Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The deputy padded down the river, his bright amber gaze sweeping across the territory. Everything still looked pretty rough in his eyes, but he'd never seen the territory in it's prime. However he couldn't imagine that prey ran this short and still supported a large group such as Waterclan.
He frowned as he jumped up onto a fallen tree and dug his claws into the bark to find his balance. This territory would take years to recover from such devastation and with the size of the group growing back at camp he wasn't sure how they'd find enough food to survive. He wanted this to succeed, for everyone's sake, but especially for Chim. Cimber was deep in thought, trying to figure out this problem that he didn't even notice as cat had come up behind him until their question startled him.
"Hey there... You. What are you up to?" Zephyrglade asked, approaching the deputy. Zephyrglade was an immensely tall tom, his sleek wiry figure looking gigantic compared to the average feline and his striking blue grey fur radiated powerfully in the direct sunlight. Hanging from his right ear were two seafoam blue and gren colored feathers. He was very new and by very new this was his first day in SwiftClan and had no clue what anyone's names were. But he had heard SwiftClan moved into WaterClan's old camp and some of his old clan members were even here. Despite how different everything was, it still felt like home. He was dying to slip his paws back into the water.
Cimber jumped spinning around at the words of the unknown tom. His dark amber eyes spinning to pin the feline. He wasn't someone the deputy knew to be a member of Swiftclan but with the way the group was growing that meant little to nothing. It took him a moment to clam his racing heart and respond to the question. "Surveying the territory to see if it can sustain us in the long run." He was blunt, they were going to have to start looking at the future viability of the area. "What are you doing?" He questioned as his ginger and white fur began to lie flat once again.
“I’m just exploring WaterClan’s old territory, did you know there’s a train here now?”
His tail drummed lightly against the grass, “It’s livable though.” He reassured, but also didn’t go into detail that he doubted this land would work out if some of the other SwiftClan cats didn’t at least try to follow the warrior code. Still though there were plenty of cats that seemed to determine to try and so long as there were two cats that cared a clan could always get on its feet and rise.
“It’s a little hard in leaf bare, but when WaterClan cats weren’t fishing we were digging. The lands always mushy and we would often find rodents in the ground to hunt or even hibernating frogs. Oh and geese, if you can find a lone goose those are amazing.”
"I did see that.. thing." At least he now had a work for the large metal cabin that sat in the territory. "As for the prey, it seems a lot of it either drowned or moved to land with actually food for them." His mouth tipped down into a frown once again. This was not going to work but he didn't have a solution. No one seemed to right now.
"I mean, SwiftClan did decide to be a clan in leafbare, that's hard enough as is, but then trying to establish authority, ties, and responsibilities, that adds a lot more drama to the hunt. I'm sure we're just naturally in a rough patch," Zephyrglade reassured. He hadn't thought of it, but yeah it was odd that Chimerastar decided of all times that right now in leafbare was excellent to form a new clan, which really no one currently alive had ever heard of a clan being completely created out of nowhere. Maybe his strategy was that none of the other clans would have the strength or willpower to oppose him, but a part of him felt that the reasoning was as plain as they came, he just didn't think that part through. For him that was alright, he came here to the literal SURVIVAL Clan territory knowing it wouldn't be easy by any means. Other members seemed to feel ripped off though.
Zephyrglade looked around, "Kind of incredible, that flood could have killed everyone, but it managed to be redirected only at this quarter of the land. I don't think anythings beyond repair, nothing time can't heal sort of thing, but I get your point, times not something we can wait on."
