Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF HUNTERS, AND IT IS THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. Separately, these things are often bad. Together, they are terrible. The Regime has been low on hunters for quite a while, but in the recent moon, most of the hunters that were left either died or went missing. This has created a crisis for the Regime.
This thread is going to be the hub of this mini-plot. It will take place in the gathering spot of the Regime. Your cats are hungry, probably irritated, and trying to figure out how to eat before the Regime starves to death. However, there may be other related threads orchestrated by the staff ! They will be linked in this main thread.
This is a mostly unscripted plot, though, that arose in direct response to the fact we have like 3 scouts. I ask that if you make a scout during the duration of this plot, you make it so that the scout is not originally from RR, or if they are RR bred, that they are coming back from a stay away from RR.
MINI PLOT OBJECTIVES - find more hunters here ! - train non-hunters to be able to catch food ! - find a new scout superior !
RP commences in the next post !

Gossamer Alessandra wrapped her tail around her feet. She had been out hunting already this morning, and even though she was quite adept at self-survival, she was completely incapable of supporting the entire Regime. Her forehead wrinkled slightly in concern. This was the first time that she'd really been concerned since coming to the group and taking over. She was without a Scout Superior - Mysterium was much better suited for Guider Superior than anything - and there were only a handful of cats in the group that knew how to hunt for themselves. She felt her stomach growl slightly. In the most leaderly thing she had done since taking over Commander, she had mostly abstained from eating since the prey became even more scarce than it had been. It had been a week since she had been satisfied, but for some it had been even longer.
Zodiac and his brother Brigade were both recently recruited into the Regime. They had been loners, just two toms living out their days in the forest. When he could be apart of something worthwhile, Zodiac jumped at the chance and here he was. He was asked to help bring in food for these cats who looked a little famished, to say the least. He and his brother were rather well fed. They had become exceptional at hunting. He was eager and ready to help. His brother took a bit of convincing to come here but he seemed to be doing just fine. Zodiac glanced behind him to see Brigade conversing with a poor she-cat. His gaze returned to Gossamer. He hadn't really got the chance to speak with his commander. He had never lived this kind of life, but he seemed to have a natural knack for respecting authority. He stepped closer and dipped his head, "How are you holding up?" He asked her, a small half-smile briefly making an appearance before falling away. He had planned to go out with Brigade later to bring in some food. Together they would be able to bring in a hefty amount but he wanted to check in with his new leader first. After all, this might be a permanent home for them.
Sentinel Kaisra was never far from Gossamer. It was her job, of course, to protect the Commander. Not that this explained her willingness to raise a litter with the leader, and the picking up of extra shifts, with Goss in particular. Totally no reason at all for that.
For a Regime cat, however, she was quite laid back, and offered a flash of a smile, Egyptian blue eyes sparkling from her place hovering near the she-cat's right side. "Well as we can. Despite my dirt mother's insistence that Mercenaries, and their upgrade, us Sentinels, simply don't hunt, I don't see her complaining much anymore for both her and I knowing the skill." It was nice enough to stretch her paws, at least. Kaisra's mother, of course, was Superior Shule, her father Sentinel Sean, their families boasting long lines of powerful cats in and out of the Regime. Though they often held power, she couldn't help but appreciate growing up largely in SunClan, and thus knowing how to hunt, the situation also having resulted in her mother learning to hunt, though that was because she'd had to escape an imprisonment, which was quite it's own story, wasn't it?
Sean was stationed at the commanders side as per usual. He was probably the only cat that was consistently well fed or at least he appeared that way, his chipper mood hadn't faltered and while his complete strength wasn't all there, he kept his posture straight and was able to keep up with the hunt tirelessly. Xuxa had grown suspicious of the sentinel and being a spy had stationed herself at what little of a freshkill pile they had to see if the sentinel was taking more than his share, but he never did, which only made her suspicions grow.
Xuxa turned to Commander Gossamer, "If we're plentiful on herbs, we could at least use some traveling herbs when we're out hunting to keep our strengths up," The scarred she-cat suggested. Her pawed rubbed harshly down her own cheek in annoyance, why did those WinterClan brats have to steal TWO scout cadets? They had stolen more, but c'mon, they needed the scouts the most to stay alive at the moment.
"I feel like we've hunted every living creature except cats in this territory," Sean said, it was hard to come across any prey unless it were a bird, but those were especially hard for those who hadn't trained to be scouts. If you weren't trained to be a scout it was a lot harder learning yourself how to stalk up and catch one. Luckily for him he had been commander of the Regime and was one of the few cats who had training as both a mercenary and scout because of it
Chaman Ignatius slipped into view of the group, out collecting herbs in case the lack of prey and weakened state of the Regime allowed sickness to rampage its way through their home, he wanted to be ready for it. His ears perked up, just catching Xuxas words about using herbs to keep up strength. "That will take quite a bit of herbs, we wont have enough for everyone." He moved closer to them as he spoke, his white pelt dusted in bits of dirt. "Although... If distributed smartly, and only to those who are putting in effort for hunting it may work for a little while, and leave me what I need if anything else were to happen."

Gossamer smiled a little tiredly at Zodiac. Kaisra had answered honestly; things were going as well as they could. "I'll be better when this all blows over," she meowed, her tail pulling just a hair closer to her stomach. It snarled in the same brutal ways it had in the last few days, and the pressure of her tail was one of the few things that she could do to calm it. "I appreciate the help that you and your brother have given us," she then added, almost as an afterthought. Some of the cats of the Regime were less friendly to outsiders than others, but she wanted to make sure he knew that his efforts were appreciated. Strange, perhaps starvation was making the she-cat into the Commander that was fit for the role. Without a full belly, her mind simply didn't have the energy to roam as freely as it normally did, right?
She then looked at Kaisra and then Sean, offering them both a nod of recognition. "You folks have been picking up the slack well, as well," she complimented. She appreciated both of them, if only for the fact that most of the time, one or both of them were at her side. Sean had been a personal favorite of hers since the day he ran out in front of her with flower petals, and Kaisra... well... was Kaisra. "I went out yesterday morning," she then continued in response to Sean's comment, "and I agree. We're running out of resources, and with that... new clan settling, we have less of an opportunity to hunt past our borders. I'd like to expand our hunting grounds to as far north as we can go without running into problems. Could you grab a few mercenaries and maybe a scout and see if that's possible later this afternoon?" She gave this assignment to Sean in particular, mostly because she knew he had experience running the group. She had things she needed to attend to here, or she'd do it herself, but she at least somewhat trusted the strange sentinel.
Her attention then went to Xuxa and Ignatius. "How many herbs do we have access to?" she asked the Chaman. "As many as can be diverted should go to the Scouts. Sean and his patrol to the North should get some..." She blinked. All of the cats needed them, really. How was she to decide who deserved strength more?
"Understood," Sean said with a nod, although personally he wasn't against stealing prey from SwiftClan. They weren't a real clan in his opinion and it was their fault for moving too close to them if their prey started to go missing. If they wanted to live somewhere where they wouldn't be bothered they should have gone to a pushover clan like FallClan or DayClan. But they would go up north and hunt, that should suffice. It was times like these where he missed their old tunnels, at least then they had the emergency blueberry bush. They didn't taste good, but they were incredibly healthy and helped cats bellies feel full even if their food didn't taste all that good.
He groomed his paw before pausing, "I don't need any herbs, you can give them to the rest of the patrol," Sean reassured before continuing to lick himself a few more times. The sentinel seemed to have a belief that he couldn't step outside until he was gorgeous. Better late than ugly.
"I've been out collecting more so our stock has grown, but I can only do so much in one day, I will make bundles for the scouts and those on patrol helping to hunt." He looked between the cats on the group, all looked tired and thin but he knew not everyone would get what they needed. He was feeling the affects of hunger himself, passing up even the small offerings given to him so others could eat more, turning his eyes to Sean he nodded "that's kind of you, but dont push yourself so far you wont be of any use, we need you strong."
