Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Hypnotictrance lay dozing near the fresh kill pile, eyes fluttering on the brink of consciousness, it was a fairly normal state to find the thin tom in. In the eyes of many he seemed lazy, his constant tiredness that is but there was so much more to him than just that if you could only break through and get to know him. As his head lulled up and down, the suns Ray's warming his pelt he had not a worry in the world, his mind clear of any duties he should probably be doing as for now he was content to just sleep.
"Are you always like this?" the silver tom asked as he looked down upon the sleeping Hypnotictrance, blocking the sunlight. With a paw, Viperstream gently prodded him. "You know you've got stuff to do,' he mentioned before doing what he came to do - get some food. Picking out a plump bird from the fresh-kill pile, he made his way past the mass that was laying on the ground. With a final prod from his back paw, he said, "Gotta wake up, my friend. Things to do, things to do."
Hypnotictrance groaned and lifted his head, drowsy eyes beginning to focus on Viperstream as he prodded him for a second time. "Perhaps I am, always like this I mean." He sat up, stretching his legs one at a time. "There is always so much to do, always so much when I could be sleeping." He looked at the other tom. "What are you doing after that? After you eat?" He stood as he spoke, following Viperstream with a few steps.
Viperstream scoffed at his response. "You can sleep when you're dead," he said jokingly before laying down and taking a bite of his chosen prey. He chewed thoughtful. mulling over his options. If he recalled, there wasn't much he had to do, if anything. "Hmm..that is a good question. I don't know what I'm going to do after I eat." A slight grin crept upon his face at a thought. "You actually gave an idea. A nap sounds like a good idea after this." He raised a brow. "I'm kidding, but why do you ask?"
"Well, it seems I haven't been given any of these oh so important tasks you speak of, and you seem so against letting me sleep so how about we hunt?" He sat down beside the tom, running his paw over his ears as he waited for an answer. Viperstream woke him, so it only seemed fair the warrior accompany him.
He let out a satisfied sigh after swallowing another bite. That sure was filling. Sliding the carcass to the side he lay on his side and closed his eyes . "That sounds like a good idea. BUT it's going to be a little bit before I'm chasing anything." He opened one eye briefly to see the Hypnotictrance's reaction. "I'm going to take a quick power nap and I'll be ready to go in like...20 minutes?"
He let out a sigh and rolled his eyes, he could still be napping himself if not for this annoying fur ball. "I'll be back to get you in 10 minutes, that's about all the time I got before you showed up and ruined my rest." His voice was serious but the smile on his face let Viperstream know that he was only making fun, he lifted a paw and gave a gentle poke to the toms forehead.
"Heh, that's fair," he responded as he bat away the tom's paw, with a slight smile. "10 minutes is all I need anyways." Closing his eye and slowing his breathing, he fell into restful state. However he wasn't fully asleep. He could still hear the ambient sound around him - the birds, the breeze that wove through the trees, everything. And somehow that was further relaxing to him. For that brief moment of time, he was in bliss.
Wake up time.
Viperstream's eyes fluttered open but not fully. At this time of day, the sun had shifted ever so slightly and one of its stray rays was beating down on him. Shifting upright, he looked around the clearing. He felt re-energized and ready to go. 10 minutes is all I need. "Ooooh, Hypnotictranceeee, I'm ready to gooo," he said in a sing-songy voice.
Hypnotictrance hadn't gone far, only a few tail lengths away he was curled up beside Crackedclue and Puzzlemask, deep in conversation with the odd twins. His head turned as his name was called and he stood, nodding farewell to the white Tom's before approaching Viperstream with a sleepy smile. "How was your nap, sunshine?"
He rose to his paws, stretching. "Re-energizing. Very re-energizing. I feel like I can take a fox head on," he responded with a smile. Ending his stretch with a slight shake, he sat down. "So where to now, Hypnotictrance?"
The older tom looked around camp with a lazy smile, his eyes settling on the entrance at last. "Care to join me for a bird hunt?" Hypnotictrance enjoyed hunting birds, they were challenging unlike the creatures that lived on the ground like them, bird hunting had become a sort of hobby of his and the fact that the clan would be fed was simply a bonus. "Unless you don't think you could catch one."
Viperstream let out a laugh as he followed the tom's eyes to the entrance, amused "You must not know who I am," he said with a smirk. "I'll go along with you, not because I fell for the bait, but to show you how to really catch a bird." He wasn't too old but he could definitely feel his age catching up to him. I guess this will be a good gauge of where I'm at physically, he reasoned with himself.
