Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He did not try to hide himself. What would be the point? Einri-kun did not need to hide. These cats would not touch him out of fear of invoking Vera's wrath. Sure, they had that truce, but who expected the thing to hold up anyway.
Every once in a while, Jack-kedi looked straight at Einri-kun, coming out of what one might have considered a dazed stupor to glance up at the foreign bengal tom sitting right in the middle of camp. He'd glance down at his paws - seemingly for no reason - for about for five or six minuets with a glassy-eyed stare, before he'd give a quick lift of his tabby head, gaze at the other tom with a sort of oddly casual curiosity, and then go right back to looking at his paws. This just seemed to keep on with no clear end in sight. Each time he'd looked up it seemed as if Jack expected the golden foreign feline sitting in the middle of camp to just spontaneously disappear.
Considering that he seemed very well aware the tom shouldn't be here, one might of thought he would actually get up and do something about it. But, clearly, considering this pattern of events had just gone on for about 30 minuets, a completely out of place tom wasn't enough to provoke the suckling's interest to leave the rather shady corner at the far end of camp.
The fact that no one bothered to stop him near the camp was more of a surprise to the Bengal than anyone else. It was defense system the Coalition had in place, unless there was an ambush waiting for the League tom as soon as he entered the church. The fear blew away in the wind when his eye caught those of the fearful Jack-kedi. A smirk grew on the Bengal as he began to prowl towards the kitten. He was already so afraid, why not drown the peon in fear and despair?
The assertion that the suckling was afraid was sensible. One normally doesn't look down awkwardly at their paws for minuets at a time unless they have something they intend to not look at, and normally the reason someone would avoid looking at someone was out of fear. It was a reasonable connection to make. Unfortunately, most things with Jack-kedi weren't actually that reasonable.
The tabby once again looked up from his paws to stare at the tom,the began squinting a second before realizing the tom was, in fact, getting closer. He blinked once more, as if to confirm it, before giving a soft sigh. It wasn't going to go away, was it? This time Jack didn't bother to look away from the tom, instead he just kept a rather defeated gaze on the bengal tom. It was probably about that time that it was pretty noticeable that Jack-kedi wasn't really afraid of the tom. Maybe slightly unnerved, especially now that Einri-kedi had a smirk on his face, but the tom seemed mostly to just be casually observing with a slightly annoyed look. Like someone who had been angry at something for an hour and then had just given up being angry and fallen into a state of embittered complacency.
It was a pretty odd reaction, but it didn't seem to be changing. Not even with Einri's quickening approach.
The Primal Instinct trainee's confusion was clearly evident on his expression. This excuse for cat just... was not scared. It was ridiculous. Here he was, and intruder parading around the chapel, the beating heart of the Coalition, and not even a kitten was afraid on the Bengal Royal. It sparked an anger in him he had not yet grown to experience. His time in the league did not prepare him for such an oblivious, stupid feline. He gritted his teeth as he sat down in front of the suckling. His piercing gaze never lifted from Jack-kedi as he peered into his soul. "Do you have anything to say, or should I just move on and find someone else around her that is actually worth my time?"
