Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Sunbeam sniffed loudly as she padded into the training hollow, running fashionably late as always. Her son had been promoted just a few days ago, which meant she could finally stop spending all her spare time in the nursery and start actually training her own damn apprentice. I hope he doesn’t mind I had to put it off for a bit. Oops. Hey, it’s not my fault I got pregnant at a horribly awkward time.
“Elmpaw, you in here?” she called out as she entered. "Sorry, I'm running a little late, as per usual..."
"No worries," called the tom as he padded to the entrance of the den. Although many side-eyed him due to his unfortunate relations with a former dictator-type, the tom himself seemed to seldom have a care in the world. He was light in nature and he could understand why the she-cat might have struggled with training an apprentice with her own kitten. It wasn't like he was particularly itching to be trained, anyways. The less training he did, the more naps in the sun he could take.
The handsome dark tabby smiled at her. "I'm never going to argue an extra few winks of sleep," he meowed in a voice that was almost a purr. "How are you today?"
Sunbeam was about give an honest answer, before the events of the previous few days began to replay in her mind. Their father's back - he's come back to kill me - he's come back to kill Tundrapaw - oh god it's all going to be my fault -
She blinked. "Pretty good," she shrugged. I should ask Fawnheart about those. "...And you?"
"That wasn't the most convincing thing I've ever heard," he commented with a similar shrug. He didn't intend to pry, though. SHe had no reason to trust him with her problems, especially if there were problems that were bigger than not eating before training.
"But, I mean I'm fine. Cats are starting to forget that Tarantulastar was my brother, which you know is kind of helpful. And I took a good nap. So you know what, I'm thriving, Sunbeam."
"Who's Tarantulastar?" Sunbeam deadpanned, though she didn't mean anything by it. Elmpaw seemed like a pretty good-natured young man, who would have no issues breaking free of his half-brother's less-than-stellar reputation. "Glad you're doing well, then. Uh, I don't suppose you have a burning desire to cover anything in particular today...?"
