Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Why, why, why? Why did they have to be so stupid? Why did she have to be so stupid? The questions ran through her head, making it ache. Her head had been aching a lot. She just felt so—so angry! She couldn’t believe it. She could feel the rage stirring inside her. They were so stupid! She curled into herself, trying to hide deeper in her nest. Peachpaw had barely left the apprentice’s den, barely turned over. For the last day she had done nothing but stare and think and wallow in rage. And she hated it. She hated the apprentices for going on the adventure, she hated Coalkit for dying, she hated Blackberrypaw for giving them the idea, and she hated herself for doing absolutely nothing. She hated herself for trying to lead—for being so for the cursed adventure.
She didn’t notice her claws digging into the ground, she didn’t notice her tics. She didn’t notice anything. The itching she felt was just a numb feeling in her muscles now, so when she moved her made a sound she didn’t even register it. She didn’t notice the sun slowly cross the sky, nor did she notice her growling stomach.
Blackberrypaw slipped into the den, watching his sister with a mouse dangling from his jaws. He knew that he had done this to her. It was his fault that Coalkit had died and that they were all stuck in this mess. He didn't care that they were confined to camp for a moon, or that they had ten times the duties as before. He deserved it. The others? Well, it wasn't their fault, even though they wouldn't let him take the blame. He padded over to Peachpaw and laid down beside her, setting down the mouse that he had brought for her to eat, even though she always turned it away. He pressed into her back, feeling how tense her muscles were.
