"No I don't wannaaaaaa. You can't take me alive!! I'll never eat a vulture againnnn!" Calamitystar was dreaming again. In the middle of camp. While everyone skirted around him looking very concerned, yet not at the same time. This wasn't an uncommon occurrence. The leader wasn't necessarily lazy. He just so happened to be an early riser or night owl but never a mid-day kind of cat. That was his nap time. Not to mention, he always had the weirdest dreams mid-day, and always in the middle of camp. It was almost like the clan took turns waking him up from these weird dreams...

It seemed to have fallen to Dewpuddle to wake Calamitystar up today as no one else seemed inclined to. So Dewpuddle paused his lunch of finch padded up to the sleeping cat loudly, hoping the noise would wake his leader. When it didn't the large cat sighed dramatically and poked Calamitystar with a paw. "Hey," he meowed, trying not to sound amused, "wake up, the kits are frightened."
Actually, Wildkit stood nearby giggling. Dewpuddle shot him a meaningful look and the energetic kit let out a screech and hurled himself at Cal before Dewpuddle could stop him.

"OH. THE VULTURES THEY ARE ATTACKING." Calamitystar gasped as he felt tiny claws dig into his fur. He hopped up with a wild look in his eye. "Dewpuddle! How long have you been standing there? Watch out for vultures!" He meowed, still not completely awake. After a few moments of blinking away the sleep and collecting himself he gave a sheepish grin while Wildkit still clung to him. "Ah, sorry, I must have dozed off...again."

Dewpuddle sighed, a tragic sound as though trying to make peace with this cat as his leader. He had a tremedous amount of respect for Calamitystar, of course, but he also did weird things like this. "I've been here long enough to watch you twitch like a fox in a fit, are you alright?"
Wildkit scrambled over Calamitystar and growled, "roar, I'm a vulture. I'm gonna eat you!" He fell off Cal and went for his tail, growling like he imagined these vulture things did.

Calamitystar let out a huge yawn and blinked a few more times before giving a nod. "Yup, I think so. Except one thing..." He leaned in close to Dewpuddle's ear. "There's a vulture attacking my tail!" His voice was playfully frightened and began slowly spinning in circles to try and shake Wildkit off without throwing him off.

Dewpuddle tried to hide his sudden amusement as he whispered back, "I don't know that a patrol will arrive in time to save you."
Wildkit yowled, his voice cracking right in the middle of trying to sound fearsome. "You can't escape us, if you run we'll just chase you!" He imagine vultures as really big, hairy beasts that could run faster than you and eat you. He even managed to frighten himself with the image. He threw all his weight on the wayward tail, hissing fiercely as he did so.

Calamitystar gasped. "You're right! It looks like we'll have to face it alone..." He turned and gave a sly smile to Wildkit before poking him softly with a paw. "This vulture is mighty strong, don't you think, Dewpuddle?"

"Oh yes, very," Dewpuddle answered. "I wouldn't dare fight it, you must be the bravest cat in FallClan, Calamitystar. And the vulture is still gonna eat you."
"That's right," Wildkit squeaking, his voice amusingly deep as he let go of the tail and circled Cal, fur flurry and tail twitching jerkily, "I eat cats all the time. I gobble them up in my cave home!"

"Oh no! I think you're right! We must come up with another plan to stop it, huh? Perhaps we can challenge it to a game?" Calamitystar offered, sending a challenging wink towards Wildkit.

Wildkit squeaked, bouncing a bit, "yes!" Before remembering he was supposed to be a super scary vulture, pulling himself together he fluffed up and asked menacingly, "what kinda game, Cal?"
Dewpuddle was impressed by the relationship between Cal and Wildkit, it surprised him often how involved Calamitystar was with his clan. He doubted every leader would play such a game with a little kit.

"Hmmm... what kind of game would a vulture be bad at...." He wondered out loud for a moment before stamping paw down. "What about a game of classic hide and seek? You hide, and I'll find you!" Calamitystar had a strange relationship with kits. Sometimes they were annoying, but Wildkit and his siblings were special. He was their "cool uncle" afterall.

"Yes!" Wildkit replied, voice deep and 'serious', "Dewpuddle can play too, Cal. Don't be rude." The last statement was tinged with exasperation, as though he often had to remind Cal to invite warriors to play kit games.
Dewpuddle laughed and nodded, "I'd love to join you both."

"What a wonderful idea, Vulture!" Cal remarked, flashing a grin towards Dewpuddle. Honestly the warriors should be use to kit games since their leader was kit-like sometimes... most of the time.... "So are you hiding or are you seeking?"
