Honeycrisp stood before the fresh-kill pile, her belly round with what she had been told were at least four kits. She was beginning to get her appetite back after a bout of sickness, and this morning found her unable to decide if she wanted one mouse or two. The queen shuffled with discomfort before taking a single mouse, reminding herself there were others in FallClan to feed. The she-cat withdrew towards the nursery and sprawled out, a sad sigh escaping her. The father of these kits wasn't here, and didn't care much for her regardless, this was Honeycrisp's problem alone.
And the kits were a problem. She'd never wanted children and now with at least four coming, the days seemed to me marching her towards a future she never wanted.
