Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Duskwing sighed, soon her children would begin their training and she'd be back to warriors duties for the first time in forever it felt. She stretched as she stepped out of the nursery, having let her kits have free reign to go stretch their little legs and get some energy out.
Though one of the benefits of having been a queen when she'd been was she'd had the pleasure of taking in a few wonderful children, and one such one should be in the apprentice den.
"Mercurypaw." She meowed as she came to a stop near the apprentice den, calling her adopted son's name.
The bengal apprentice poked his head out of the den, hearing his adopted mom's call. "Yes?" He mewed, tilting his head to the side as he let his eyes adjust to the brighter light outside of the den. He'd been training as a warrior for the past moon. He wasn't exactly happy hut he was doing what he was expected to be doing. His adopted siblings would be joining him shortly, maybe that was what he was missing?
Duskwing purred and gave him a lick, "Are you well dear?" She asked. After her kits went wandering off a while back and had to be tracked down by the combined efforts of her and Stonehill, she'd gotten a little bit. Overprotective and constantly made a point to keep an eye on her children.
Mercurypaw was difficult to keep as easy track of as, he was now an apprentice. And soon her other kits would be too. "You haven't sat with me in a while, come come, let's get you some prey and you can tell me about your training," She beckoned him to follow her as she headed towards the fresh kill pile.
Mercurypaw tried his best to not duck away from that lick. It was true his mother had been paying closer attention to him and his siblings over the past half moon but he tried not to be annoyed by it. He was an apprentice, and his siblings would soon be following him as he'd though about before.
"As long as there's a mouse there for me." He mewed, pressing his shoulder against her's in return as he turned towards the pile and a few other cats that had taken the time to eat. It took him a moment to realize they almost stood at the same height. He'd really grown quickly, that or he was going to grow into quite a large cat.
Duskwing let out a chuckle, "Of course, Squirrelleap said he and Amberpaw got lucky with a whole nest, plenty for you to choose from." She meowed leading the way to the fresh kill pile. Upon arriving she chose a small shrew. She wasn't particularly hungry what with still not doing duty until her litter became apprentices, something she was very excited for. "I do hope training's going well, and my you're getting big! I wonder if you'll get bigger than me!" She added with a mrrow of amusement.
"You're gonna be so strong, handsome and intimidating when you become a warrior." She said eyes shining... though there was a shadow to her gaze. That this was less of an expectation but a desperate plea that this be the case. With most of her family gone... she couldn't bear to see the kits she loved dearly disappear. She'd gone from being... bitter and uncaring to being... desperate, digging in her claws to her loved ones like if she held them tight... StarClan wouldn't take them away. That if she reared them to be strong and tough, they could fight off whatever life tried to throw at them that could take them from her.
