Asterblossom wasn't sure what kind of game this was but she didn't like it. An apprentice? For her. It made no sense, Asterblossom was famously ignored in WinterClan. And she was okay with it in this instance. The she-cat wasn't cut out to be a mentor. She was too nervous, too jumpy. Still, there was a new courage in her now because of Wolfbee and maybe this was a good thing. Steeling her nerves the young warrior left the warrior's den and padded to where the student's slept. A few of them were leaving with their mentors as she approached and she flicked her tail and called, "Cosmicpaw! We're leaving too."
Cosmicpaw hadn't stopped grumbling about the mentor she had been paired with since the ceremony, thinking up ways to make this experience as horrific as possible for the soldier as she could, her temper and attitude would definitely play its role but she knew she would need something extra to push the limits.
Curled snuggley in her nest, the newly named apprentice lay thinking, her eyes closed as the rest of her den mates left to train. She knew she needed to be up but surely Asterblossom would come find her eventually, just as the thought came her name was called. "Speak of the devil." Think it and it shall come to pass, with a low growl the ebony she-cat sat up and stretched slowly. "I'll be there in a second, you dont have to yell!"

Asterblossom was surprised by her students words and for one moment felt the submission she was once known for peak it's head up. But this was the first instance of the day and she was capable of defended herself thus far, "tone, Cosmicpaw." She meowed back, this time making sure to yell it. Bravery like this was dangerous for her, but she was trying to be a mentor capable of turning out wonderful cats for WinterClan. And in WinterClan there was a way to do things, being a sassy student was not part of that way.
The black she-cat rolled her golden eyes as she got to her paws, thinking about what a pest her mentor was. "Of course Asterbloom, where are my manners." They were lost somewhere with one of the other soldiers, while she this one played trainer. "What are we starting with?" There was still an edge to her voice as she slipped out of the den, her ebony pelt shinning in the white light of the sun as it reflected on the surrounding snow.

The newly named mentor decided to ignore her tone for now, leading Cosmicpaw out of camp without answering her question. What were they starting with? Asterblossom let her paws carry her off, they seemed to be heading to edge of the territory so she meowed, "we'll be learning the scents of other clans today, and getting to know our borders."
Is she ignoring me... The black apprentice watched Asterblossom closely as she led the way, she didn't like being ignored by others, that was her job. "Good, maybe we will come across someone crossing the border so I can practice." She unsheathed her claws into the snow as she walked.

"We'll hopefully not be fighting," Asterblossom replied, surprised, "you hardly know how to fight yet. We'll actually be practicing a bit later, we'll be doing a team exercise." The young cat was feeling pretty confident, maybe they'd get along just fine after all. Nothing to worry about.
