Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Coalsplash’s pale blue gaze fluttered open as the light from the morning sun - crisp and pale - streaming into the den he shared with the other warriors. The mostly white tom stood and stretched, lean muscles tight beneath his nest-raggled fur. He padded out into the clearing of what had once been the WaterClan camp. It was still unfamiliar to him, but he was relieved that, for now at least, they hadn’t made their way to what used to be EarthClan. He wasn’t sure he was ready for that. It did feel amazing to be part of something again. A clan, a family, even if it wasn’t the one he was born and raised in. He knew that EarthClan was long gone.
The tom moved across the camp with purpose, eyes glittering as they looked for his apprentice, Lovepaw. Coalsplash loved being a mentor, and was glad to have been chosen for it once more. It felt like it gave him purpose. “Lovepaw?” He called into the den, his fur fluffing up against a sudden, chilled breeze. “It’s time for some training,” he added, in case she needed an incentive to get out of her nest. It would be their second session, having showed her the limits of their current territory the day before.
lost Lovepaw is obsessive. It was something cats were starting to learn. Her current obsession, or at least since the ceremonies where she was promoted, her mentor. It was bleeding over into her personality, this obsession of hers. And could explain why she'd just come up behind her mentor with a bird hanging from her jaws that she dropped at her paws. "Coalsplash!" Her eyes were locked on his, hoping, wishing for his praise at bringing them breakfast. She'd gotten up early and waited by the small prey pile for him to awaken just so she could bring him breakfast.
Coalsplash purred in surprise, jumping lightly at her sudden appearance as he turned away from the apprentice den. The tom's ears dipped forward and he looked down at the bird. "Did you catch that yourself? Well done!" He touched his nose to her ear. "If you keep that up I won't even have anything to teach you. Do you want to share before we head out? I thought we could do some battle training, and then we can work on filling the fresh-kill pile," he hoped they might run into a little adventure, as Coalsplash hated to live his life boringly.
Lovepaw blushed with the praise. Though she couldn't really accept it as she hadn't caught the bird, merely drug it over for them to enjoy from the pile. "But I love hearing you teach!" It had become her obsession, well her teacher had become her obsession but any time spent with him was a good time in her opinion. "How else am I to become a better warrior if it's not through your amazing ways!" Truly she sounded dishearted, even crushed at the thought. But if he looked closer, and saw deeper, he'd realized he'd already found himself in a hole that he'll be having a hard time getting back out of. Lovepaw was nothing if not determined.
Coalsplash laughed, moving the bird a little ways out of the front of the apprentice den before he sat down. “I’m sure you’ll get tired of me before your training is over,” he told her with a purr. He took a few bites of the bird, it’s warmth filling his stomach. It was perfectly fresh. “That’ll last us until after sunhigh,” he told her, leaving plenty for her to eat as well. While Coalsplash might have been digging himself into a hole, Lovepaw was going to end up in even worse condition than himself. Until it would all come to a close, Coalsplash would be oblivious to how Lovepaw really felt about her mentor.
"I could never!" The mere thought made her gasp in surprise. How could he say that? Did he want rid of her? Was she gonna have to find a new mentor? Surely not! Lovepaw loved her mentor, literally! Having the bird practically pushed her way, she was pulled from her thoughts long enough to eat the rest of their meal. "Will we be out all day?" She tried to keep her mind on the future training, and not on the thought that he was trying to get rid of her as quick as he could.
He laughed, looking back at her with a smile as he began to lead her out of camp, "I was kidding, but I'm glad to hear that you don't think you will. When I was an apprentice, I had a friend who thought I was really annoying, he liked many anyway though," he flicked his tail as if shooing away the memories that would only cause him pain to think about. "Yes, we'll likely be out for a while. We have quite a lot to learn!"
"What are we starting with?" Lovepaw was on her paws ready to go in a moment's thought. Training with her mentor was her favorite part of every day. She got to hang out with him and he had to hang out with her!
