Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Glowstar, Wanderingwight, and Leucisticcrow had just left on dawn patrol and not twenty minutes later did trouble come walking through DayClan's entry.
"Wow, have you ever seen a more beautiful clan to worship two perfect deities like us?"
Standing at DayClan's entrance were the holy abominations, the servants of the Sun God, Bluejay and Pandora. Last DayClan had seen of them they had been gifted supernatural powers and had mercilessly struck both DayClan and SunClan down in flames and shadows. Now it seemed the Sun Gods pets had returned for a second round, this time targeting solely DayClan. This time there was no going to SunClan for help. Not after a DayClan patrol found two members of DayClan unconscious on SunClan's land and were only given excuses as to how they got there.
Sweetiepeach couldn't keep her fur flat staring at Bluejay and Pandora, "Why would we worship you after you burned down our home and attacked our clanmates just a few moons ago?"
"Because we can burn down your home and attack your clan mates, you'll be lucky if kneeling to us and kissing our paws is all we demand," Bluejay smiled cruelly.
Windchaser heard voices outside the nursery and emerged into the camp to see the two most hated cats to Dayclan. Even more hated than Sunclan. She marched up to Pandora and Bluejay, green fire blazing in her eyes. "What are the two of you doing here? You are not welcomed in Dayclan! Leave or we will have no choice but to remove you by force!" She flexed her claws. She knew these cats had powers and they were no match against them but Windchaser had always been a firm believer in going down fighting.
Buttercup had been enjoying a meal with the other apprentices when Pandora and Bluejay had walked into camp. The ginger and white tabby remembered what they had done to Dayclan but she also couldnt forget when she had first met Pandora. Buttercup was only a kit and Pandora had been an apprentice. She had thought the two of them had become friends until Pandora turned on them and now they were here to begin more trouble. Buttercup rose to her paws and looked at Pandora and then her mother. She hoped Pandora wouldn't strike down her mother. Windchaser had already been through so much recently.
"We're Glowstar's daughters, you've no right to say where we can or cannot be." Pandora couldn't help but laugh in the face of the Immortal Council member. The earth beneath her paws was already scorched black, cracking and overheated. The she-cat, ordinarily, wasn't especially cruel. But with an influence like Bluejay, and a bone to pick with the deity who'd just raised her up to the status of an immortal, things suddenly were so, so different. She no longer had to indulge in mortal concepts. Not to mention she was riding on the feel of the immense power she'd been presented with, far stronger than even their apocalyptic event, it seemed, like she could pull from and endless well at will.
She pulled up one she was familiar with with the barest hint of conscious effort, the emotions of the clan calling to her, and it was like she could see farther than just their physical forms. The cinnamon-swirled auburn feline could pinpoint each cat, seen or unseen, and know exactly what they felt, all the underlying feelings, though at least for the moment, she wasn't prying into their thoughts themselves. Buttercup called to her, and the iridescent green of her gaze swirled and sparkled like dew covered grasses in the breeze. "Why don't you just bow now? Who are you to deny your newfound deities?" She had never tried to force a cat's will before, that was more to the experience of her younger sister, but even so, the idea came naturally, and power rose to meet her.
Bow. It was a command thrown not specifically to the animal whisperer apprentice, but to the rest of the cats of the clan at random, some affected, some not. At a glance, you could see Laughingpaw, Spring, Mirra, Pyremortality, and more, leaning down into bows that they clearly were trying to fight, but could do nothing to prevent. They were powerless to stop it.
"You wronged Dayclan! You are not welcomed here!" Windchaser growled, her fur bristling. "I will not bow to you! You are not/i] creatures worth worshiping!" After the biting comment, the ginger warrior could feel her knees beginning to buckle. What's happening? she wondered with panic. She was bowing despite how much she fought it. "You are fools to force any to bow to you! No matter how hard the wind blows, the mountains cannot bow to it" she growled. They may be able to force their bodies to bow but they could never force their spirits.
Buttercup felt her body bowing uncontrollably. She met Pandora's gaze and almost begged her not to do this as she was lowered to the ground.
"I wronged DayClan? No, no, no, no. I didn't get a choice with DayClan." Pandora couldn't keep the bitterness out of her voice, the anger that surged through her manifesting in fire that wreathed around her frame, licking out at the air with frenzied fervor. "The Sun God made me, as a kit, bear the wrongs of my parents, used me, stripped me of my autonomy, all to teach my mothers a lesson. I almost killed my own brother! You know nothing. NOTHING!" She didn't regret working with Bluejay, or even killing members of the two clans. But she would never forgive the Sun God for taking away her choice in the matter in the name of destiny, of making her nearly kill Duskslayer because she couldn't even control her own paws.
"You're lucky to have us, and not him. Take your pick." She caught Buttercup's begging gaze, and all at once, the spell broke, like shattering glass they were released. She shouldn't be taking out her anger on them, and sinking to the level of her creator. Not that she felt particularly merciful today.
Windchaser was taken by surprise by the anger boiling inside Pandora. No cat should have that much power. It was far too dangerous. Windchaser felt the spell break and she was able to stand again. The ginger immortal council member felt bad for the cat that had to hold so much power and be led astray by the very being that gave her the power at such a young age. She didn't get to be a regular kit or apprentice like she should have been. "You have a choice now" Windchaser mewed softly.
Buttercup felt instant relief when Pandora released them of the spell. She gave Pandora a small smile with furrowed brows, grateful that the auburn feline decided on mercy rather than force.
"Wow this is hilarious," Bluejay laughed watching as the cats bowed before them, but nudged Pandora, "But c'mon, where's the challenge?" She watched as her sister let them up and nuzzled her sister comfortingly, "She's right y'know, we're going to have to teach them obedience from the ground up. Sun God was right about one thing, a demonstration is needed." She smirked as she cracked her neck twice.
Bluejay swept her claws across open air, but from it a vortex opened and dropping in was a black inky sludge. The vortex closed and from the black pile of goo on the ground an eyeball floated to the surface and then another. The inky being grew into the size of a cat and slowly was taking the morphed form of a cat. "Hmm. Who to corrupt?" Bluejay asked, a smile playing at her lips as she tapped a claw over her chin. Her gaze flew to Sweetiepeach who now was getting up from being forced to bow before them and for a moment was considerate until she saw Lilacpaw. She was sitting upright the whole time defiantly glaring them down, she looked fun. She gestured to Lilacpaw with her paw and in moments the inky creature slid into liquid along the floor going straight towards Lilacpaw. Lilacpaw let out a gasp and tried to out run it, but it had already gotten too close. Its inky body leaned up right, a massive jaw forming, ready to consume the apprentice whole.
"Eh," Bluejay shrugged, "That works too, now then."
The inky substance washed over Windchaser darkening her fur for just a moment before absorbing inside of her revealing her bright pelt once more. Lilacpaw had fallen onto her back and watched as the darkness sank inside of her mom, she felt like her heart stopped, but her body kept moving as the apprentice slowly walked over too Windchaser, "Momma?" She whispered with uncertainty.
"How do you feel immortal council member? Freer? If so what do you think we should do to DayClan? How should they serve us?" Bluejay smirked before also adding, "Also at some point all of you need to say your names, I don't even know your name. I don't know maybe we can do like a roll call thing."
Azura did not understand how she felt upon seeing the duo. A deep part of her knew to run away, resist them, but she knew it running would brand her a coward. Not that it really mattered with the apocalypse just sitting here in their camp, but she had a debt to pay to the clan. The she-cat remained silent as they entered and put on their little display of power. She did not feel the urge to bow like Buttercup, but still burned with a tangible rage that they took away their choice. She rose to her paws with the poise of a cat from the deceased Absum Lux. Free. A loose cannon. It had been a long time since she drew from that part of herself, but the timing seemed appropriate. "Cool. Beating up cats who have no chance of winning." She flicked her ears and took a few steps forward in blatant defiance. " Very godly of you guys."
Windchaser's gaze darkened and her pupils grew large, a cruel smirk curled at her lips. Her cold gaze landed on her daughter. "Mother?" She repeated with a snort. "I refuse to acknowledge such an incompetent numbskull as my daughter." She whisked her tail in Lilacpaw's face before moving forward with confidence. "I do feel freer thanks to your gift." She bowed to Pandora and Bluejay before turning to address the whole clan. "Its time for a change. Starclan has abandoned us. Most of us dont even believe in them anymore! How can put our trust and our lives into the paws of a bunch of ghosts? What use are pur ancestors to us? They're dead! We need to evolve, move forward, and use those brains we were given. It only makes sense to put our trust in a diety -or a pair of dieties- we can actually see! The universe has given us these...heroes! These magnificent and powerful beings to lead us! We should worship them! I say this calls for a feast! Let's give these...gods our offerings!"
(Just so you know, this was hard for me to write because this is so uncharacteristic of any of my characters let alone Windchaser XD)
Poppyheart had been dozing in the nursery while all this was going down. She wasn't confirmed pregnant, of course: It was much too early. The den was just mostly vacant so she settled right into it ahead of time. She even helped with the motherless kits, so it wasn't like she was being totally useless, although some other members of DayClan may think otherwise. She had spent most of her time since her arrival decorating the nursery with all kinds of flowers and sweet-smelling herbs to remind her of home. It was a pleasant place to be but very cluttered these days.
She had managed to sleep through the beginning of the conflict but her bondi blue eyes snapped open when she heard a cat (Windchaser) yowl. She put her paws over her ears, brushing a feather she had just recently acquired there, and groaned. She was too alert now to fall back asleep. The cream-and-ginger she-cat stretched to her paws with a yawn and padded out of the den to figure out just who ruined her nap so she could put them on her list. Poppyheart blinked her eyes a few times as they adjusted to the light but as far as she could tell it was just pure chaos. One cat was writhing on the ground, most everyone else was groveling, there were scorch marks on the ground and two strange cats she had never seen before sitting there smirking about it.
"Ummm... Fuzzyheart? Peachblush?" She said loudly, trying to locate either one of the two toms. Poppyheart knew she had been seen by the new cats but wasn't concerned about it yet. She hadn't been in the Clan more than a week and it was already so different from SummerClan that little would surprise her at this rate, "Is this normal for DayClan?!"
"About as normal as anything can get in this place." Fia Cendrillon answered Poppyheart for the toms she seemed to be looking for. If anything, the Immortal Council member looked curious, rather than scared. Then again... these two were her aunts. Why shouldn't she find it kinda cool that her relatives were literally deities? "I for one accept my young aunts as our new overlords. So long as you teach me those fire or darkness tricks. Because it's not fair that you get to be deities, and I don't get any superpowers." The light and shadow she-cat tilted her head. "Oh, and maybe release Windchaser, please? Kinda rude to possess someone without asking, and I'd rather not have to put 'murders relatives' on my list of accomplishments, even if they're supernatural."
"What? This is outrageous!" Buttercup spoke out, rising to her paws in a defiant stance. "This is cruel! Let my mother go! You cant force us to follow you by corrupting us!"
"Isn't it, Azura?" Bluejay purred, she stalked towards the feline, her disturbing gaze resting tauntingly at Azura, "You know nothing about me, but I know sooo much about you. Moms talked you up quite a bit, I even remember looking up to you. I must have fallen short of her expectations because there's gotta be a reason you never heard my name until the apocalypse." She said, Azura's name razor sharp against her tongue, her words had a way of cutting sharply in the air, it was like shattered glass. Her voice made everyone look in her direction for all the wrong reasons.
Lilacpaw's lily green gaze watered, what had Bluejay done? What had she done? Bluejay had aimed for her and now her mom took the hit. Like a kitten she found herself paw at Windchaser for a moment as though that would somehow snap Windchaser back to herself. Her gaze turned cold as she snarled looking back at Bluejay, "Change her back!"
Bluejay covered one side of her ear as Lilacpaw, Buttercuppaw and Fia demanded Windchaser be let go, "Oh my gosh fine, drama queens," Bluejay scoffed. She stomped her paw as Windchaser's shadow began to leak out from under her and over to Bluejay as the darkness was sucked back into her body and out of Windchasers. Bluejay smirked, "Windchaser, that was such a lovely idea! Yes, let's and let's also not forget that I will correct you if you step out of line again. Your kiddos couldn't last one moment without you, couldn't imagine what would happen if I needed to reeducate you for mmm. A day, a week, moons?" She laughed cruelly before abruptly stopping and glaring at the crowd, "Go assemble a feast and or any offerings for my sister and I. NOW."
Fuzzyheart slowly walked over to Poppyheart as he quickly came by her side, "hey this looks a bit wild Poppyheart maybe we should um... Retire back to the nursery and I'll keep guard?" He offered.
Windchaser felt the shadow drain from her body, taking most of her energy. She collapsed on her side, her pupils regulating. "Wha-what?" She mumbled in confusion. Her head was throbbing, now, and her vision blurred for a moment before regaining focus.
"Interesting..." Poppyheart replied to Fia. She hadn't spoken to this she-cat much since she had arrived but she had to respect her calm demeanor. This really must be common for DayClan; the only cats who seemed to be freaking out were the younger ones. The SummerClan she-cat was about to reply when the Immoral Council member addressed the two goddesses instead. She cocked her head while she listened, looking awfully cute, but not fearful. Poppyheart had missed all of the cool magic tricks but found the idea of a living cat being a God was fascinating. She was born and raised to believe in StarClan with very little exposure to other religions. This was all very new to her.
She turned her big blue eyes to Fuzzyheart as he approached, making sure to keep her head ever so cocked to the side.
"This is the most exciting thing to happen since I arrived. At least let me watch!" Poppyheart begged, taking a step closer to him and away from the nursery. She had a crush on him same as she had a crush on Ratstar. She couldn't quite pin down why but she just thought he was so cute. She wasn't going after Peachblush's man or anything, but a little harmless flirting never hurt anyone, "Besides, you're so strong, you'll protect me, no problem, right?"
She turned her gaze back to Bluejay and Pandora, waiting to see what would happen next.
The bitterness in Bleujay's words shocked her. She did not know that she had something personal against her, but it did not change how Azura assessed the whole situation. She refused to bow these cats. They are what she ran from in Absum Lux. She was stronger now, and did not desire to run again. "Well, she talks about me all the time 'cause I've actually done something with my life. You're so lazy you can't even catch your own prey, and you can do that." She gestured to Windchaser with her tail. "Just go make the prey jump into your claws! Or is that too much work?"

"It's okay. She looks okay." It didn't take Goldenphantom long to be at the collapsed Immortal Council member's side, pressing her paw gently against her head. It wasn't long ago that Bluejay and Pandora stirred up trouble, but she was more concerned about Lilacpaw than the two. Unconsciously, she wrapped her tail around the apprentice.
Aster gently supported Spring as she regained her balance.
Buttercuppaw ran to Windchaser, pulling up beside her old friend, Goldenphantom. Concern lit inside her turquoise eyes.
"Its okay, babies. I'm okay" Windchaser murmured to Buttercuppaw and Lilacpaw. She gave Goldenphantom a grateful look. The ginger and white warrior rose to her paws, shaking out her fur, and feeling dizzy and sick to her stomach.
