which is kind of the problem," Lostkit described as he sat down next to Eveningkit only a few moments after saying he wouldn't show Eveningkit around. It was still muddy so he had found a good place by the ruins and helped lift Eveningkit up onto the top ruins to get a better view of everyone in camp.
She thought Lostkit was out of his mind to think today was considered a nice day but she didnt argue. In fact, she found it kind of amusing that he said he didnt want to show her around camp but ended up showing her anyway. As he led her passed the leader's den and told her about it, she began to relax. She hardly noticed the light thunder anymore. Though, what kind of name was Airheadstar? She thought her mom had mentioned another name when telling her about their leader. She couldnt remember the name she used but she said that their leader was an incredible cat. How could they be talking about the same cat? Lostkit's description was way different than her mother's. She was actually surprised Lostkit helped her up on one of the ruins to sit beside him. When she took a seat beside him, she scanned the camp. "I didnt know the camp was so big..." she breathed, her southern voice barely more than a whisper.
"Yeah, well you'll get bored of it real fast by the time you're ready to be an apprentice especially if you don't sneak out much like I do. I only left camp twice and honestly it wasn't far enough. The moment I'm an apprentice I'm running as far from this place as I can. And then walking back, but y'know, I just want to finally stretch my legs and run non stop is all I'm saying," Lostkit explained.
