Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Wolfbee rolled her eyes as the snowballs started to fly, but at Lionwhispers call she moved into action, running up to Bumble and placing a paw on her before she could regain herself from the large warriors strike. "It would be best if you didn't fight." She growled down at the apprentice sized she-cat, like Lionwhisper, Wolfbee was much larger than average. "I got her Lionwhisper, yall make sure the other two dont get away!" She called out looking towards Coriander who hadn't moved from her spot.
The small calico she-cat was frozen in place, she didn't know how to fight and would prove useless in defending herself while fear gripped her so strongly and so when the snowball fight started all she could do was stare wide eyed at the chaos.
Froscloud hadn't realized that a tooth was stuck in her paw until she began to feel a pain in her paw every time she tried to put pressure on it. She peered at it and saw the tooth just before Louella attacked her, aiming a claw at her nose. The white warrior snarled and swiped a hard blow to the side of Louella's head with the paw that didn't hurt. When the young cat was thrown off her paws by Frostcloud's heavy blow, the took that time to yank the tooth from her paw. "Here! You can have it!" She hissed, spitting the tooth at Louella.
Cadet Zion watched as in slow motion the snowball came towards him, hurled right for his face! "A h h h h h h" He cried out, feeling the impending doom coming when suddenly a massive tom tackled him down before the snowball smashed into him. My hero!
He expected it to be Cadet Bumble, but instead when he opened his eyes it was Lionwhisper. He smiled slowly and knowingly, "I knew you'd have a change of heart," He purred before watching his comrade lash out at Cadet Bumble, "Blind Protector! What are you a super villain? Holy mouse dung, I swear you sound just like one," He blurted out laughing before muscling up a serious look and it a low gravely voice repeated, "GET HER, she knows too much! My heart is made of ice, rawrr," He laughed once more before his eyes widened and the snow shifted from beneath them. He had made his snow mound to sustain his weight not Lionwhisper's. Before he could open his mouth Lionwhisper and Cadet Zion were sliding down the short tunnel system he made and into the bottom, the snow covering the top of where they slipped down from.
Louella tried to grab her tooth but was unable to catch it before it fell into a snow drift and disappeared forever. She didn't even bother trying to dig for it, it was a literal needle in a haystack, a white tooth that small dropped into a pile of snow would never be found. After that realization she felt a burning pain on the side of her face from Frostcloud's attack and with it came a burning rage. This she-cat was barely more than a kit but the look in her blue eyes would make even the hardest of hearts do a double take, "Pray to whoever your God is this week, love, I'm about to send you his way."
With that, Louella launched herself at Frostcloud with renewed vigor. She was very quick but her steps were a little sloppy: She wasn't used to walking, let alone fighting, in snow. She aimed her blow at Frostcloud's right shoulder with an unsheathed claw then wrapped herself around her leg like an anchor. Despite her wounded mouth, she fought through the pain and tried to bite the back of Frostcloud's neck.
"Get off of me, fur ball!" Frostcloud spat, rage growing inside her as she tried to shake Louella free. She managed to crane her neck around and grab Louella by the scruff and tore her off of her leg, wincing as Louella's grip tore the fur and flesh from her neck. With a mighty thrust, she flung the young cadet a few tail length's away. She didn't give Louella a chance to get up before she was at her side again, gripping her by the scruff and tossing her against a tree. Not hard enough to kill her but just enough to leave some good bruises.
Louella landed not so elegantly a few tail-lengths away from Frostcloud, sinking a few inches into the snow. By the time she steadied herself, she went airborne for a second time. The cinnamon tabby didn't even have time to call out before her torso slammed into the side of the tree. She lost her breath and gasped for air, digging her claws into the bark.
Frostcloud may have well been lightning with how quickly she moved. Her opponent had size, experience and home team advantage here and it was in this moment that Louella realized she had no chance of winning through traditional means. She was still tasting blood in her mouth and spit it out, her saliva painting the snow berry red, "Coward! What kind of Warrior attacks a kitten like that... you could have broken my back! Or worse, my nose!"
Pity. It was all she had left. Oh, and her sharp claws, and she was ready to use those at the first opportunity. Louella was banking on Frostcloud having a conscience but it was a big risk. She knew WinterClan were ruthless. They had to be to survive in this crummy territory. But WinterClan had never met Louella. And Louella was extremely cute. She made sure her eyes were watering, her lip, dyed red with her own blood, was even quivering. She made herself look as small as possible and pinned her ears to the back of her skull. If this didn't work she may just have to admit defeat.
Blood trickled from the wound on her neck and her paw, staining her white pelt a crimson red. The white warrior walked threateningly up to Louella as she laid at the base of the tree. She looked down at the pitiful cadet, pulling her lips back in a snarl. She wasnt phased by Louella's desperate attempt to act innocent and vulnerable. Winterclan cats, especially knights, were trained to ignore any tricks. An enemy could easily beat their opponent by finding their weakness so it was always important to never show weakness. No matter how cute Louella may have been, Frostcloud was trained to show no mercy. It didn't matter how old she was either. Louella was a threat and an enemy. Frostcloud did what she was trained to do. She took care of the threat. "Theres a lesson to be learned here." Frostcloud growled as she dug her claws into Louella's skin and dragged her closer to whisper in her ear. "Never start a fight you know you cannot win." She released her grip on the young cat, leaving behind blood oozing puncture holes from her claws. "Now, you can either admit defeat and come with us to our camp or we can go another round. Choose wisely."
When Lionwhisper had striked, he hadn't seen the short tunnel system that was created under them until the two broke through and down into the hold. It only took a moment for the surprise to pass and when it did, Lionwhipser was back and focused on the small body under him. His claws extended as the two fell through, digging into the cadet's body in attempt to hold on. With the Cadet still under him, Lionwhipser pushed up powerfully in attempt to push away some of the snow that had buried them in the tunnel.
Cadet Zion cried clenched in his jaw feeling the claws press through his skin, visibly wincing he let out a grunt. He had never been wounded like this before, he strictly hunted leaving sickness and nature to be his greatest enemies, not cat kind. At Lionwhisper's touch the snow fell further into the tunnel forcing them to back up from what was an entrance. "Don't touch it," Cadet Zion said, but he didn't say it in a warning tone, only as a statement. "There's another exit, there's no need to risk our lives pushing this one. It's the northwest exit."
He hadn't struggled, he didn't want to move with the claws gripping him. At first he had considered allowing them both to be stuck down here, it would stall things. But at the same time what did he expect to happen? That the cadets who had no prior combat abilities would suddenly be able to take on a patrol of WinterClan warriors? He did all that he could for them, he and Cadet Bumble had their chance to run, but chose not to and to help Cadet Louella get away given her age. Instead she chose to recklessly fight dooming everyone to be caught. There was nothing more for him to do except ensure that no one suffered. Lionwhisper seemed to have some authority, the sooner he got out was likely the faster for him to tell his troops to drag them wherever. Or kill them, for all he knew this could be his last few minutes on earth, but he doubted it. WinterClan had a prison just like the Regime did, clans with prisons didn't typically kill or there wouldn't be a point in having something like that.
Louella dropped the cute act fairly quickly. She could tell that it wasn't working even before Frostcloud dug her claws into her shoulder and pulled her up from the ground. The cadet met Frostcloud's blue eyes unflinchingly and glared daggers right back at the WinterClan Knight. A hint of a snarl graced her lips which showcased her missing canine tooth. She was trying to look feral half-way did it although, truthfully, she just looked like a kit backed into a corner. Totally out of options. She felt warm blood trickle down her shoulder and drip onto the snow by her paws. She was bleeding pretty heavily and not just from that wound either. Now that she had been still for so long, she also became aware of a growing twinge in her mid-back, a dull ache that promised pain the next morning. Louella was on her feet now but she was quivering a little bit. It was hard to tell if it was from the cold, from the pain or from her own frustration. It was likely a combination of all three. She answered Frostcloud by looking at the ground and not saying a word. She couldn't fight anymore if she tried. Hopefully the rest of the Cadets faired better than she had...
Frigidpaw, a newly appointed student, had no idea how to fight but knew even he could take on the frozen cadet. Fur raising up, claws extended, he leaped for the cat. "I've got this one!" He let out a growl, calling his dips on the cat he'd pinned beneath him. Sinking his claws into the fur below him, the small orange and white tom continued to growl, speaking to the intruder now. "I've got you. And I'm not letting go. You're a prisoner of WinterClan now!"
Coriander let out a yelp as Frigidpaw landed on her, his claws pricking at the skin beneath her thick pelt. She had been so frightened all of her senses vanished, she couldn't fight though and so she didn't try to fight back. "I dont know how to fight! I take care of kits!" She cried loudly to the apprentice, wanting only for the pain from his claws to stop.
Perfect. The untrained student had snagged the queen-in-training. With a roll of his eyes, he relaxed his grip on the cat so his claws weren't piercing so much but not moving from his spot otherwise. Guess he was stuck guarding this one while the rest of the patrol rounded everyone else up. Probably a good thing since he didn't really know anything yet. Really, he'd tagged along to see more of the territory and hadn't expected to run into anything besides maybe a rabbit or two. Just wait until his siblings heard about this!
Frigidpaw noticed Frostcloud coming back with another of the Regime cats. That made two captured. How many were there again? Four? Three? The student couldn't remember. Turning his gaze to Frostcloud he beamed at her. "I caught this one!" He was proud of himself, especially for being so new to all of this.
"Oh goodie. What do you want? A gold star?" She grumbled at Frigidpaw. She wasnt the easiest cat to get along with though she was rather impressed that the enthusiastic apprentice had captured one of the Regime cats.
Coriander relaxed as the toms claws retracted a little, she was uncomfortable being pinned down but at least now the stinging pain was beginning to fade. She turned her green eyes toward the last place she saw Zion and Bumble, but from her position she could really only see the white snow, letting out a sigh she quickly tensed again at the sound of Frostclods voice. what a harsh feline. she thought, looking to gauge Frigidpaws reaction.
Wolfbee leaned down, grabbing Bumble by the scruff, an easy task considering the soldiers size and carried her to where the rest of the patrol was gathering. "Here is the the other one." She huffed, setting the cadet down beside herself and Frostcloud.
Cadet Louella gave Cadet Coriander an apologetic look. She wasn't angry at the other cadet, no, she was just frustrated with the position she had found herself in. Louella had been the first cat found and caught by the WinterClan patrol and it was honestly really embarrassing to know that she was dragging everyone else down with her. However, it wasn't really her fault that they didn't know how to fight, was it?
"I'm not surprised that the Regime has such a shortage of Scouts," she said bitterly to Coriander, "If a cat can't defend himself then why would he travel across border lines? Absolutely pathetic... all of us."
She didn't make any moves to escape or attack her captors. She was too sore, too hired and, for the present time, a little took broken-spirited.
Frostcloud flinched as the pain suddenly began to increase from the wound on her neck. It seemed like now that her adrenaline was coming down, she was starting to feel all the pain. The nasty bite mark in her neck and the bite mark on her paw where Louella's tooth got stuck. She had to admit, the apprentice had some sharp teeth. "Ugh, it's going to take me moons to get this blood out of my fur" she complained with an irritated lash of her tail.
