Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
For the first time on this journey, Levee was furious. His tail lashed to and fro, but his fur remained flat. The night was nearly pitch black in Selene’s absence. His followers were gathered around, sitting by piles of prey placed in a circle in which Levee stood in the center of by himself. The Silence seemed to stretch on for ages until the cardinal finally spoke. “Blitzen please join me in the circle” he spoke calmly, his tail slowed but didn’t stop moving as he beckoned his companion forward.
Visi sat next to his pile of prey. He had attempted to catch fish as it was a challenge to him and what better way to honor his beloved Goddess. Of course, he had made sure to catch a mouse just in case she didn't care for fish. Perhaps others saw it or not, but Visi was falling in love with Selene. All that he did was for her. Now he waited under the moonless sky, listening to his terrestrial leader. His blue eyes watched Blitzen, a tom he was not a fan of. The younger tom just rubbed him the wrong way.
Blitz was grinning as he approached the circle. The extremely large gray tom cat had to shoulder a couple cats aside, one of them being Visigoth, to make room for himself. He was covered in tiny scratches and had recently torn his left ear, not for the first time and probably not for the last, if he had any say. A few of the wounds were infected due to lack of medical care but it didn't dampen the tom's fire at all, "Levee, I am at you service," he said sarcastically, "What did I do to earn such praise?" It was no secret that he didn't really listen to anyone. He put up with Levee due to his connection to the Moon Goddess, but that was all.
Twig watched quietly, his head tilted to the side, though he said nothing. Oblivious as he was to the darker side of things that happened with Leviathan, he was not unaware of Blitzen’s inability to keep sarcasm out of his voice, or his lack of listening to Levee. Twig himself had caught a blackbird - he was shook to his core with pride at his catch. He had never the chance to learn any hunting skills before his mother died, but since he had been with Leviathan, he had watched the others carefully. He wanted them to forget how young he was compared to the rest.
Levee looked at Blitzen, his expression unreadable as he was careful to keep himself from clawing the flippant expression off the large cat's face. His expression softened, his eyes lighting u as the gray tom addressed him. Praise? He wanted praise? He would get it. "I have noticed your unwavering dedication to our cause, and the effort you put into following our laws and I thought It best to condone you for it" he purred, his words were sweet as he spoke. There was no mistaking the excitement in his eyes as he continued. "Though I wonder just how far you are willing to go for Selene" he mused allowed. "Would you offer her heart to her given the chance?"
"Of course." Blizten replied earnestly, leaning in close to Leviathan, his foul breath falling directly onto his leader's nose. His eyes were brimming with mischief as if he knew exactly where this was going. He knew how to read a room, specifically if fighting were to be involved, and was positively daring his leader to make the first blow,"Selene has had my heart for many, many moons, more than you have even seen, Levee. She is the love of my life after all." He took a step back and smirked but did not make any sudden movements.
"Is that so?" He practically cooed at the gray tom. His amber eyes were alive with excitement, and his tail trembled behind him in anticipation. He made no move to strike the tom, not even so much as tensed up. Trying to contain his excitement he fixed his follower with an even look. "If you love her as much as you say you do, then you wouldn't mind sharing with the rest of us, which qualities she values above all others."
"Strength and devotion, no? But I'm not her mouthpiece," Blitzen narrowed his eyes are Leviathan and showed of his teeth, "What are you getting at, Levee? Are you suggesting that I don't really know the Moon Goddess's lessons? I can guarantee you that you are mistaken."

"You think they're done with their claw measuring contest, yet?" The newly named Yuki-Oona whispered to Abaddon, who offered a smile in return. Both she-cats had brought their own offerings; Yuki was happy to bring in a mouse while Abaddon went above and beyond with a dove and a few bird eggs she swiped from a nest. Abby wasn't really sure what Levee had planned, and watched the pair bicker with an unflinching expression.
Levee regarded his follower carefully as he spoke, merely blinking when he answered incorrectly. "Loyalty and honestly" he corrected with a warm purr. This would be a valuable teaching moment for the others as well. "I know you know her teaching well enough, and to make up for your mistake do you promise to give your self up completely to Selene from now so that you never make this mistake again?"
"Loyalty and honesty aren't going to fill your stomach, but I get it, I get it," Blitzen agreed dismissively. He wasn't really listening to Leviathan at this point. He had only tolerated the black and white tom so far thanks to the small miracles he performed that were proof of Selene's existence. He didn't care much for him as a leader and thus was not the greatest follower. Yeah, sure, he picked fights over stupid things, but he was bored and valued a good brawl. Back in his pure rogue days it was the best way to guarantee his own survival and establish a pecking order. This change of pace was fun but he didn't take it seriously, "Of course I will give myself up to Selene."

"Do you truly intend to test his loyalty, Leviathan? Especially considering our numbers are so small." Abaddon looked around at their small gathering. It was clear to her what Levee had planned, not that she had any intention of stopping it.
Leviathan's ear flicked back in the direction of his sister, the only clear indication that he had even heard her. Any other time her words would of been enough to stop him but this time it was too late. The cardinal had already made up his mind. In one quick swipe his claws tore through the flesh of Blitzen's throat as easily as a knife cutting through butter. Warm blood sprayed from the wound panting the white half of Leviathan's face crimson. He didn't flinch, instead remained unblinking as he watched his former follower sputter and choke on his own blood in a miserable attempt to gasp from breath. It was over quickly, with a soft thud the tom fell lifelessly to the ground. Silence lingered around the group for several moments, no one dared to utter a sound. Levee stared at the lifeless form of Blitzen a sinister grin stretching his features. A deep purr rumbled in his throat shattering the silence that at this point had become almost suffocating. As quickly as the grin had appeared it vanished, replaced with a more serious expression. Softly he whispered a prayer to Selene before looking up to look around at his followers. He took care to meet the gaze of everyone in attendance.
"Let this be a lesson to the rest of you, as well as a tribute. There are no second chances for those who are disloyal and dishonest."

"Well, guess that's that." Abaddon muttered, no indication the scene even phased her as she licked a paw and swiped it over her ear.
Yuki, meanwhile, was doing her best to keep her fur from fluffing up. Just like that, it was over. Blitzen was gone. She couldn't speak if she tried. It wasn't that she didn't take it seriously, it was just seeing how easily Leviathan did it. How the crimson blood decorated him. How it scared her. It worked though, she would think twice of double-crossing him.
Twig stopped himself from flinching, but barely just. He had not been expecting things to turn so wildly at the end. He gazed at Blitzen's now lifeless body, his spirit gone in an instant. Of course, Twig knew he had nothing to fear from Leviathan. The young tom was as loyal to the leader as he was to Selene. Still... A chill crawled up his spine. A sacrifice was different than straight murder. He stilled himself and raised his eyes to look at Leviathan, and when he saw the tom's satisfaction, Twig's head tilted. He wondered what it was like to feel that sort of power, that sort of... content.
Leviathan gave a satisfied nod when none of his followers gave any protest to his actions. Though he suspected that it was mostly in fear of him. Good they should fear him, but more than that they should be loyal. Only those who had something to hide from him should fear him. "Now that that is over, you should all try to rest. None of us have eaten in days, So get some sleep, when the sun rises we can hunt for something to recover our strength." Nights like these were the only time his followers were allowed out during the day and for good reason.
