Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Snowbunny walked in like an apex predator, his shoulders bobbed up and down like a panther and his while he was on the shorter side for toms his strides were long. He always had a certain carnivorous prowl about him from expertly hunting prey for moons. When he ran his paws would quite literally not touch the ground at a certain point and since becoming a member of WinterClan that proved to be useful. Anytime prey was low he would set out in the biting cold of any frightening night to return with food. He was almost too perfect...
He seated himself down at a respectful distance from Wintrystar greeting her with a dip of his head, but otherwise said nothing. This time instead of remaining respectfully quiet he seemed to finally realize that he was a superior and could talk without being spoken to, "I'm glad to be a part of this meeting." He smiled at her, but at the sound of his voice, he sounded just as young and tauntingly playful as always. Despite his impressive skill and rank, he was still inexperienced and learning, a rookie at best.
Chesnutpaw was the next to enter the den, her speckled coat shiny and neat due to a recent, much needed grooming. Her pale green orbs took in the two cats, her eyes lingering a bit on Snowbunny, offering him a kind smile before settling next to him. "Hello Wintrystar, Snowbunny." She meowed gently, her calm presence radiating with her bright smile. "Earlybloom will be joining us in a bit, she needed to finish tending to one of the warriors who scrapped his paw on a shard rock on this morning's hunting patrol."
"Thank you for telling me. We'll begin the meeting when everyone has arrived." Turning her attention away from the Pupil, the narrowed eyed, expressionless she-cat addressed Snowbunny. "How are you handling your new position? I hope the other Knights have helped you to adjust well?" A burial of a kit had happened only last week, a task that fell under his jurisdiction. While Frostcloud was in charge of managing their prison and prisoners, and Lionwhisper with acting as an ambassador and advisor to the clan, it fell on SNowbunny to see to the dead and the graveyards. To act as the guide to the stars and the mother moon.
"Hi Chestnutpaw," Snowbunny said almost immediately upon seeing her, which collided with her greeting. He blushed when he talked over her and ducked his head slightly. Since joining WinterClan he had acquired a new accessory, a rose quartz that dangled from his ear, the symbol of the knight of the stars. At Wintrystar's question he straightened up, "Lionwhisper has been a great mentor, I couldn't feel more at peace having joined this clan. I hate to imagine a reality where Lionwhisper and everyone else in WinterClan just stayed a stranger to me. Thanks to him I feel I have a better understanding of your culture and what it means to be a knight. I hope to make you proud someday, Wintrystar," He said with a respectful dip of his head.
He left out any mention of Frostcloud, he wasn't a liar and if asked he would speak honestly about her. She had done nothing except demoralize him and try to put him down for any success he had. But he also didn't want to intentionally out her either. He was certain she was just hazing him for being new and wanted him to prove himself to her. He had been trying not to show that she was getting to him, but her behavior was beginning to get under his skin.
The growing confidence in Snowbunny's behavior was evident and left the Pupil in quiet awe as she stared up at him as he spoke to Wintrystar. At some point, the words were muffled as she just stared on, a mixture of pride and content shinning in her eyes as she watched her friend. He had grown so much in so little time. As much push back as there was for the Sovereign's decision to give a Knight position to a newcomer, he did everything and more to prove it was the best decision for the clan.
"I have no doubt that you already have, at least I can speak for myself."
Chestnutpaw turned to the new voice, her eyes catching the sight of Lionwhisper, who stood majestically at the entrance of the den. His horrendously tall figure always made Chestnutpaw feel so small, but never intimidated. His calm and surprisingly gentleness overrode the intimidating exterior.
"Lionwhisper!" Snowbunny exclaimed with a purr. He would be lying if he said he didn't idolize the knight, it wasn't always that way, but the older he got the more he wanted to be like Lionwhisper. He always came off relaxed, yet, not lazy. Strong, but not intimidating, he also knew when to speak and when to stay silent. All of those skills took time and patience, he hoped someday he would be as composed and virtuous as he was. Although internally he knew that probably wouldn't happen, Lionwhisper was the knight of the wise.
Frostcloud arrived right behind Lionwhisper. "Oh, please, Lionwhisper. If you keep praising him, he's bound to get a head too big for his own ears." The Knight Of The Guards eyes were a pair of cold sapphires, flinging icy shards at anyone who dared to look at them. The elegant white knight entered the meeting place, finding a comfortable spot beside Lionwhisper and a respectful distance from Wintrystar. Her cold gaze rested on Snowbunny in particular and narrowed. She still was not fond of the Knight Of The Stars. She didn't like the fact that an outsider had a high ranking position and, therefore, continued to give him a hard time. Her ear flicked when Snowbunny greeted Lionwhisper with such enthusiasm. She had to keep herself from letting out a snort of disgust. He could admire Lionwhisper all he wanted, that little wimpy kit would never grow to be even half the Knight Lionwhisper is.
Stormyblizzard smiled as the others began to arrive, she was happy to see them getting along for the most part but couldn't help noticing the rather icy gaze of Frostcloud resting on Snowbunny. She brushed it away and turned her own gaze to look over the rest of the group, the knights would need to work out their misgivings for one another, she was wary of the outsider at first too but the young tom was a hard worker from what she had seen and thus far had not given her any reason to doubt him. "Snowbunny, how are you settling in?"
Lionwhisper offered the young Knight a wide smile before turning to Wintrystar, bowing his head deeply before returning his gaze back to the Sovereign then to the Crowned, offering her a similar head bow. Before he could speak, Frostcloud walked into the den, making a snide comment as per usual. He knew the Knight mean't well but her delivery, as per usual, was questionable. "I give credit where credit is due." He spoke calmly, slowly sitting down off to Stormyblizzard's side.
Frostcloud rolled her eyes at Lionwhisper's response. She didn't believe Snowbunny deserved that credit. At least not yet. He hasn't quite proven himself to her.
Snowbunny knew Frostcloud's hazing had gone on longer than what was considered normal. At this point she was a downright rival of his. Everywhere he went with her she tried to degrade and humiliate him, but even as she poked fun of him he made sure he still kept his head high. The effort was a bit difficult, Frostcloud was an older superior, he was used to taking their words to heart. "I really liked the clan a lot, it's nice that your camps still underground in the Regime so it feel safe. I also really love that everyone is outside a lot more than Regime cats were so there's a lot of great perks. Plus I've been meeting so many amazing people," He purred to Stormyblizzard. But after a moment of thought added, "I also thinking I'm connecting really well with the god of life and goddess of death."
Chestnutspeck smiled at Snowbunny's thoughtful response, finding herself grow warm in a mixture of content and awe for her fellow clan mate. Seeing his comfort level within the clan and the cats made her happy, even with the growing rivalry between he and other Knight. "He's adjusted quite naturally to our ways, faster than I think any cat anticipated." Chestnutspeck added kindly, her green eyes turning to meet Snowbunny's for a few moments before shinning their way back to Stormyblizzard.
