Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Tigerlily followed just below sync with Flamingstar, allowing the leader to lead and for her to remain loyally close, but not perfectly at her side or too obnoxiously behind. This was so Flamingstar could carry the image of someone important who had someone just a few paw steps away at their beck and call, submissive and loyal. Even her walk had changed, she intentionally made legs move more tightly, more steps between than necessary making Flamingstar's stride look more relaxed, purposeful, and her own steps to be more attentive and hurried the way a servant should be.
When they suddenly stopped at Echomelody's presence she watched the interaction with a careful gaze. She already heavily observed body language enough to know how to make her own appearance change Flamingstar's to know that something was off about Echomelody. Her steely crystalline gaze was on her until the moment she was out of sight before turning back to Flamingstar, "Don't worry, I'm here to change that too. I've done my research and I can tell people have sabotaged your every move since becoming leader. Your public relations could use some work to help... Correcting these misled warriors. Don't worry, I'm not speaking of anything such as public demonstrations of discipline, these would simply be things done on the side under the cover of daylight."
Flamingstar sighed once more. "Perhaps I can be a bit harsh on my subjects but I've never had Echomelody's loyalty. Her loyalty lies with the previous leaders, still. She is not the only one, either. That is why I need you."
Tigerlily nodded along, "Flamingstar, how about we grab prey and go to anywhere that has the most private location possible to speak, that is where I can help most."
Flamingstar was going to eat on her, oh so comfortable, throne but Tigerlilly had a point. They didnt need any eavesdroppers. "We can go to my den. It's the most private place in the camp." She gestured to a path not far from her throne that led up to a small cave high above the cavern. There was a screen of moss covering the entrance to her den. That would give them the upmost privacy. Flamingstar chose a squirrel from the pile and led the way up the path to her den. She pushed through the low hanging moss into the comfort of her den. It was a much bigger cave than the rest, quite too spacious for only one cat. The floor was covered in soft sand, keeping the cave very warm and cozy. A single mossy nest lined with feathers laid toward the back of the den. Low hanging moss draped the top of the ceiling, giving the room a luxurious feel. Flamingstar settled into her nest and gestured for Tigerlilly to sit in front of her so that they may speak of their plans.
"I'm going to make an immediate suggestion. I think what needs to change is the respect and loyalty these cats have towards you. To do that I will need to first figure out who these disloyal cats are, find what they don't like about you, and replace it with something in arguably pleasant about you for them to like. If that doesn't work I will resort to brainwashing, but for the masses it should work. However, I can tell from my prior investigations that your disloyal cats are wary of those loyal to you. If we are to go through with this plan I'm going to need to act very shy and intimidated of you to gain their trust until I collect enough data off of them. I will be frank, I will say whatever needs to be said to gain their trust."
"There may be a flaw in your plan. There's nothing about me that anyone likes. I took the throne by force, I betrayed my birth clan, I killed innocent cats. I don't blame them for being disloyal but..." her gaze hardened. "I do not wish to change the way I lead my subjects. However, I do like the under cover idea." Flamingstar rubbed her chin with her paw, her lips curling in a grin. "Yes...that could work nicely."
Tigerlily smiled, no one had ever liked her plans before, not when she told them honestly anyways. It was why she had to lie so often, but to see Flamingstar smile at the idea of it filled with her pride. "That means that you can go as far as you need to play your role. If we need to talk in depth privately, just call the other crazy, not insane, crazy. This sounds natural like we're calling each other out and then have reason to walk away and talk. I won't change your leadership style, but I do think we can arrange someways for you to come off more heroic and therefore more appealing. Planting situations for you to come off superior and such. Of course, not yet, not until I can pick out who the disloyals are to watch out for. At the end of each night though I will come to your den and report to you everything I've done."
"Heroic, hm? While that sounds all fine for you, I'm not very heroic. I dont want to look...how would you put it?...good I guess? It's not really my style. Besides, showing my subjects that I have a soft heart, even if it's for pretend, will make me look weak and vulnerable." Flamingstar began to pace as she contemplated and brain stormed. "What they need to see is that I'm powerful enough to lead them. That they are safe as long as they are with me. No clan has tried to go to war with us since I became leader. I have started battles and have won them. They need to see that I can lead them to victory." Suddenly, a light shone in her eyes as an idea came into her mind. "I've got it! Sunclan and Dayclan have split their alliance. Dayclan is weak right now. They don't have Sunclan at their beck and call anymore. I could take something from them. Perhaps territory. Then, not only will I see if the alliance is truly broken but I could also show my subjects that if they stick with me, they will be victorious!"
Tigerlily's expression turned concerned as she tapped her two claws from opposite paws together in thought before nodding in confident agreement, but her brow was still furrowed, "I agree on the terms that it doesn't involve my uncle Fuzzyheart. He is possibly the only person on this earth I love. He is a DayClan cat, but so long as we can try to avoid harm as much as possible distinctly to him, I will assist in every way possible," She promised.
(I think this is a good ending for the rp as it leads to the Hear My Battle Cry)
