Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. "I'm glad you feel that way, but here's the thing. You're literally admitting to tampering with my ability to use safe protective birth controlling herbs. Changing my appearance, lighting me on fire, cursing me to have bugs crawl out of my mouth, totally okay. And it's okay because there's gender equality in all of those things, you could curse a tom with those, but with me, that's just a sexist curse. You could never do that to a tom," She raised her voice in case he objected, "And if you could that's not the point because you haven't and you shouldn't. I want to be your soothsayer, but I respect myself too much to continue to be one if you continue to do this to me or do this to any other she-cat. I never want to spread your name if you think this is an acceptable punishment to force a she-cat to either risk being pregnant or not be intimate with their mate. I'll have this litter, but I want you to drop this part of the curse and to never tamper with a she-cats choice to have kits or to remain without kits. Do we have a deal?"
Autumngossamer didn't take her eyes off the Sun God. She may be a jerk and absolutely loved to dig into girls insecurities and humiliate others. But at the same time if he did this to Littlestar, who she hated, no way would she tolerate that, put aside differences she wouldn't let anyone treat any she-cat like that. She-cats stuck together, that was just basic clan girl code. Even if she accepted this curse she would basically be telling people to hail a guy who could totally do this to another she-cat, even her daughters.
[attr="class","box2"]A moment passed, before what Autumngossamer said sank in, as he nodded along with her as she spoke trying to be supportive. But one phrase sent him reeling... She was going to have this litter? His eyes landing squarly on her, mouth open wide in complete and utter shock. In this case jaw hitting the floor was almost not a metaphor, and instead an accurate description as he stumbled forward nearing hitting it on the ground.
Wait what just happened? A little bit ago she had been ready to kill herself in order to not have these kits, and now all of a sudden she had decided to go through with the pregnancy.
He blinked rapidly almost as if he couldn't believe what had just come out of her mouth "Wait, wait WAIT.... back up a second..." he stuttered, the blood rushing through his ears so loudly that he hadn't heard the rest of what she had told the Sun God "You are... you're going to have them?" he had been following her logic up to that point, and the sudden revelation had him completley disoriented "Do you mean that?" Ugh, she could hear Lovesmitten's paw skit across the ground forcing her to break her amazing stare down to look at her mate. He was blinking repeatedly and his mouth was wide open. She looked away to look back at the Sun God to see what he thought about this and back at Lovesmitten. Maybe he was on the verge of having a seizure, "Are you-"
"Wait, wait WAIT.... back up a second..."
This time Autumngossamer blinked, "Oh yeah, was it the part where I was saying the Sun God's being sexist to she-cat kind with his behavior? Or the part where I'll leave if he literally ever does this again? I know, whirlwind right?"
For a moment she looked confused before giving a look of annoyance, "Literally yes Lovesmitten," she scoffed before being unable to go through with giving her typical pissed off princess routine. She smiled, once again charmed by a feature that normally came off annoying from anyone else, but not him. She replied more soothingly, "I told you, this isn't my decision, it's ours. You can say you're willing to get rid of the kits, but I know you don't mean it. It's just like when you ask if I'm mad at you and I say I'm fine, but what I really mean is hell yes I'm mad as all get out at you, run." She rolled her eyes trying to pretend like she wasn't about to get emotionally gushy, "Like I'm scared of pregnancy, but what I realize is that I met a guy who I love so much," Her smile deepened as she couldn't resist but to look lovingly into his gaze, "that I'm willing to be brave for him and face the scariest thing in my life just to see him smile. How many people can say they have a love like that?"
She turned back to the Sun God, "Oh yeah, actually let's just have the whole curse removed during pregnancy cause when I get panicked my form really changed and for sure when I'm giving birth it'll happen again and I don't want the kits to come out mutated or disfigured from that. So do we have a whole deal on all this or?"
The deity watched Autumngossamer as she spoke. For the longest moments, he said nothing, letting silence reign as Lovesmitten filled the silence. It was impossible to tell what he was thinking, though he rose to his paws, towering over the pair in sheer size, and suddenly, he seemed even larger than before. His gaze held the Soothsayer's as the firelight strengthened, the heat becoming nearly unbearable. "You dare to demand anything of me?" The Sun questioned sharply, eyes narrowing to dangerous slits. "You are my Soothsayer, but that does not give you the right to command anything of me."
He fell quiet once more, staying so until the very moment when he felt her realize his apparent answer, but before she could even think to turn away his paw extended towards hers, upturned to show his pad. The being's mouth quirked up in a smile, and the momentary hostility that seemed to present itself dissolved into easy warmth and familiarity once more. "I will force no pregnancies on anyone, from now on, even as punishment. And though I never intended you to carry a second litter due to this curse, I will guarantee you now, that you shall never become pregnant again, except by your own request. I will also assure you that you will not change form when you give birth. This applies to your kitting only, however. Your punishment is set, Autumngossamer, and it would do no purpose to simply remove it."
Now it was his turn to wait, paw extended to see if she accepted his terms, because this was all he was going to give. The Sun God had already agreed to her point on the forced pregnancies, had promised she would not be pregnant again, and had even agreed to temporarily halt her changing of appearance during the kitting. He had already been quite generous, he felt, when he could have simply refused and chosen someone else to replace her.
Yeah, that was weird, she could still recall the times where she would never demand anything. But after being cursed like, death, pregnancy, horrible looks, friends and family death. Nothing. Hit. Nothing felt anything outside of numb. Everything was so much lighter now compared to how she had felt before. She could have moments of panic, moments of herself back when she felt everything so strongly, but even now, watching him tower her in size. He could set her on fire and she was certain it would be a relief for her. As he had said at the end of her curse, she wasn't broken before, but she was after that day. She almost felt bad watching him stare her down, totally right about now, old Autumn would have been freaking out, but in this moment she was just curious on what was going to happen next.
Her brown eyes widened in surprise listening to his words and felt even more surprised how ready she was for the worst case scenario. She placed her paw in the Sun God's paw before deeply bowing to him, "For that I will always devote my entire life to you."
She lifted her head to look him in the eyes, "In honor of your mercy and grace I'd like to make sure we meet at least on a weekly basis, same day in the afternoons, it's when we hear the best gossip. However I wouldn't mind talking more tomorrow afternoon either, we have so much to catch up on together. But right now I should probably spend some time with lovey dovey over there."
[attr="class","box2"]Lovesmitten had never seen the Sun God so angry, at least not with him as a target. His fur bristled under the intense heat, as he pressed closer to his mate. No matter what happened next, he was going to stand with her, but just as suddenly as it began it seemed that it was over.
Had Autumngossamer just struck a deal with the Sun God. He had always known that she was special, but this just drove home the point! Wow. Autumngossamer turned around and rubbed her nose against Lovesmitten's, "I guess we got a big day tomorrow. We'll tell the kits they're having new siblings, hopefully that'll go over well, but I'm throwing you under the fire if they're upset about it," She purred teasingly, "Then we can start thinking of names together, you're always so clever with those. After I'll schedule a 15 minute anxiety attack, except, I can't cause then I'll transform and harm the kits, so somehow I'll have to keep that under control." Her worried expression was scrunched up and cute, but when her eyes met Lovesmitten again she relaxed immediately, "But we'll figure it out together."
