Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Damn it. Foxbane had caught him there. He hated to be so easily goaded into anything at all, but if there was one thing the ex-Priestess was good at, it was manipulating, even on a celestial level, apparently. She knew him too well, at least to the effect of knowing exactly how to push his buttons. Oooh, he'd have to really try to get her killed later. Maybe ask Sydney to make a casual attempt and mess with the punishment he'd set just for this. She'd already dodged the expected flaming tree, and there was only so much else he wasn't too lazy to do.
But, that was only half the point of today. For once, he was searching for a SunClan cat. And in particular, he was searching for a certain new initiate that Foxbane had brought in. From MoonClan, nonetheless. He'd already had plans to meet the tom eventually, but the fox-furred feline made him actually seek him out, purely for the fact of needing to prove he could turn this cat to him. He knew he was playing into her paws, but he just couldn't help it. Ugh. He really would murder her for this, and he hoped she enjoyed that new singed tip on her tail.
Roble sneezed himself out of a very nice dream. Believe it or not, adjusting from a nocturnal lifestyle to dinural one had been the biggest hurdle he'd have to leap in SunClan so far. Most other cats in his situation would probably struggle with the rampant gossip that plagued the Clan, but honestly, Roble could care less what other cats thought of him so long as he could spend the afternoon with Tinypaw. Hadn't happened yet, though, but it was coming, he could feel it.
Still laying on his side, the brown-and-white tom stretched out his legs as far as he could reach, trying and failing to get comfortable. He could see the sunlight filtering in through the den's entryway and just knew he was late to be somewhere. The SunClan cats hated his - in their opinion - 'frequent naps.' He'd been called out on it more than once. Yawning, the large tom arched his back and got to his feet, then exited the den. His eyes narrowed against the bright sunlight, then padded over to the fresh-kill pile, hoping to grab a quick bite to eat before he figured out where he was missed. Roble was sure it wouldn't take long for someone to pull him away to take some lesson or clean out someone's nest. He just hoped whatever it was wasn't another lesson on the Sun God. He'd heard enough of that guy to last a lifetime.
"HEY YOU!" The voice literally boomed through camp, such that each and every SunClan cat stopped to stare. After all, why wouldn't they? When you literal god walked into camp, and then subsequently singled out the newest initiate from MoonClan with a point of his paw, that really brought in attention. It was like the world had frozen in a moment, and only the eyes of cats worked anymore, quickly flitting between Roble and the deity who'd just showed up.
The, Sun God, as usual, was much too big for any cat. He was a massive gold shaded Maine Coon with burning amber eyes, and a presence that brought a hum to the earth. Fire wreathed through his pelt, and he was overall just awesome. If he said so himself.
But, back to the point! He was going to meet his new bestest friend in the world, and his victimfeline companion just so happened to be Roble! How lucky of him! "Yes, you, Robby boy! The time to eat is later, now come with me, we're off to adventures!"
"Uhhhh... what the hell...?" Roble dropped the mouse in his jaws and left his mouth slightly agape. He couldn't believe his eyes. The MoonClan expatriate was a fairly large tom cat, but he didn't even compare to this strange new cat, who was also wearing fire? How was that even possible? That tom's voice carried through the camp like a roaring thunder and Roble observed the cats of SunClan - many of which were enjoying their own mid-day naps, those hypocrites - flail around and turn their attention to the Sun God.
Bloodyrondo was the first to made a move. The Priest Promised materialized almost out of thin air and dramatically bowed to the Sun God. It looked to Roble like the ginger tom was almost kissing the other cat's toes but he couldn't be so sure. He hoped he wasn't, "Sun God, you must reconsider taking that Initiate with you on your quest," Bloodyrondo said, his tail high in the air but his ears pinned back, "He hasn't learned much at all of your lessons; his heart is not open to you. Yet. We are working with him, but he is resistant..."
The ginger tom continued with more rambling, but Roble sort of blocked it out and approached casually. This foreign cat had called him out after all. He felt the air get heavier, more electric, even, as he got closer this ethereal monster of a tom. He didn't want to believe it. Bloodyrondo had said the answer already, but it didn't stop Roble from asking, "Who are you?"
Roble felt the Priest Promised's eyes burn into his pelt as the ginger tom reached up and forced Roble's head down into something of a bow, then sharply said, "See, the heathen doesn't know respect."
The deity waved his paw in a shooing motion to Bloodyrondo. "Yes, yes, I know, Crimsy." He stated, barely even seeming to pay attention to the Priest Promised in favor of this initiate. "You can let him up now, it's fine. His neck looks like it might snap, and we just can't have that."
And of course, he then had to flash the brightest smile he could, and it really was vibrant, even his white fangs seemed to glow in a way that was ethereal. Which, of course, was all very strange indeed. But he was magnificent, after all, he couldn't blame Roble for his shock. "Well, Rubble-rots-a-lot, to answer your question, I'm SunClan's deity. Most call me the Sun God, but I'm not exactly picky, so feel free to choose something more to your preference." He finally did glance at Bloodyrondo. "Now, I'm going to be taking this tom with me. Surely that's not an issue, right? Best way to teach is from experience anyway, is it not?"
Bloodyrondo released his grip on Roble's head immediately and the ex MoonClan tom rose back to his full height. He was nowhere near as large as the Sun God but he was a good head or two taller than the Priest Promised. He cast a shadow on Bloodyrondo who looked peeved about it but didn't move right away: the ginger tom was too preoccupied with his deity's flashy smile, "Do as you wish, Sun God. If he gives you problems do not hesitate to summon me. You shouldn't have to get your paws dirty on his behalf."
With that, the ginger tom shot Roble a nasty glare and backed away to give the Sun God and Roble some space. He still was well within earshot, though, not about to miss out on overhearing this conversation.
Now that that pesky Priest Promised not literally in-between them, Roble was finally able to respond to this so-called Sun God. It was impossible to deny the powerful aura that surrounded him and the expression on Roble's face reflected equal parts shock and awe. He'd never once seen Selene before so he didn't really know what a God would look like, but he did have ideas on how a God aught to act, and this one seemed a little too... chummy, "Crimsy? Rubble-rots-a-lot? I see you have a penchant for nicknames. It's only fair for me to give you one, too, Sunshine." He gave the Sun God a very awkward smile, "Are you sure you really want to take me with you? I'm confident your follower over there would give you his first, second and third born to take my place."
The Sun God, with his ability to read minds, would know with certainty that that is exactly what Bloodyrondo would have done.
