Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Glowstar had sat down at the typical meetup spot waiting for Mittens. Mittens had been her deputy multiple times and had even saved DayClan! She deserved some one on one time set aside for themselves. She was practically the Eerie families savior. Actually practically wasn't the right word, she just was awesome.
Mittens wasn't quite sure why she was there. For some reason she'd been weirdly compelled. Probably because Glowstar was practically a siren. Or maybe practically wasn't the right word. More like, 'The only person who understands a word she says.'
"It's good to see you Mittens, I need some advice on DayClan's military and how we can better-"
"Heyyyyy Mit-tens," Lucistic said sliding in next to her, it was, of course, none other than Mittens personal, totally accurate translator. He scooched in way too close next to her, "Couldn't just not show up to such a big meeting, right?"
"This is my son, Lucistic, have you met him before, Mittens?" Glowstar asked.
"Meow," Mittens said, which roughly translated to: Who are you again? and Never seen you before in my life
Mittens, of course, knew exactly who Lucistic was, and was not looking forward to this whatsoever. Here's hoping that this meeting would be a short one. Hopefully cut short by a terrible thunderstorm. Or firestorm. Whichever. Mittens wasn't picky.
"Ha, she's hilarious like that," Lucistic grinned.
"I see," Glowstar said, "Anyways I was hoping you could let me know, where do you think we should have our defenses more? Near rogue territory, SunClan, MoonClan, or the city?"
"Meow," Mittens said, which, again, roughly translated to Who knows or Why would I care? or How about you put it wherever you most need it. It's not like Mittens pays attention to anything aside from catnip, anyways. She'd say to just throw all the effort into shoring up the lake, 'cause lakes are fun, you know? Just like catnip is fun. Ya know? Or something.
Wait. Hang on a second. Lucistic was Glowstar's child? Oh man... why did everything in her life suddenly make so much more sense?
"Mhmm mhmm." Glowstar said with an understanding expression.
"Don't worry mom, I got this one, she said that SunClan cats are terrorists, storm their castle. Um. MoonClan isn't a real clan, no one lives there so it's cool beans there. The cities got great catnip that your son totally doesn't use and the rogue lands are safe and easy breezy. Her words, not mine."
"Fascinating insight Mittens," Glowstar said, making it unclear if she believed her son or not or was just referring to what Mittens said to begin with.
Mittens blinked. She wasn't quite sure what they were saying, but she was pretty sure that they hadn't understood a single word she said. "Meow," Mittens said imploringly, and questioningly, and just a little bit apprehensively. "Meow?"
A walk? Pfft. Nah. Mittens was gonna be contrary just because she was a spiteful li'l cat. Not that she was little, or all that spiteful. Actually, it was more that she was incredibly lazy right now and a walk outside, in the pouring rain, was like, so not on her to-do list. "Meow," Mittens pointed out, 'cause if they wanted to get drenched, then so be it.
Neither. "Meow," and Mittens said as much. 'Cause honestly, right now, Mittens just wanted to chill with her fish. Except Mittens doesn't have a fish. But gosh darn, she was gonna get a fish one day.
Whoa whoa whoa. Hang on a second. Why did Mittens have a weird sensation that today was supposed to be 'The Misadventures of Glowstar and Mittens'? 'Cause it ain't no adventure if there ain't no Glowstar. Or something along those lines. Actually, Mittens wasn't even sure where she was going with this anymore.
"Meow," Mittens said soothingly to Lucistic. Counting was hard.
Lucistic nodded, "Yes. Yes it is very difficult to be a tom in this era. Thank-you for the comfort Mittens. We need to prove to my mom that we're worthy of an adventure. That you're worthy of having an adventure with her and the only way to do that is by having a great adventure."
