Mistralkit had never known anything but the cold. Her mama, Heathersong, had saved her whole litter from the cold, only to bring them into a slightly less-cold camp. Still, the little she-cat shoudln't complain. She did anyway. "It's so coooold," she wined, trying to fluff up her wispy white coat against the cold that still managed to find its way into the cave. "Why can't I have lunch yet? I'm hungry." The little she-cat wasn't typically prone to wining and complaining, but with the prey shortage and the growled exchanges between the adults occuring more often, she had fallen into a petulant melancholy. She looked around her nest - filled with soft moss and warm feathers - for anything to take her mind off of her rumbling stomach and cold paws.
"The warriors are trying their best." Fastkit mewed from the other side of the cave. He was much older than the still fluffy younger kit and his sleek fur didn't offer much protection against the biting wind. He'd really spoken only to reassure himself that the warriors were trying their best to feed the clan, but the territory wasn't good. He'd heard so many cats whispering about how they'd all die at this rate and about leaving the group to find better options. Suddenly he wasn't so sure they were trying their best.

Mistralkit looked over at Fastkit when he began to speak and glared at him with nothing less than an adorable frown. "If they were trying their best, I wouldn't be hungry," she argued, sitting down heavily and kneading the ground with tiny paws. "But I guess if there's no prey, then they can't catch any...Still." She looked at Fastkit a little closer when he approached, noting his age and stature. He had to be at least a few moons older than her, and this immediately raised him in her appraisal. "If you say so," she finally acquiesced, shrugging. "I'm Mistralkit, by the way. You're...Quickkit, right?"
