[attr="class","box2"]Littlestar and Skipstep had just returned from their journey of harmony the night before. They had been greet with warm smiles and cheers, but she couldn't help but notice that something was off. The clan was acting strangely almost as if they were afraid of her return, even though they were glad to see her. At least the clan hadn't burned to the ground while they had been away...
Despite all of this she and Skipstep had retired to her den for the night, exhausted from the long journey. What ever it was, surely it would wait until first light.
As soon as the soft morning light filled her den, she carefully untangled herself from Skipstep. Before leaving she lowered her muzzle, giving him an afectionate lick behind his ear before leaving to find Bloodyrondo and receive his report before the morning prayers. It felt strange to leave Skipstep behind sleeping, for the two of them had spent every waking moment the past few moons at each other's side on a rather grand adventure.
Not seeing him in the main cavern of their den, she walked out into the bright sunlight over looking their camp. Flowers petals were still scattered across the camp, while cats moved back and forth in a buzz. She wrapped her fluffy tail protectively around herself, knowing that the Sun God had saw fit to bless her with another litter. It was still so early that she couldn't be certain, and no other cat would have been even able to pick up on the subtle signs. She closed her eyes, taking in the warm sunlight, and the scent of her home. The SunClans's High Priestess had returned.
Bloodyrondo had woken up early - not a habit he had before Littlestar's honeymoon - and was busy giving direction to the morning patrols as the High Priestess approached him. She wouldn't have been able to pick up the first half of what he was saying, but she probably heard the end of it, "... and make sure to double up at DayClan's border, we can't give them the chance to try something funny again." With that, he dismissed the patrols and had turned around to head back to his den before very nearly running Littlestar right over.
"Oh, sorry, Littlestar. I sort of figured you were going to sleep in after such a long journey. I hope you had a good time," Oh no, this was bad. He knew that the first thing she would want to do was for him to give her a report. He wasn't quite ready for that, "Where do you go?" Yes, let's go ahead and stall. Too bad Littlestar knew him well enough at this point to pick up on the fact that he was acting very suspiciously.

[attr="class","box2"]Littlestar was rather surprised to find Bloodyrondo up and about this early. Before she had left, she almost had to drag him out of his nest. Perhaps the extra responsability that had been placed upon him had forced him to mature a little in her absence.
She allowed him to finish up, but it was the last part that had captured her attention. What had DayClan done while she had been away? Had Glowstar brought some strange food back and forced Bloodyrondo to try it or something? Whatever it was, surely hadn't gone and messed up the Pride Alliance while she had been away. She and Glowstar had been friends for long enough that she didnt think that the DayClan leader would simply up and walk away from the alliance they had formed without cause.
"A rather magical place..." she responded, narrowing her eyes at her promised, picking up that he was trying to avoid telling her something "but I can tell you about that at a later time, for now I need to get caught up around here. I do expect a full report on the Romance Festival and what happened while I was away" [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
"The Romance Festival was a resounding success. Several cats have become mates and there are many kits on the way - even Autumngossamer is pregnant, can you believe it?" Bloodyrondo replied almost too quickly, "We are all out of fertility herbs as well, although I did not have to make a second batch as we suspected. I think in past years you probably gave them out too freely. Honeysplash alone tried to take them all on the first day, but I stood my ground... anyway... I've been having Moonlitnocturne mostly do clean up and at this point all that is left to do is the formal Mate Choosing Ceremony and to declare Cupid. I knew you wouldn't want to miss those so I postponed them until your return.."
Bloodyrondo would have loved to share with Littlestar that he had found a mate as well but was pretty sure now was not the time given she was one of her youngest daughters and he had much worse news to share, "I am sorry to say that I did have trouble with DayClan in your absence. It would probably be best to discuss this in your den."

[attr="class","box2"]Littlestar blinked. Autumngossamer was pregnant? Now that was a surprise. The she-cat had always been afraid of pregnancy, its why she and Lovesmitten had choose to adopt. What had changed her mind? Perhaps it was an accident, if so she could imagine what was going through her mind at the moment. However it was what he said next that really caught her attention. What kind of trouble had they had with DayClan?
"Very well, lets speak in private" she glanced around the cats going about their day "However I am proud of you for pulling off the Romance Festival. I know first hand that isn't an easy task" she was curious about all the new couples, but there would be time for that later.
A moment passed, but she turned to go back to the den that the two of them shared. [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
Bloodyrondo was really dragged his feet as he entered the main chamber of their den. The walk over had been silent and a little awkward, almost like Littlestar was already mad at her Priest Promised, but he could have been reading too much into it. His mind tended to imagine the worst case scenario most of the time.
He ducked his head as he entered the narrow doorway that led to his den. The scent of herbs permeated the main chamber. It had become the smell of home for Bloodyrondo and was a source of comfort for him now. He had originally thought herbs were only useful in physical application, but it seemed these days the scents did more healing than the leaves, at least in his case. Calm down, he sat down and motioned for Littlestar to as well, then began his report.
"A couple of DayClan cats, Cinnamonsavage and Lightningpaw, had gone missing. I was leading a border patrol at the time and came across Strikhedoniadalisay and her patrol who were searching for them. We of course had nothing to do with this so I allowed Strik to satisfy her needs and search the SunClan side of our border. She of course found them right away... It was obvious to me that they had trespassed onto SunClan territory and came across something that incapacitated them, perhaps eating herbs they should not have. Maybe even the Sun God intervened. Strik was enraged either way. She did not believe that SunClan had nothing to do with this. And..." He paused before delivering the worst news and diverted his eyes, "...I regret to inform you that she formally resigned from the Pride Alliance until further investigation is completed. I believe she planted her cats on our side of the border so she had a reason to break the Alliance. I do not know why that is, but she is blaming us right now, Littlestar."

[attr="class","box2"]Littlestar let out a little puff of air after he had finished speaking. She had been gone one moon, and apparently that had been long enough for their alliance with DayClan to shatter. Bloodyrondo wasn't to blame, not unless had had knowledge of the two cats being on their territory.
"If there is one thing I know about Strik, is that she would not have placed her family in danger with such a foolish manuver, though there is little doubt that something is amiss" she couldn't help but allow her mind to wander to Foxbane. Was her former mentor trying to stir up trouble once more? She wanted to believe that she wouldn't take advantage of her absence to do such a thing, but she wouldn't have put it past her.
"I will go meet with Strikhedoniadalisay and see if I can smooth the situation over. We have been friends for a long time, so perhaps she will listen. In the mean time, we should look into this. Starting with out own..." she trailed off knowing that they would have to be careful with their interogations
"We were careful about not revealing my absence to the other clans, even those that were there for the ceremony had left before myself and Skipstep left for our journey for harmony. What steps have you taken to find the culprit thus far" [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
Bloodyrondo could tell that Littlestar was disappointed. Had she been part of her patrol, odds were that it would have ended much, much differently. She and Strik would have had negotiations of some sort and probably resolved it all right then and there. Bloodyrondo did not have the patience that his mentor had, though. He wouldn't like Strik talk to him like that, accuse him of something he didn't do, it was beyond rude to jump to conclusions so quickly with such little evidence. It was even more childish to break the Alliance without even asking the two cats who were the root of the issue about what really happened first.
"This happened only a couple of days ago. I did instruct the members of the SunClan patrol to keep this event a secret, but, despite my best efforts, word had spread throughout camp before the sun even set on that same day," that was mostly his fault, he had told Satinpaw all about it which meant she told everyone else, but she didn't need to know that, "Thus, interviews would be mostly useless, seeing as all cats know the details of the crime. There has been no investigation."
It was a long way to say he'd done nothing. He trusted the cats of his Clan and knew nothing like this would have happened under his watch. That is, unless Foxbane was involved. She was the only cat he never gave direct orders to. An exception to the rule.

[attr="class","box2"]Lets just hope Glowstar will see reason.." if SunClan agreed to cooperate in the investigation and even launch their own then there was still a chance that things could be salvaged after this debacle... but only if they were able to figure out how the two DayClan cats had ended up on their territory. This had happen two days ago... any evidence would have long been erased or contaminated, and they didn't have the two cats who had been hurt to question either.. What a mess he had left her to deal with.
She wouldn't involve Bloodyrondo directly in the investigation, he was to close to the situation. If Littlestar wanted to put an end to thing, she would need to be objective and figure this out on her own. "I'll go to speak with her at the end of the day, once I have taken care of some loose ends here in camp" [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
Bloodyrondo could tell that Littlestar was disappointed in him even though she didn't say anything. He wouldn't admit that he handled the situation poorly, but it was true that there was work to be done that he was fully capable of doing on his own. He was simply prioritized the climax for the romance festival over this investigation. Bloodyrondo understood the value of the Pride Alliance but at the same time was not the biggest fan of it. He had no tolerance for cats that did not follow the Sun God's laws correctly.
"I'm not so sure she will, but I guess you know her much better than I," He said, yawning - he was short on sleep, "Good luck."
