Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Rowan had been taken captive a while back now. While he didn't care so much about being a supposed prisoner of this clan, he did appreciate that they'd at least cared for his sickly brother. They'd leave once he was healthy again. Eyeing the guard pacing outside his den and the one beside the entrance to the prison positively bored, he rolled his eyes. Clearly, nothing fun happened around here if even the guards weren't on their game. Maybe..maybe he'd escape just for fun. But would that take treatment away from his brother? It was the only thought that kept him from trying. Nonetheless, his eyes still looked around, searching for weak points and planning them exit of this boring place.
He hadn't expected to be on guard duty today, it wasn't a job he was usually assigned, but Harlow was honored to be given the position. He paced back and forth in front of the den, carefully checking for any escaping cats or suspicious elements, sniffing everything that came within a few tail-lengths of the den. One of the warriors had returned from a hunt and shaken his pelt, scattering tiny pine needles and sticks all around him, including near the den. Harlow's eyes widened as he lunged to start gathering them up. "Can't let any of them get their paws on this!" he mumbled.
Rowan laughed as he watched this strange cat pick up pine needles. Really? What would they want with them? They didn't even make their nests more comfortable. Foolish cat, if he wanted to escape he'd do it later. When he wasn't so bored and his brother so sickly. What would be the point now when Birch wasn't yet ready, the tom would only become sick again and they'd be back at square one.
Northpaw stood beside her mentor, having decided she had nothing better to do today, he was on guard duty and so they wouldnt be training. Her eyes were facing the ground, but the moment Harlow darted away she jerked her head up, blind eyes wide. "What are you doing?" She asked, scenting the air for any clues. She turned toward the one known as Rowan and huffed, he was a prisoner sure but at least he could see what she couldn't. "Hey, what is he doing?"
"I'm trying to clean all this up! We don't want him using it to escape. I don't trust the prisoners," he told her lowly, shooting Rowan a shifty look. He'd been a prisoner before, he knew they were all looking for a chance to run. "Keep an eye on that one, Northpaw."
(Harlow was assigned my blind apprentice in the Feb ceremonies lol)
Northpaw titled her head at her mentors response, escape... with pine needles? How would the other tom even manage that, pine needles weren't exactly something that could be used as a weapon. "Bu--" her words were cut off as Harlow told her to keep an eye on the prisoner, her ears flattened out of habit and she sighed. "Right, I'll keep a super watchful eye on him, nothing to worry about here." She replied sarcastically, did he forget she was blind?
Her face turned toward Rowan once more and she moved closer to him, her sense of smell and hearing were good enough she would at least be able to tell if he were trying to do anything weird, maybe she shouldn't have spoken to Harlow that way, he was one of the better in the clan; it was too late to take it back now. "So your name is Rowan?"
"Don't wear it out, doll face." Rowan rolled his eyes, even he could tell this kit wasn't gonna be much help guarding them. Though, she didn't seem more entertaining than the stuck up currently picking up pine needles. That cat looked strung higher than a cat on catnip, not that he knew that that was like or anything. Rolling onto his back and enjoying the show, he figured he'd at least have some fun with this.
"That sounds objectifying," Cadet Zion retorted to Rowan.
The white tom had walked over to see what they were talking about. One thing he learned is that you could be pretty unapologetic as a prisoner because no one had any expectations of how you should act. This was pretty new as Regime cats always had expectations, especially those who were son of ex commanders, not that WinterClan knew that about him.
"I'm Cadet Zion, not that anyone asked," He said. It was hard to tell his expression, he had moppy long bangs across his eyes making it hard to see his emerald green eyes beneath it all, "Nice to meet you." He had a boyish sounding voice, polite, yet attractively proper in the charming kind of a way.
Northpaw narrowed her eyes when Rowan called her doll face, it left a bad taste in her mouth but she refrained from commenting on it, instead turning toward the newest addition to the little group who proceeded to introduce himself. "Cadet? Oh your one of the apprentices from the Regime that was caught." She had heard from others what had happened and a smile spread across her lips. "I heard you started a snowball fight with Frostcloud." It took a bit of effort to keep from laughing at the thought, but she managed, though her grin did grow.
"Yeah I am," Cadet Zion excitedly, happy to be known, but blushed as soon as the comment about the snowball fight was made, he smiled bashfully rubbing his paw down the side of his neck "Well, someone had to deescalate the situation. I also did not know how high up in command Frostcloud was when I smacked her in the face with that snowball," He admitted sheepishly.
"Harlow." A deep voice interrupted everyone's conversation. Lionwhipser stepped forward, at his side a blinding white long haired tom, who erupted in a short fit of coughing. "He is back from his visit with Earlybloom." Lionwhisper announced, turning to look at the white prisoner, who offered a signature crooked smile.
"I'm back!" Birch sang cheerfully, confidence filled his voice despite coming out of a nasty cough fit. Though the rouge had gotten better in his time in Winterclan, a small, annoying cough still remained. The Witch and pupil of Winterclan said the cough would most likely remain longer as the long, cold nights didn't help his progress towards health. Birch followed willingly back into his prison, naturally floating to his brother's side "You missed me," He scoffed, smiling brightly at his brother "I can see it in those pretty eyes of yours dear brother." He winked, teasing him lovingly before turning back to Lionwhipser
"Thank you Sunny for escorting me safely to my brother, I really appreciate all you do for us." His thanks was blatantly taunting and the nickname only added to the burn.
The Knight of Wise's expression grew stern as he stared at Birch with a look of annoyance before turning back to Harlow. "Let me know if they become too much of a bother." He spoke up calmly before turning on his heels and walked away.
Rowan practically leapt to his paws at the approach of his brother. A scowl on his face as he looked over the other tom, searching for any form of mistreatment. Though, he'd come to find that these cats acted more civilized than most he'd meet. It was..weird really. Though their whole group was weird. I mean really, worshiping gods? Who did that? With a roll of his eyes, the older tom stuck his tongue out at the retreating Knight. "How I wished I had a snowball to throw now." He mumbled his words, but knew those around him would hear him. Oh, he'd so throw it at that stuck up Knight.
