Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Speckledpaw couldnt help the smile that was beginning to show on his face. He seemed to really care about her and Windy was right about the warrior code. He had always been told that it was against the code but now that he repeated it in his mind, he realized that it didn't actually say that. So why was it always against the rules? Speckledpaw shrugged it off. They were nearing the camp. "Yup! That's it!" He led Windyhurricane into the camp, all the eyes staring at the two toms as they entered the camp. Two pair of those eyes happened to be Stormgazer's.
Stormgazer had been watching her kits lovingly when Speckledpaw entered the camp with a cat following him. She casually looked up, expecting it to be his mentor but instead, the tom that entered the camp behind the apprentice was none other than her former mate. Her heart sank as she stared wide-eyed in surprise. What was he doing here? A part of her wanted to race up and wrap her paws around him but she was reminded that he had left her to care for their kits so her paws stayed grounded where she stood with her kits. She watched him, unsure if he had seen her yet and if he was going to approach her.
Windyhurricane came into camp limping a little too over dramatically to come off realistic, "oh wow, this apprentice clubbed me right in the eyeball. You should just promote him on the spot, I've never seen this kind of awesome power before," He said expertly hinting at everyone that Speckledpaw was tough enough to be a warrior. Even though it made no sense why he was limping if he got whacked in the eye. But still, he wanted to try and thank Speckledpaw for leading him up here to find his family so faking an injury to give him his warrior name was the least he could do. That all seemed to drop once he caught sight of Stormgazer, "oh my God! Stormgazer?" He said as if he shouldn't be expecting her in camp.
"Hold on, hold on," He fell onto his back, rolling around once or twice before shooting up into a standing position suddenly. He had flowers in his jaw that likely were tangled deep in his fur, "I got these for you." He said holding out wilting blue flowers, but the blue looked just as vibrant as the day he picked them, "They're called cent-aureraaaaa ♫" He sang out, "Sorry that's the only way I was going to remember the name was singing it, but they grow at the top of mountains. I brought it to give to you as an apology, but to also prove that I didn't leave on purpose. I got super lost looking for medicine for my mom and brought these back because you'll never find these anywhere, but where I've been. I never meant to leave you and I should have always chosen you first. Stormgazer, I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Ever since I set my eyes on you, I felt I was the chosen one that you allowed into your heart. I love everything about you, I want you, I want to wake up everyday and think, wow, I'm blessed to wake up looking at you. I want to make up every lost moment, I want this life with you here. Can I be chosen again to be in your heart?"
Speckledpaw puffed out his chest when Windyhurricane acted like he was injured but then once Windy saw Stormgazer, the act was over. It was revealed that it was all faked and Speckledpaw wouldn't probably be scolded instead of promoted but seeing the happiness in Windyhurricane and Stormgazer made him forget all about his own ambitions. Seeing the two reunited because of him brought him pride. Who cares if he doesn't get promoted this time? There's always time to make up for it. He watched as Windy ran up to Stormgazer with the flowers he had magically pulled out of his fur.
Stormgazer was shocked by Windyhurricane's proposal. She wasn't expecting any of this. She had just assumed he had left because he was afraid to be a father but here he was wanting back into her life and wiling to live in Sumerclan to be with her but could she forgive him so easily? He did say he got lost and knowing Windyhurricane, she believed it. She lowered her ears and smiled as he revealed the wilted flowers to her. "Oh, Windy...they're beautiful" she purred as she sniffed them. She gently took the flowers and set them at her paws before staring into his eyes. Her own blue eyes sparkled with love but she fought the urge to brush against him and feel the warmth of his body against hers. Then, the sparkling in her eyes faded. She stepped back to reveal eight tiny kits at her paws. "Windy, these are our kits. Soaringkit, Thunderkit, Wispykit, Tundramist, Skykit, Twisterkit, Rainkit, and Lightningkit." She pointed to each one with her tail. "Kits, this is your father, Windyhurricane."
(I think we should wait for the rest to catch up! Jadie said she's stuck at work but once she gets off, she's going to reply!)

[ /sweats. I can't keep up lol ]
Twisterkit had watched the strange cat approach with careful curiosity, sensing Stormgazer's unease. But when she spoke, told them this was their father, the tom kit backed up a couple of steps, looking at Stormgazer in shock. "But... we don't have a father... we have you." Twisterkit didn't like this or this Windyhurricane, he seemed okay but he didn't smell like them and he most certainly couldn't be their father. The young cat turned away resolutely, deciding this was all a joke. Stormgazer was messing with them surely, he looked at Wispykit for confirmation. A smile or laugh or friendly nudge. A sign of some sort that he was being messed with.
( It's me! Home from work! Thank you for waiting for me )
A gray ball of fur, recently introduced as Wispykit, forced her way in front of Stormgazer and let out a truly terrifying hiss. It seemed out of character for a kit usually so timid, but, judging by the fact that her tail was between her legs, it was clear to anyone that she was terrified. This particular kit very strongly resembled Windyhurricane: although a shade lighter in color, she had near identical markings. It was hard to say if her fur would be long like his or short like her mother's when she grew up. Either way her pelt curled at odd angles forming little swirly wisps which she had been named after, "Mama, he could be dangerous. And he smells bad. We should go inside!" Wispy saw Windy swish his tail and hissed at him again.
Stormgazer purred at Twisterkit's comment. "Everyone has a mother and a father, dear." When Wispykit stepped forward and hissed at Windy, Stormgazer rested her soft tail gently on the kit. "It's alright Wispykit. He won't hurt you. He smells different because he isn't from around here. He used to live in Winterclan."
Skykit was extremely shy and timid and hid behind her mother when Windyhurricane approached and didn't come out of hiding even after her mother said that he was their father. She looked him up and down but did not come out from behind Stormgazer. This was a safe place. If Windy tried anything, she knew her mother would protect her.
Wispykit winced at her mother's touch and very nearly hissed at that, too, but she managed to choke it back. She looked at Windyhurricane dubiously and then back up to her mother. She really trusted Stormgazer but she just didn't think this tom was good news, "WinterClan cats are supposed to be bad guys though!"
"That's enough going to the elders for stories. Winterclan are not bad guys. They just present themselves differently than we do and some mistake it as hostility. Winterclan has helped many clans before." She chided her daughter, gently. "Besides, does that big ball of fluff look dangerous to you?" She chuckled, pointing at Windy who always had debris stuck in his fluffy fur.

"Then why hasn't he always been here?" Twisterkit challenged, "if we do also have a father, why did he stay away? That's not fair." Twisterkit was now hiding half-behind Wispykit, eyes full of distrust aimed at his father. His mind was still blown from learning he had a mother and a father, but he didn't comment anymore on it.
Stormgazer didn't answer Twisterkit. Instead, she gave Windy a painful look. It hadn't just effected the kits, it also effected her. It may have been an accident that he was away from his family but it was still painful to think about. He should have been here with Stormgazer. He should have been here to see his kits being born. Instead, he went on some silly quest that took him away from his family, losing time he can never get back.
Windyhurricane watched excitedly as his kits talked back and forth. They looked amazing! They were amazing, he could pick out all the details about them that looked like Stormgazer and looked like him. Okay they didn't look entirely like him, but that was okay, they carried their moms side and that made him smile even bigger. At least before realizing that they didn't like him. His tail fell, that was alright, he had time to make things up.
He knelt down to his kits level, his eyes full of compassion and infinite understanding, "Just like how your mom is Stormgazer, I have a mom and her name is Mistyveil. She got really sick, but the bad thing is, she was the medicine cat of the clan and there was no leader. If the medicine cats sick then there's no one to help her or the rest of the clan. I had to leave WinterClan to find her medicine because herbs don't grow out in the snow. But I'm not a medicine cat so I had to find herbs on my own instead of asking other medicine cats for help. I'm sorry I left, but just like how you would do anything for your mom, I had to do everything in my power to save my mom. In fact if it wasn't for your grandma I wouldn't have met your mom."
He gave a reassuring smile, "But from here on out I'm here for you and Stormgazer. You'll never have to leave on your own looking for miracles the way I did because I'll be here to look after you. Someday I hope to earn your love and forgiveness completely," He said, but he wasn't just looking at the kits, but also at Stormgazer.
Stormgazer melted at his words, the sparkling returning in her blue eyes. Especially after he had recalled the first time they met. His mother had brought him along to ask Summerclan for herbs and that was when their eyes met and their hearts seemed to just find each other. She could remember it like it was yesterday. After that, they began sneaking out to see each other at the border and their love grew. Until the day she was going to leave Summerclan to join Winterclan after finding out she was expecting his kits. They had agreed to meet at the border but when she arrived, he wasnt there. She had come back to the border every day until she could no longer make the trip due to her pregnancy. She had just assumed he didn't want to be a part of her life or the kits' lives anymore and she had given up but now he was here - asking for forgiveness, giving his side of the story and wanting to join them in Summerclan. It might take time for her to be sure that this was what he truly wanted and to regain the trust she had lost in him but at least they were together now and were a complete family for the first time.
She only hoped that while they rekindle their relationship and make up for lost time, her kits will learn to accept him and love him as their father. She felt regret for not telling her kits about Windy. She had been angry with him and felt that not only did he not deserve their kits to know him but it could hurt their kits to think that their father abandoned them. Stormgazer wasnt sure what she could have said to them to make it hurt less so she never told them. Now they were here, face to face with their father and already rejecting him. Perhaps if she had just told them the truth, they wouldn't be so cold toward him. But she knew the kits were young and there was still time for their family to heal.
~~~~~~~~~~
Skykit felt bad that her siblings were being so cold to their father. From what Windy was saying, it sounded like it was beyond his control. It sounded like he wanted to be there for them and for their mother. She knew all cats had a mother and a father but she never questioned Stormgazer about who their father was; she only wished upon every shooting star that she would have a father. Now it seemed like all her wishing finally came true. She had been blessed with a father. She gathered up all her courage and tottered over to Windyhurricane, stepping ahead of her siblings to face Windy. While he was still crouched, she pressed her head to his and purred loudly. "I forgive you, papa" she whispered, feeling the final pieces of the puzzle connect that she always knew were missing.
( I'm not going to be able to roleplay until late tonight maybe even tomorrow so don't feel like you have to wait for me lol )
"Your mom was a medicine cat? Isn't that against the rules?" Wispykit wasn't hissing anymore and her fur had smoothed down a little but. Seeing as he hadn't made any suspicious moves and that her mother promised he was safe, she finally yielded and approached Windy at Skykit's heels. The little gray kit leaned forward just close enough to get a good whiff of his tangled, woody mess of a pelt. She'd never smelled a WinterClan cat before but she didn't think they smelled quite so... earthy. She turned her murky in-between eyes to the tom's face and readied another hiss should he make any sudden moves toward her. Wispy didn't pick up on any animosity or aggression from him though. He seemed very calm and friendly and was saying nice things. But still... he had been gone for her whole life, how could she trust him?
Twisterkit looked uncertain but nodded to his father, showing at least a willingness to try. However, he padded over to his mother and brushed up against her, "you were all I needed." His voice sounded sad and a little lost. Despite the siblings and mother he loved, Twisterkit was a lonely soul. And this had somehow made him feel more alone. Or perhaps it was hurt at having not even been told he had a father. The small kit tried to shake off the feelings and approached Windyhurricane behind his siblings, ears a bit flat but pelt smooth.
Stormgazer fought back the rising emotion at what Twisterkit said to her. It broke her heart that he felt that way. When he brushed up against her, she leaned down and gave him a couple affectionate licks between his ears before watching him walk over to stand behind his siblings, her brows furrowed.
Windyhurricane watched as his tiny daughter walked over to him, she looked so small and when her muzzle touched his forehead it carried the force of a thousand suns, it felt warm and inviting with all the softness of a fluffy kitten. He whisked Skykit off her paws and onto his shoulders, "I love you more than you'll ever know," Windyhurricane purred, reaching his head around he nuzzled into her before catching Wispykit's question. Ohhh. That was a tough topic.
"Well," He said, his voice going up an octave for a moment, "Your grandma wasn't always a medicine cat. Originally she was a prison guard and then was... Imprisoned because she wasn't always a good person. But when WinterClan was suffering and their medicine cat, Yellowmoon was murdered by a patrol of WaterClan cats, your grandma stepped up and despite her past crimes she dedicated herself to WinterClan as their medicine cat when they needed one most. I was already born when she volunteered to be a medicine cat. But WinterClan was so cold and so many cats were distant to even their own clanmates that there were never a lot of kits in WinterClan. So your grandparents, even though they shouldn't have had kits, had kits to ensure that WinterClan had future warriors. StarClan allowed Mistyveil the exception of having kits because it was the honorable thing to do. I ended up raising most of my siblings, though," He said with a short laugh, rubbing the back of his head.
Growing up he remembered taking care of his siblings took up a lot of free time. Even taking care of his mom took up a lot of free time, but really all it gave him was experience, he felt so ready to be a dad for kits that were his and Stormgazer's. "Actually Stormgazer, there's something else, I wrote you a song while I was in the mountains," Windyhurricane said with a smile that came with a blush.
Skykit squealed with delight when Windy placed her on his shoulder. She wrapped her tiny paws around his neck in a warm hug. "I love you too!" She purred, happily. As he began to tell the other kits the story of their grandmother and how he was born, she slid down his back and bounced over to stand in front of Windy once more, staring up with wide blue eyes.
Stormgazer was surprised and touched that Windy had written a song. "Oh, Windy. You didn't have to. You've already come home to me and the kits and brought me flowers" she purred. "But I would love to hear it!"
Wispykit did her best to follow her father's story but he just talked too fast and said to many things she didn't really understand yet. Prison guard? WaterClan? It was too much for her. The little gray kit leaned into her mother's side and glared at Skykit when she was placed on Windyhurricane's shoulder. What a traitor! "I don't wanna hear his song, mama," Wispykit declared just as a stray leaf, likely from Windy's pelt, landed on her nose. She crossed her eyes to look at it and then sneezed, causing the leaf to be airborne once more. She just could not resist batting at it and started chasing it around as if she did not have a care on the world. Her eyes were no longer on Windy and her fur was flat.
