Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Her breaths were heavy and were soon to turn ragged. She had been running for only ten minutes, but she had run from the ruins of SunClan into NightClan and from there she lost track. At some point the fear of being chased and eaten had washed away by the rhythmic pounding of her paws on grass and the raspy breathes she gathered together to keep her body moving. The fox was hungry and it pursued her out of pure desperate nature. As such she was purely in survival mode looking for every opportunity to lose the beast. There were points where she could feel the heat of its breath on her back and there were moments she could hear it struggling to catch up. It was hard to tell if she was in the lead or if her end was near. When she saw a tall slope up ahead she took it hoping that the fox would give up on her, but instead its paws thundered behind hers. Helplessly she stared ahead at the large pond in front of her. She didn't know if she could swim, but took her chances, diving into the water. Drowning seemed like a better way to go than being eaten alive.
Her paws paddled across the water, at first naturally, but it didn't take long for her to struggle to find a pace that kept her head above water. However the fox didn't follow her and through her struggle she was getting closer to shore, but only became weaker in her efforts. Arcticpaw's vision blurred as her paws slowed and her will to fight slowly shut down. On the other side she could see a cat standing there, she was so close to them, but she couldn't even feel her paws anymore to know if she was moving anymore, which she wasn't. Arcticpaw whispered out the word help, uncertain if the cat had heard her. Her vision blurred again and this time didn't come back as she slumped as the water consumed her.
Twig had been exploring MoonClan's territory every night since Leviathan had finally brought them there. To their new home. Twig had immediately tried to fit in with the other apprentices, though they were less than welcoming. He supposed he couldn't blame then, he was quite a stranger, and his group had come in and turned everything upside down. Leviathan promised him that he would give Twig a name like the other apprentices if it would make him feel better, though the leader saw no sense in it. Still, Twig was waiting patiently for the day.
The young tabby tom found himself nearing the edge of a pond, sitting down to look at Selene reflecting on the water, nearly full. He felt himself suddenly feel warm all over, as if she was shining her light directly on him. Until the moment was broken when there was a splash. Twig jumped to his paws, ears pricked and golden eyes straining to see the other apprentice as she swam across the water. The closer she got, the weaker Twig could see her becoming. She opened her mouth, but no sound came out. And then she vanished beneath the surface.
Twig let out a small, panicked yowl before he dived in. Was it one of their own? He couldn't be sure. He hadn't been able to spend enough time with any of the clan cats to find out. He paddled with strong legs to where she had disappeared. Catching his breath, Twig dived beneath the surface, his eyes almost glowing beneath the murky water. Selene's light still shown down, silver breaking through in tendrils of light. He saw her sinking. With a powerful hind kick, Twig propelled himself down and grabbed her scruff with his jaws. He kicked off the muddy ground at the bottom with his hind legs.
When they broke the surface, he took a ragged breath through her fur and began swimming toward the shore.
Arcticpaw was on the smaller side for an apprentice making it easier for Twig to carry her through the water. She coughed a few times, but without being on shore to lie properly it was hard to spit up the water. She had creamy white fur with peach strands of fur running along her and fuzz at the tips of her ears. Her eyes opened slightly watching him before closing again peacefully until she remembered the position she was in. She had been chased, she had nearly drowned, and now she was feeling tugged into sleep, if she closed her eyes now she might never wake up. She opened her green eyes, they seemed large on her, but only because her eyes seemed more attentive, never lazily relaxing. She coughed up more water and although she was tired began helping him paddle to shore the best she could. However with no prior ability to swim she knew that without this tom she wouldn't be able to make it to the shore.
